Mexico's failure is a bigger picture problem. Mexican team owners always want to sell Mexican players at the highest price to the point where European teams simply don't want them. The past decades they also immensely favored foreign players rather than its own Mexican players. In contrast the MLS teams don't sell their players for the highest price. They go and gain valuable play time in the better European leagues. 21 or 23 players for the USA play in Europe, out of the 2 one of them is the goalie. Corruption and money greed has destroyed the Mexican team.

Supporter criticism of Berhalter is less rooted in results than it is in the way those results are achieved. Here's what they say: 1) He's tactically inflexible and unimaginative. As a result, players do more thinking than playing. 2) He considers dominance over Mexico to be his Mount Everest. IE; he's ill equipped to take the next step. He is out of his depth against legitimate tacticians. 3) His squad selection has been the frequent target of criticism. They believe he is excessively loyal to MLS players. In fairness, even his detractors acknowledge that he's making progress on this front. 4) He is a poor man manager. I defended Berhalter in the face of heated criticism for a long time. He was getting results. He supplanted Mexico as the power in concacaf waters. He got us to the WC knockout stage. But, US fans, myself included, have aspirations of the national team stepping up to elite status. And Gregg Berhalter is definitely not the man to put us on that trajectory. You can't really fire a guy after he delivered a trophy - at the expense of an arch rival, no less. But, he isn't the guy to be coaching in 2026. That tournament, being held on American soil, on America's 250th birthday, is our chance to make a statement. Quarterfinal, bare minimum - semi final ought to be the aim. I really don't think Gregg is built for that kind of run.

The goal should always be to go one round further than last time. Round of 16 would be a good performance for the US. Maybe further depending on the draw. Gregg is capable of doing that.

As to your question these replays didnt show the best angles there was zero contact between arob and santi. Santi was carded for simulation

Mexico, in their last seven games against the United States, is 0-2-5. The last time they won a game against us was in 2019. US fans and our Federation are acting like it’s some big accomplishment to be beating Mexico this consistently and it means that we’re super great… But what they’re not admitting is that Mexico are just getting worse and their talent pool is getting weaker because they refuse to send their players to Europe, where they can face top competition. So yes, we’ve gotten a little bit better and we’re beating them more but it’s not because we’ve gotten as good as our fans think we have it’s because Mexico has gotten the worst it’s been in decades. Federation really needs to stop hyping These wins over Mexico and instead trying to schedule tougher opposition in friendly and other tournaments. it would also help if we played some games away from home in hostel environments which the Federation refuses to do except for the rare occasion we have a road game in World Cup qualifying and the times when we make a World Cup in a foreign country.

Berhalter was not the manager last year when USA won Nations League easily. This year, they barely survived Jamaica with an own goal.

Soccer is obviously not as big here in North America as it is in places like South America and Europe but USA vs Mexico is an amazing rivalry. The world should always be tuned in when these two face off.

Time is not up til the ref says so. You know this.

Bangso -- Not sure if you noticed, but the highlights are out of order. Noticed on at least 2 occasions they showed a play with the clock showing, then the next highlight shown had the clock with an earlier time on it. Not sure who created the highlight real you watched, but that definitely caught me off guard and seems confusing.Unfortunately at the end you missed the replays of the Robinson incident in the box that from other angles showed that there was no contact to the Mexican player, and that is why the PK was ruled off.

The problem with Berhalter is not his results against Mexico. The US players are simply better than Mexico now, we can get results against them if the players decide to show up no matter who the manager is. The problem is that Berhalter seems to think that the USMNT doesn't have any opposition that is stronger than Mexico. Everything about how he runs the team is built to destroy Mexico, and it gets us in to trouble sometimes against other teams that we certainly have the talent to get wins or at least make competitive. He manages the team like he's playing against Mexico no matter who the other team is. Of course he looks great against Mexico, it's the only team he seems to think about beating.

Such a good game for USA. They are the best team in Concacaf right now, and we mexico fans wanna criticize so much we blind ourselves into criticizing the whole team, the whole system. Which Im sure has its merit, BUT we can simply it. In futbol the best defense is a strong offense, and Mexico offense was the worst its ever been.

The real test for the U.S. will be the Copa América. The U.S. came in 4th place in the Copa América Centenario but got demolished by Argentina and lost 1-0 to Columbia in the 3rd place match. I don't have enough confidence in Berhalter's tactical savvy to think we'll make it back to the Copa América semi-finals...but I want to be wrong.

The nations league is pretty new there has only been 3 USA has won all 3 Mexico has 9 Gold cups to USA 7 Mexico has 2 second place finishes USA 5 USA has beaten Mexico at the World Cup to make the quarters and made the semis of the first World Cup Mexico leads overall h2h

My favorite Tyler Adams meme is that he got Mourinho sacked by Chelsea when he was 16. He scored during a pre-season friendly for New York Red Bulls in a 4-2 win. I think Dest could/should play mid field. Possibly a deep playmaker that has the green light to make runs, but still plays a heavyweight defensive role, or even just right mid. He has the talent in both sides IMO and the work rate.

Berhalter is tactically not going to get us to the next level, and that is fans problem with him as coach. This is our most talented gerenation ever, and we can beat lesser sides. Copa America this summer will be a big test... but he showed a lot of tactical ineptitude vs Netherlands in the WC. Drawing England was his biggest accomplishment, and it came down to incredible workrate from McKennie-Musah-Adams in the midfield.

The "penalty" was a complete dive from the Mexican player. Robinson didn't touch him. There were better replay angles than what you saw.

These highlights missed the best part of the second goal. Pulisic dribbled to the byline, and then popped the ball over the defender who slid in and I swear you could see his soul leave his body.

There isn’t a lot wrong with Berhalter. His players love him. He gets results. All that matters. Fans have to talk down Mexico to crap on him, but the facts are this “worst ever” Mexico side has been in every final in Concacaf except one in the Berhalter/interim manager era and that was when they lost to the US in the Semis of the last nations league.

Other view shows the Mexican player didn’t even get close to being touched and flopped. Got a yellow for simulation

Terrible highlights, they cut major plays in half and only show you the last 1/4 of a play. After watching these you still can't claim you know what happened in the game

Mexican football has been in the decline for years. And honestly I shouldn't have expected anything else. USA has been the better side for about 5 years now. This is because they actually focus on building up their team and talent by sending young players to Europe. Meanwhile in Mexico, they are bringing back those few players in Europe and bringing back to play in Mexico. Its a damn shame how the corrupt Mexican federation runs their "business". Because at the end of the day, thats all it is for the Mexican federation all about money money and NOTHING about football. I am done supporting this team until they make very critical changes in our football

The problem with Gregg is that he's good enough to win against Mexico,, but he's incapable of giving us a chance to beat better or equal teams talent wise. Tactics become far more imprtant at that level and he's just not great at it. We beat mexico because talent wise we're better. Talent finds a way.

Berhalter sucks. The US has some talented players. If they had a decent coach they could be so much better. That is the US Soccer organization's fault for bringing Berhalter back. The US has one good game and then they next one they play badly. The last play before they cut it, Robinson did not touch him. If you see the full play you will see he didn't touch him. The Mexican player got called for Simulation and he should have. He didn't even argue when he got called for it because he knew he got busted!

These edited hack jobs don't do the game justice. The channels with the best highlights are CBS Sports Golazo, US Soccer, Fox Soccer, Concacaf, or MLS.
