Removing religion from Africa won't help much. There's an ideological cold war going on, sowing anti-western sentiment. The likes of Russia and China are expanding their sphere of influence, by trying to topple democracies and install authoritatian regimes everywhere. The belt and road scheme alone will indebt African nations, and China will control and enslave Africans through heavy debt.

The United States has issued a stern warning that the city of El Fasher in Sudan's Darfur region is under imminent threat of attack by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) paramilitary group and its allied militias. The RSF has encircled El Fasher, the only capital in Darfur still under the control of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), and is planning an imminent offensive on the city. The US has expressed deep concern over the potential for a "large-scale massacre" of the estimated 800,000 civilians living in El Fasher. The UN has also warned that an attack on the city would have "devastating consequences". The RSF and SAF have already engaged in intense clashes around El Fasher, with reports of indiscriminate attacks using heavy weaponry in residential areas, resulting in numerous civilian casualties and significant displacement. The conflict between the RSF and SAF began in April 2023 following weeks of tensions linked to a plan for returning Sudan to civilian rule. The fighting has escalated into a full-blown civil war that has displaced over 8 million people and killed at least 14,000. The US and UN have called for an immediate cessation of hostilities and a return to negotiations to end the conflict.

Sudan borders the red sea, if the country falls then that destabilizes the region. Which means trade and transportation are effected/disrupted. That's international trade/transportation to include red sea waterways (look at what the Houthi's are able to do for instance), as well as Sudan's exports. The U.S. is the biggest benefactor of a stable world because they are currently economically the one winning the most from the status quo. This isn't hard folks. It's easy, simple basic Econ 101 why the U.S. is "concerned".

“The disciples came to Jesus and asked, ‘Who is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven?’ He called a child, set him in front of them, and said, ‘I tell you this: unless you turn round and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of Heaven. Let a man humble himself till he is like this child, and he will be the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven. Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me. But if a man is a cause of stumbling to one of these little ones who have faith in me, it would be better for him to have a millstone hung round his neck and be drowned in the depths of the sea. Alas for the world that such causes of stumbling arise! Come they must, but woe betide the man through whom they come!’” - (at Matthew 18: 1-7) -
