I really appreciate Nikhil saying that these foods are very expensive and not necessarily attainable for most Indian people. It's fun to see the differences in products, but it is important to remember that these foods aren't cheap and not everyday items for everyone. Thank you for giving context for those of us outside of India.

I really dont understand why someone would chose to spend so much money just for coffee (and coffee that isnt even very good..). coffee is super cheap. im in western europe, and here the frapuchinos and stuff cost around 5-6 euros; for 6 euros you can literally have a meal in the cheaper restaurants. And the thing is, in any other coffee place a normal coffe costs 0.50 to 1.50 in the more expensive places. just doesnt make sense, the drinks arent even that good lol. Why spend so much more money just for low quality coffee? not a diss, just really am curious about it

@@iguana6746 it's mostly the elite kids and their parents, influencers or kids who want to show off to their friends or GF's that they are rich and high status peeps who go Starbucks. Starbucks in India is viewed as a status thing. Same thing with Apple products. Majority of the Indian population isn't capable of affording such expensive products and services but many still go out of their way to make them seem higher in the status hierarchy than they actually are to shift their chances in certain aspects like career, social circle, dating and other such places. I personally never went to Starbucks and my friends and strangers upon hearing that get flabbergasted a lot of times. As if I did some sort of a crime or missed out on something exceptional, at the core it's only another cafe that sells super overpriced coffee to stupid customers using the goodwill of the brand. However I guess to each their own.

@@iguana6746 There are two primary selling points of Starbucks IMO - (a) they are super consistent. It will never be the best coffee you can find in town, but it won't be terrible either. It provides a perfectly adequate cup of coffee - every single time. So it's the _easy_ option - don't have to research places and/or do trial and error. I can just walk in and Starbucks will meet my expectations. (b) what they sell is really milkshaks, that also contain some caffeine. Many people (me included) don't actually like coffee - they just want the caffeine hit with as little actual coffee flavour as possible. Starbucks is perfect for that.

Never went to Starbucks in India but I’d like to try some of the unique items. The only time I do Starbucks is on a road trip or if there’s no other option. I like to try the local chains whenever possible. I highly recommend coffee day if you go to India and in the United States, I recommend local coffee shops or donut shops. Best of all, make your own.

Very late here but as a Sbux barista, we are taught that the nitro cold brew contains slightly more caffeine than normal cold brew. But the main reason we don't sell it in bigger sizes than a Grande here in the states is because of the nitrogen infusion. With the infusion it enters your bloodstream quicker than any other coffee would (so you're getting more caffeine + its entering your bloodstream faster,), but you have to drink it as soon as you get it before the drink "deflates". Once it deflates the nitrogen infusion dissipates and it just becomes regular cold brew. With the nitrogen infusion it has a smoother sort of texture when drinking it.
