Which begs the question why does he turn into a mediocre playmaker in the NBA? Because in theory, the faster NBA pace and more space should make it easier for him to make plays since his game thrives on speed and penetration... I think the problem with him in the NBA is the 3pt line being further... Teams can sag off him defensively on the perimeter and he can't make them punish from three... A shorter FIBA 3pt line is more his range. Even there he can be very inconsistent, but usually he shoots it with more confidence and can hit north of 33%... In the NBA he can't hit from 3-ball range and sagging defenses + drop take away his ability to penetrate, so he's much less effective.

Still Germany was better than Spain against USA ! Germany momentarly best European Team against USA , although it was an Exhibition Tournament in Abu Dhabi! If Team Germany brings this form also to the WC , we all remember the embarassing WC 2019 against Domenican Republik and the exit out of the tournemant, they could go far ! They have the best German team since decades and more NBA players than in the past with only " German.Wunderkind Nowitzki ! So sad that Hartenstein and Kleber arent on this team ! @@davinnicode Yeah, cause most international teams have no superstars (outside of Luka and maybe SGA) and like 3, 4 NBA players at most? That's literally the field... And yet i can still see several teams beating this US team in a one-off knockout game, namely Germany, Spain, Australia, Canada, France and Serbia... Make no mistake, the US is and should be favorites, they still brought the most talent in a vacuum for this competition... But that was the case in 2019 as well and they got what...? 7th place in the end? All it takes is an off shooting night from 3 and Edwards/Brunson not being able to get hot... That's all, because US has no ability anymore to dominate the transition or dominate through size. They utilize smallball lineups, except their Bigs can't shoot or pass and they're playing on less spacious FIBA courts with more physical defense...

Not together tbh, they were desperate and singular performances from Edwards and Haliburton by taking tough threes brought them back in. The american team won DESPITE playing rather lackluster, and most of this falls onto germany for choking the last 7 minutes after they controlled the game from the start with good team basketball and patience on offense. Germany deconstructed the Team USA defense for most of this game. They went away from this in the last 7 minutes and barely had any off ball movement anymore. Germany threw the game, that is the story of this game.

@@soccerplyr8plenty of people said that when Laker players were giving him praise as well as when the roster was initially constructed. Tons of comments and other fan bases trying to explain why Team USA has fallen off and using Reaves as an example even though he’s only ever contributed to winning basketball on the court

I don't think those people ever existed. Never heard that. But then again I live in LA where if we had to choose between Reaves and Bron we prefer Reaves and has our fingers crossed we got to resign him! :)

These young guns have the mentality of a champion, their heart was developed when playing along with Super Stars Veterans. Adopting; It's not how you start, It's about how you finish the job. Love the spirit, never stop working, responding wisely, position by position, by position. I love it.😍😍😍

Wow! That was some of the best basketball I’ve ever seen! Great basketball for the young bucks. Haliburton sparked them big time. Jackson just defensively everywhere. Austin Reaves got a sneaky quick crossover. & Edwards really just put on his cape at the end and took it home! You won’t see basketball like that in the NBA! Referees know only two calls, out of bounds and time out

Damn! Brunson Benched for good, somewhere around the 6 minute Mark of the 3rd. He struggled mightily, especially on defense. I hope that changes, when the real games begin. Personally I am really hoping for this kid to succeed during the world Cup.
