Very true Li Zheng, but what is interesting to see in the future, China is becoming more like the US every day. China is moving away from manufacturing and becoming a services economy like the US. they will slowly begin to raise wages and increase worker protections, manufacturers will begin to leave for the southeast Asians countries like Thailand and Vietnam, but then China will become a huge services country like the US. You can already see that with the huge technology companies providing mobile services and beyond. China is doing great, but it must work to help its rural citizens that do not have access to the same benefits as the citizens in the cities do

the real answer is that though India & China seems almost identical by economic figures, yet China prepared everything needed for it to rise up. for example: - in 1980, literacy in China was 76%, almost equal to India today - unified market - a basic, low-efficiency, yet complete industry foundation - state-owned land ownership - female (work) rights, and therefore, a high labor participation rate - a brutal yet effective population control policy if you take a closer look, you will notice the life expectancy difference. you have to do many things right to improve this figure. China back then was already a rich soil, it was just waiting for proper seeds. so when the chances finally arrived, it rose up like a rocket. I noticed the comment below mentioned "democracy"...it's not accurate. the right way to say should be a long-term plan for creating that soil and the leaders who are willing to execute it and push nation forward with tremendous pressure & backfire. it just happens to be a task more difficult to be fulfilled in a democratic system.

@@thorin.s1779 USA is particularly ahead because it started way too early. It got support from European countries, had slaves to build structures and most importantly, engineers from all over the world. During the 20th century (mainly during the Cold War), educated and skilled people from all over the world started moving to USA to work. Tell me yourself, you are living in 20th century and you get a chance to either move to USA or India, which one will you choose? USA obviously. I'm not an Indian but still pretty much aware of their Brain drain problem. Their average IQ is in 80s while an average IQ of an Indian moving to USA is above 110. Here in China, if a mega city is to be built, the already living people have to move out and get rehoused (get some money too, maybe). Now consider a democracy like India, do you think that people will give agree to this? One cuck will obviously protest and not give his land. Things in democracy go slow in this present era but it's also important because what if the dictator turned out to be like Hitler or Kim Jon Un

Forget the US, I genuinely feel that the quality of life and infrastructure of South and East China is at least 20 years ahead of most Indian cities. Kinda agree with some guys, that the rapid development of China is never as easy as it looks. People were working so hard than the others could ever imagine. In the hardest time during 1950-1960, which was called the Great Leap Forward, people were starving but still wanted to donate their only pot or other domestic ironware to country for industrial development. Obviously, it was a waste of energy and money, and the country got nothing from it. But what I wanna say is that, Chinese would cost everything just to make China back to its peak and the hardness and difficulties only we Chinese know. Anyway, hope China could keep doing well in the future, India and USA too❤

Also we don't want to compete as a superpower. India should be least bothered about that. Harmony is all we need at the moment. Its sad to not see wise Indians in any comment section. @@AnimeMovement Well, actually the growth of population is extremely slow now (compare to its base) due to the one-kid policy. The people are resource for some country but it also could be huge burden for other. So, how can the government make their citizens to be pillars instead of vampires is a very hard problem to solve. Especially, when you are having more than 1.5 billion of people, you have to create such many "positions of industries'" for them. I believe China had done this much better than most of the developed countries.

The gap between USA and China is huge. America will be the one and the only superpower country in the foreseeable future and rule the world in the most of the fields, no one can surpass. For China, we have bunches of problems to face and solve, those data means nothing compare with the real benefits of citizen, we don't wanna be the No.1 and of course we can't be either, so hope America can lead this world to a peaceful future instead of war and protectionism.

I wonder why the western alway think China is governed by evil communist party, Chinese people are so poor and suffering, they shouldn’t develop so fast etc~I am Chinese, I witness how our life become more better and how our country from shortage necessaries of life, change to people can buy what they want, people can achieve their goal by hard work.
