US Navy Boot Camp Trick Marching

Ойын-сауық

1992, Great Lakes. This is what we did on our spare time with our CC. Paffe and Zermino taught us. We still sucked.

Graduation on the grinder... good day. Funny, if this Video was '92 these guys can all retire now. Sad that none of those old "ships" in the background are there anymore. Glad that when I went through in 2004 I got to go through one of the "old ships". Just went back last fall as a CPO with 3rd fleet and the motivation of our junior sailors is just as high as ever! The recruits want to impress you - Chiefs, Petty Officers, Officers... they all want to show you what they're made of!

Boot camp in San Diego in the summer of 1967 was much more serious, especially with the Blujackets Choir, Company 4007.

Thanks for sharing. Awesome! Reminds me of the good days of hardcore boot camp. I went to RTC San Diego back in 93 and I'm very proud. We used to say Great Lakes was Great Mistakes! haha

I went through Great Lakes in July of 93. I remember how much we drilled on marching preparing for graduation. This was totally unacceptable. Like others have said here, this looked terrible and sloppy.

Pt. 2 Also in the Navy, we get a shower everyday and we have a laundry and a clean dry bed to sleep in every night and we're usually not shot at or killed for the most part and when we are, the news makes a big deal about it, like a us ship just hit a mine or was attacked by a suicide boat, etc, etc,.

It's not just the new Navy. We did something we called "stop in place, harch" for our last marching competition.. in AF ROTC field training in 1971. It allows for individual initiative, and leadership, qualities our military has more than any other, to our advantage. It still takes unity to pull it off. Especially when it's invented at the unit level, flight in our case, platoon for the Army. Much smaller groups than the Divisions the Navy uses during recruit training.

If you have not joined and experienced the things we go through in the United States Navy then you do not kno the half of anything you are saying. Why yes the Army and Marines can go in and fight others and the Air Force can drop dome bombs, but the Navy can level whole countries, and not only that we have women all over the world who want a Sailor. So check yourself before you say something ignorant -signed A U.S. Navy Sailor

Pt. 1. Some bag on the Navy 'cause while they're out there killin' and dying in some hot dessert or mud hole with no showers for weeks or clean laundry and eating field rations, sailors are on a hotel on water. When we get up in the morning, the cooks ask, who do you want your eggs or what do you want on your omelet.

Pt. 3 Ground forces are dying all the time and the news doesn't make as much a deal about it. Air Force to other branches is basically a 9 to 5 job but everyone dresses the same. They get bagged on a lot too. Personally I think the Coast Guard and the Ground Forces deserve all the praise. Just my 2 pesos. :)

I cant say I understand why the "new?) navy, is trying to teach trick marching to recruits (especially to perform in front of civilians). In this video, the recruits are allowed to look like bumbling fools rather than future warriors. Marching is taught to perfect unity as well as coordination.

We did these same marches when I was in bootcamp in 1989. These guys are going WAY TOO FAST.....They're all out of step and damn near running. This is a bad example of U.S. Navy bootcamp marching. That shit would be embarrassing to show off to civilians. Company marching should be precise, professional, and NOT OVER RUSHED!!!!

You need to learn more about the deterrent effect of the US Navy. Your country like so many western countries and countries aligned with the west have no Navy because it is provided for you by NATO. That means the West and that implies the USA. So next time you drive your car or pedal you bike think about the ship that brought that to you and the sea lanes it travels. PAX AMERICANA

I do not know whether or not you have siblings, but why do people make fun of their siblings? Why do they compete with them and make fun of them? Those in the armed forces are brothers and sisters, who God formed out of the cries of peril and distress that come from war and those suffering around the world. We make fun of each other the same way and the same reason siblings do.
