Foe me, the moment of the 2000s has to be Del Potro's solitary grand slam win. Tennis for robbed with all his injuries. Great player but an even better personality.
Cant believe how amazing the quality for the 2000 womens final is... wish every old match could be restored like this

I started watching tennis in 2011 and am really disappointed that I missed women’s tennis in the 2000s. Seemed like there was a good mix of established guard, but also the opportunity for new players to break in. Some contrasting styles as well, Henin has one of the most elegant games I’ve seen.

Saddest thing for women's tennis was her early retirement. Variety went out the door and everyone copied the Williams playbook and were never gonna beat Serena at her own game. If Clijsters and her had played on, women's tennis would've had an amazing era from 2005-2012/13
No one would have thought “King of clay” win US open 4 times. That’s RAFA for you .

I mean, he was still maintaining a high level, but he was definitely not capitalizing on it for a bit before then. However, I agree, the 2002 win was historic. It is certainly the way we wish all of our idols would retire, with a bang! Unfortunately, that dream wasn’t realized for Federer with one last Wimbledon win. However, we can still hope for one last Rolland Garros win for Nadal, and I definitely think Novak is capable of winning one more Australian Open with the high level he’s at!!!
Pete, Roger and Justine 👍😍
Del Potrol's win was a Great moment and when Kim defeated Wozniacki. If you've ever had to hit an overhead you know how hard it is to do that. Try hitting one (at the net) at match point to win. You could see Kim almost buckling when she did something she's done a million times and then collapsed at the net for one helluva great win. That was a moment.
Man, I miss women’s tennis in the 2000s. Prime Williams Sisters, Clijsters, Henin, Kuznetsova, Dementieva, Davenport, Capriati, etc. Women’s tennis has really deteriorated this past decade.

Roddick played the worst match in that 1 year span from Queens 2003 - Wimbledon 2004 and Nalbandian still choked. Let's just ignore Roddick at Wimbledon 2004, when he was up, then the rain came and effected his performance. But when it's Nalbandian he gets a pass because [insert_excuse] Nalbandian has proven himself to be completely incompetent in the slams.
