I got to fly the CH53D, almost 1000 hrs in Vietnam, three tours at sea. No Marine ever got a scratch flying behind me, amazing aircraft. Only had two in flight system failures in 1500 hours. Still flying at age 76, would love to fly the CH53 K. Dimmer26 Capt USMC

What a waste of money. If it gets hit by a rocket it blows up, just like any other (cheaper) aircraft. Besides, who wants to protect soldiers? They are dumb enough to go fight other men's wars. - That's their fault, not the tax payers.

Can’t see many other countries landing numerous F-18s at night, round the clock, many times over in many locations all around the world. The cost of reaching that level of strategic power in terms of diplomacy, conflict, technological development and logistical organisation is like what they say of the most important works of art - it’s incalculable, invaluable. There is no country in the world that cannot ultimately appeal to the United States for protection and military assistance when threatened by a neighbouring regime and therefore, because conflict with the United States is not winnable, there can only be one superpower for the foreseeable future. All power to Uncle Sam and the guys out there keeping a close eye!

Amazing aircraft! I do wonder if some of these aircraft are too complex, expensive for mass production, war usage. Brings back memories of playing F22 raptor. Getting frustrated with the mid-air refueling, then using the guns on the tanker. Well I didn't do that again! lol In hindsight I should have expected the result! Being next to an exploding fuel tanker, there's only one outcome. I soo miss that game. But, I guess it's time for DCS.
