From what I understood, every single kill was head on. Normally that's not how you shoot down an aircraft but, being AI, there is no fear.

An AI "pilot" can think faster, process much more information, does not get tired, can survive much higher g-forces, does not fear death, and is so much faster and cheaper to train than a human pilot. Why use a human pilot?

For anyone in favor of this lunacy… I invite you to watch the terminator series, IRobot, Eagle Eye, war games, and so on. Imagining AI has warned us of all the negative outcomes for several decades. It blows my mind that it’s being embraced like this.

I think it will be a long time coming. There are lots of factors in aerial combat, and it would take years to develop the ability to recognize and properly react to every situation.
