One year I took 2nd place in a tournament. The next year I came in dead last out of 136 participants. I bowled great with a 240 average in the stepladders (300 semi-final). Then I couldn't break 180 in any of the qualifying games. Then I bowled a 289 game and two days later I bowled a 116. Bowling can humble a guy quickly and yet be so sweet as well. Enjoy those sweet moments.

Brad, I really appreciate the incite to the tournament, but more importantly your attitude. You knew it was going to be difficult, and now you're going to use this experience to hone your game even more for the better. I was pulling for you all the way - sorry it didn't work out this time, but I know sometime this year we're going to see you on TV...hoisting a trophy. Good luck - be safe - God Bless.

You talking about Darren's camera guy? He needs to learn more about audio. It's usually awful. Just look back to the league night videos. He blasts the music part so loud that I need to turn down the volume, but then the volume is too low for when they have their talking segments. So it's constantly turning the volume up down up down up down up down all video long. That being said.... it seems better during the US Open videos.

Brad, Kyle, I was thinking about something. One of the more interesting styles of bowling is…I think it’s called the helicopter shot. It comes from parts of Asia. Seems like it’s really hard to pull off and kinda counter-intuitive. But I wonder if anyone has ever tried it before on these difficult US Open patterns. Maybe with a plastic ball.

I feel for you Brad. I bowled the 2004 us open. Being in the top percentage of house bowlers at that location I figured why not....I averaged 170 with a high game of 200. The most humbling experience of my life. It taught me how bad of a bowler I truly am. You guys make most shots look easy, but sometimes they are even next to impossible for you guys too. Only good thing about that open....I was ahead of Walter Ray after 1 game. He finished a little better than me. Keep up the good work and content

It seems a lot of followers have the same idea. Play outside with more predictable lines whether it is with urethane or plastic even when the conditions are that difficult. I watched Matt Sanders, another bowler at the 2023 US Open play that extreme outside line going directly over the first arrow. It looks like it worked! He made the top 10 I think after the third round. Now, he is going into match play. He hardly had to adjust off that line (for all 8 games) as everyone else seemed to be playing crazy angles and mucking it up!

And damn, could they make the pattern MORE challenging? I mean most who are at B&K's level usually have a philosophy of "there is no such thing as a pattern that ISN'T scoreable" but holy Christ. US Open is DEFINITELY an exception to that.
