    The attitude of the US towards China is, to put in mildly, surreal, with Blinken, amongst his many demands, insisting on China giving American companies a “level playing field” while more and more Chinese companies are hindered or banned outright from doing business in the US. No doubt the US market is an important one for China, yet I seriously doubt that it is going to try to appease this increasingly deranged and imperialistic adversary. Historically, appeasement never ends well.

  • @Lyra0966

    @Lyra0966

    @Paul_Caruana Very well said. Another term I would use in this context is "bizarre". US policy with regard to China is horribly confused. Sanctioning Chinese tech firms and attempting to retard Chinese technogical progress particularly in the chip sector, ultimately can only result in greater Chinese self-sufficiency. From self-sufficiency and tech parity the Chinese will then go on to dominate this sector because their productive capacity will be both greater and cheaper. Once again, the US is shooting itself in the foot.

    No one (other than delusional Ukrainians) thought that. The purpose of the West was to destabilize Russia, to the point where Putin would be over thrown and Russia could be split up for BlackRock, for its Resources. The West used Ukrainians as proxies, to be thrown away after use. The West does not care how many Ukrainians die, as long as the West gets what it wants. Instead, this only drew Russia close to China (destroying the policy of Kissinger and most US presidents since Nixon), accellerated BRICS and the fall of the PetroDollar, destroyed access to cheap Russian gas (de-industrializing Europe), and accelerated the massive Debt burden on the US. This is a total disaster for the West, caused by the Globalists/Neocons.

This would be a violation of rules regarding refugees and a crime by any who take part in such a program. Listening to the struggling with pronunciation of "Vuhlidar" (in Ukrainian) or "Ugledar" (in Russian) town, maybe it would be interresting for some to actually understand the meaning of this word. Maybe somebody already mentioned it here or somewhere else. "Ugl" (in Russian) or "Uhlí" (in my native, also Slavic, language) means "Coal" and "dar" in Slavic languages means "gift", so the meaning of the word is basically to describe the locality as the one which is giving (gifting) the local inhabitants coal (as a gift). Many of these towns and villages in Donbass area are mining towns, thus those names. Another example was the Soledar town - "sol" means "salt", dar again gift - so the town was named, because it was mining town, but not for coal this time, but for salt.

I'm a wee bit brainy but nowhere near as brainy as very brainy people like Alexander. However, at least I'm brainy enough to realise that some people are much brainier than I am. The tragedy of The West is that it's being run by people who are not very brainy at all. They're not even brainy enough to recognise how much brainier their opponents are. People who are not brainy should not be in charge of the destiny of hundreds of millions of people.

    Hi Alex, great commentary as usual. I'm a big fan! I want to add to your point about the ATACMS being potentially easier to intercept than slower-moving subsonic cruise missiles. You are absolutely right to point out that subsonic cruise missiles tend to fly much lower, which makes them more difficult to detect by radars and therefore reduces the likelihood of interception. To reinforce your point, one reason why the ATACMS may be more predictable and easier to shoot down is that it is a tactical ballistic missile, and one that as you point out is supersonic (although still slow compared to most ballistic missiles), but which follows a predictable and highly visible flight trajectory. It *may* be able to able to make very limited manoeuvres in the terminal phase, but this will be very minor compared to a cruise missile of any kind. ATACMS will also not be surface-skimming very much by definition, again making it easy to see coming by radar systems (most of which are line-of-sight based and limited by the earth's curvature). Adding to the fact the ATACMS is slow by ballistic missile standards makes it pretty plausible for the Russians to shoot down the vast majority of them. A supersonic or hypersonic cruise missile on the other hand would be much harder for the Russians (or anyone else) to deal with, especially if they can fly relatively low.

    Sometimes I wonder how the people of these western nations believe the lies and misinformation that are spread by bbc, cnn etc If you watch sky news and the analysis of retired military officers you wonder how many of them became generals

    The “aid package” is a payout for the criminals in charge of this debacle, and any defense in Ukraine will be the entrances to the traffic tunnels for which the regime fights to the death.

    If rumours are true Russians having 800k troops in this special military operation then I may say the Russian army is approximately 2.5 to 3m .

    There's no rumors, the numbers are roughly known and public, and the russian armed forces got a whole chunk bigger since the start of the SMO. The occupation of Finland by NATO and the new NATO border in the north is one of the reasons.

    Sorry the Russian military is NOT 2.5 to 3 million actives . Its half of that or less. Even Putin didn't claim 800K in the SMO. He said it was maybe 600K (with probably only two-thirds actually inside Ukraine beyond Crimea). ... At the start of the war the Russian military had a claimed paper strength of around 1 million, but the actual number of bodies in the ranks was 750-800K. Its generally a good idea to distrust ANY facts and figures coming from Moscow without confirmation elsewhere. The Potemkin village mentality is in the water there...

    The numbers you are quoting for the SMO and Russian total military manpower are too high and exaggerated. Likely RU active forces currently have only about half or a little over the 2.5 to 3 million total you referenced. On the SMO Putin said 600K engaged in that operation (probably many of them are based in Russia proper or occupied Crimea not Ukraine; doing supporting/air defense/supply etc. tasks).

    The speed of the moving line to thecwest is getting to about 6 to 8 km per day At this speed they ukr will not have time to regroup and form a solid line When the line crumbles then there will be a bi directional encirclement move and their eastern armies will be trapped When this happens there is but a couple of light brigades left to defend the main cities which will in turn be encircled and starved out this is classic russian warfare as demonstrated time and again vs the germans Once the game is over then the west will just have to eat humble pie and open up relations as the need the cheap nat gas ..

    The Russian Armed Forces have captured the refractory brick plant in the center of Krasnogorovka, as reported by military correspondent Alexander Sladkov. The 5th Army Brigade of the Southern Military District showed up: the guys hung the Russian flag from the window of the factory building. This was the last major enemy support in the city. - Intel Republic

    US Aid to Ukraine is basically a SCAM This is not just poor fiscal policy; it is an outright insult to the intelligence of the American people. No one in Washington seems to take these proceedings seriously, expecting perhaps that the facade of a loan will appease public scrutiny. The expectation that Ukraine might default on such a loan without consequence only adds to the charade. - TFIGlobal

    They have investments in the kiddie tunnels in Ukraine. Watch their faces when they talk about defending Ukraine or bombing Russia, Lyndsey Graham is a perfect example. They look as panicked as a man who’s seen his own ghost. They k ow the game they’re playing and they know Putin marches closer by the hour and day. The revelation of this is inevitable and when it hits the mainstream, hold onto something.

    "This is not just poor fiscal policy; it is an outright insult to the intelligence of the American people. " Its NOT fiscal policy its a defense policy and as for the American people poll after poll has shown majority support for military aid to Ukraine down to this day. Several vatniks here have said "70%" of the US public is against military aid to Ukraine. That is simply false---not even 70% of Republicans are against it.
