    This video was a clear example of why it’s so important to have different bowling balls for different reactions and to have them do different things. Makes me want to bring more balls to tournaments and league versus what I normally do.

    I’ve thought about that too, but for league you’re always bowling on the same pattern, same lanes. You really only need 2-3 that you know how to throw on them

    Was fun watching you bowl tonight. My son had a blast seeing all the people he watches on KZread and was in aww on just how down to earth and humble everyone was. At one point he looked at me and was like, I was just standing next to .... for the last 30 min and thought it was just someone spectator like me.

    DT.....been rolling the rock for 50 years, and I can tell you your videos keep me inspired. Having coached HS for many years, the only advice I give you is just keep grinding. You're the pro....I'm not, but just be perfect up to the foul line. What happens 60 feet away is out of your control....and that goes for your competitors as well. Pullin' for ys all the way back here in Nebraska

    Funny story, when I was doing the regionals back in the 90’s I went to Roanoke and the word on the street was heavy oil pattern. Wrong they were dry and it was so bad we that a lot of us were weighing in house balls. I used a columbia blue dot lol and it was my second regional

    Do those pro tournaments work the same as a regular tournament? Like can you play side action for handicap/scratch singles/doubles etc? And does it pay out up to a certain number of spots? Or it’s just about making it over the pin count and trying to win individually ? Also I think you would’ve bowled a little better if you accepted my 1v1 challenge.

    This is how I see it. Most of the guys circled it out to around 8-10 from deep inside with a slower, heavy hand. It looks as Darren is going more down and in. Obviously, seeming like less margin for error.

    @@codyyellott117 Not at all. The plus and minus system is all based off a 200 average. For example, if you bowl a 205 game, you are +5 for that game. If you bowl a 180, you are -20 for that game.

    @@winonakid1990 yea that top number is a running total for all games. If you pause at 2:48, you can see the number shows Darren at -30 and the other 2 players on the other lane are -41 and +144. It's just easier to read where you're at rather than having a large number for your actual series. Remember, these guys are bowling dozens of games.

    Dude, you're my favorite bowler. I've been bowling for just over a year and I started with a 200 average. I always suck the first three weeks. A 473 and a 613. Then a 543 with a 246 game. Do better. I also need to do better

    @@Christopher_Black this video would be tricky to look at in regards to that. The pattern design dictated where to play, it just came down to finding the right angle to increase carry and miss-room (not much lol)

    Darren--after watching this video and several others lately that you have been posting I have noticed that on some first shots it seems as if you release is late and the ball is not coming off your hand consistently from shot to shot. Some of those shots your line of attack was right on but you ball did not finish correctly because of that release. Most of the time your release is butter smooth but watch this video and focus on your release. I believe it is costing you key count. Almost looks like your thumb is getting hung up on some of those throws.

    Im a newbie at watching the pros....can anyone explain why everyone seems to quickly move to the extreme left during the game block. It seems like the most difficult angle to hit the pocket flush, and uses all your ball momentum against your hook. Obviously its the correct thing to do because all these amazing pros seem to do it.....i just dont understand it.

    Everybody is throwing the ball the same place so that line dries out. Have to keep moving left as that happens. If you don't keep it in the oil, the ball loses energy making it harder to strke.
