Superb build and especially the wiring description. I like how you get "to it" and don't dribble on about the slightest details.... no endless jibberjabber repeating yourself over n over. Thanks, I'm going to build one for my feelfree 11.5 AND my aluminum fishing boat, I'm going to try and make it so it telescopes or collapses in itself.... I think a larger base piece and much smaller diameter extension will do it, with some kind of rubber boot or grommet to keep water out. Thanks again, smashed both buttons, so now YOU can keep me awake with your builds to. Nick in Redfield Arkansas.

Nick! That’s an awesome idea. I’m a “tinkerer” at heart. I’ve always loved building things. Let me know how your build turns out! I’m ready for the ice to go away and to get back out on the water! Tight lines and thanks for commenting

Note- Most USB power banks activate with a power switch or when you plug in a USB cable. The switch will probably only be for turning the light off after daylight starts. Overall a great bright light to keep you safe at night on the water. Some people have had trouble with the switch wiring and it’s reliability. You can bypass making the switch and just plug it in when needed. (Thanks to TJ) Question Of The Day??? Do you take your kayak out when its dark out?

Welp, I’m glad I kept the receipt the the railblaza pole I just bought for $90! I’ll use it for my tourney this weekend, and return it! Lol This seems easy enough and looks awesome 👏

Hope you like it. I tried using basic parts with really no cutting of PVC to make it as simple as possible for someone to make. Plenty bright also to keep ya safe on the water and provide a little light to see. Thanks for watching!

Thank you for sharing. Itooks very nice. Its been about 8 months. How is it holding up? Where are you storing the battery for this light and your cameras?

It’s still working well. Used it several times as I don’t usually night fish during the winter. I use an external battery pack for the light and my cameras run off a separate battery

Good idea but you don't need the switch as just plugging it in is the on/off for the light.

I usually use it in the morning and the switch works well to not drain the battery.

Can you tell us approximately how long that light will burn and the size of the power pack? Awesome looking light! Looks like a good small project for my son and I.

I honestly have no clue how long it will stay light. I use the power pack for cameras and run all day on my osmo actions (8 hours). That light is guarantee uses less power than my cameras

Great design. I made this myself and it works great except for one part. Once I power it on, it works as intended, but when I shut it off via the power switch, it doesn't turn back on if leave it off for more than 5ish seconds. If I turn it on and off rapidly, it isn't a problem and works as intended, but long on/off cycles don't seem to work. The only way to get it working again is to unplug and replug in the USB connector into the power bank. Any ideas on what is happening?

That’s why I pinned a comment about the switch with a power bank only being to turn it off. When I plug it into constant power through my usb power source on my kayak the switch works for both on and off. I think it has to be with most USB power banks not being a constant on.

Don't talk bad about your wire diagram drawing. Even I could understand it!!! Since the video is 2 years old and you sure had plenty of chances to use the light, I have a question for you. If you bad to do another, would you use the same bulb or would choose one with more watts? Great video!

Excited to try my new light out. Hopefully my battery pack will last. FYI! I bought a waterproof case for my battery pack. Things get pretty wet when pulling up hoopnets.
