Agreed fully, he is one of the greatest athlete, legend, a hard worker and a genetic individual talent, but the real reason for his retirement and lack of motivation was mostly the development of ped testing and the new subject lists of the wada. and don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this to diminish his achievements, but because it's true.

@@MrOmerDalorNah it's gonna take a while for someone to beat that record, it's already stood for 15 years and sprinters have gotten far slower than they were then. Mostly due to Bolt quite literally bringing up the competition and making the other athletes run faster to compete with him, also there's just less talent now than then. But yeah probably in our life times it'll fall as everything advances

I became a combat construction worker because of 9/11. It was the most selfless act I could think of to do to help those in NY even though I'm from MS. I'm an artist and decided to tear up my art scholarship and join the Army and put my art skills to really good use serving my country. I saw construction as another form of Art. I am currently a stay at home mother of two, who is a child of God and a Baptist homeschool teacher to them. I thank God for allowing me to serve my country and approving of my current lifestyle. Now sub 9:40 is another story, that might take 50 years. Mathematically speaking it was unthinkable in the 20th century that anyone on any kind of enhancement could go bellow 9:70, mere 8 years into the 21st century he did it more than twice.

Blake's 200m was faster than Bolts before wind adjustment, and he also covered the distance faster after his start (because Bolt's reaction was faster, his overal time was also faster) so it's conceivable that the 200 record could fall (although we've hardly seen an athlete on par with Blake never mind Bolt) Nobody has ever come within a tenth of a second of his 100 time, I think that will stand until the sun explodes. To call the guy a generational talent is an unspeakable understatement - I think we've seen the marathon equivalent in Kelvin Kiptum, but I'm just sorry he never had the chance to put his world record completely out of sight for the next 100 years

I think someone with the talent of Bolt who will not slow down towards the end will get a record one day, I’m not saying he never tried but he could’ve had a bigger record in 2012 according to his coach, he said himself his coach was unhappy with him in his autobiography.

For someone to beat his record, it would have to be someone who has his same physical make up/height/ground contact speed and turnover. Just don’t see it…the odds of finding similar characteristics and athleticism is too rare. He WILL BE the greatest of ALL time for generations, after generation, after generation

8 billion people. at least a few others will have physical potential to be able to beat him no? new training methods... new regulations (dont nitpick on regulations point)... etc. everything stands to point that at least in the time from now to the end of human history, someone will beat usain bolt's record? Well it's almost certain. No matter how you try to phrase it with pseudo science, you are statistically: exaggerating/wrong.

Bolt is a FUN runner…he ran in a style that showed he was enjoying himself, and the same applies to Jacko, as well. His last few years of competition, his body was moving much slower and he ended up working harder to catch Gatlin, rather than smoke everyone while looking like a kid at a Playground, as usual! I mean, to go undefeated almost his entire career since 2008 is absolutely amazing, and I’m happy he retired on top. Obviously, by 2017, him getting beat said tons…his passion for it was gone and he wasn’t training his body hard enough to put out those times that year. I respect the man and appreciate all he has done for our sport!
