Especially for the membership application vote. Why would a UNSC permanent member be willing to effectively say, “I may use my military power to stop this country from being independent”? no country, not even a permanent SC member, should be allowed to disrespect the charter this way, when the majority of members are in agreement to something as basic as a state deserving to be an independent and sovereign member status.
