    Enjoy our re-make of the Theros-themed commander gameplay. Be sure to vote on the in-video poll to let us know which of these commanders you would like to see in a regular seasonal game! Again, apologies about the large misplays in the last attempt we made at this pod. We are working on improving our production system in order to cut down / eliminate any future game-changing misplays.

    Yeahhhhh, I've been sooooo hyped as soon as I saw Underworld Breach. Hot take, it does more to the meta than Thassa's Oracle. Hulk decks are still hulk decks, but this is such a boon to red!! Great example of its power Casually Competitive!

  • @jordanburton9819

    @jordanburton9819

    4 жыл бұрын

    There doesn't exist a card with Thassa's Oracles ability, for only 2 mana, and on an ETB, it's very strong. Underworld Breach is good, but in many decks it's like just Yawg's Will.

  • @ben.shields

    @ben.shields

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@jordanburton9819 that's why I put the tongue in cheek disclaimer of "hot take". Oracle's strong, better than Jace. It unifies consult and hulk. I think it's the number 1 win con. But it doesn't fundamentally change how the meta fights hulk or consult. At the end of the day you still counter flash or the pact / consult. That's all I'm saying. On the other hand, Breach is way beyond YawgWin in Opus Thief style decks

  • @martinnagy9916

    @martinnagy9916

    4 жыл бұрын

    Ben Shields true but Flash Hulk is just miserable to fight, since it forces suboptimal play patterns from all other players at the table. Before Oracle, you could at the very least tell yourself that they have to fill up their deck with dead weight like Narcomoeba, Dread Return etc. making their topdecks worse than those of other decks. Now they get to slot in like 6 cards for their combo, none of those being a terrible topdeck on its own (except maybe a part of the breakfast combo) and fill the rest up with juice.

  • @ben.shields

    @@martinnagy9916 the best deck is the best deck and it got better. It is what it is. Is it really miserable?

  • @martinnagy9916

    @martinnagy9916

    4 жыл бұрын

    Ben Shields I actually think it is, since before the printing of Oracle, Flash Hulk decks werent the strongest decks in the cEDH meta in my opinion. The so-called CST decks offered early lines to victory in Scepter or Consult and had exceptionally good lategame because they didn‘t really need to run dead cards like dread return etc. Yeah, they missed the raw speed of hulk, but made up for that with card quality. With oracle however, you don‘t get punished in deckbuilding (through the need to incorporate parts of a hulk pile), and can sit back on your flash from t2, waiting for the perfect window, giving you the hulk speed and the cst lategame grind ability. Take all of this with a grain of salt though, since I am just salty that I now need to buy oracle, hulk and flash :-)

    I couldn't understand as well. They must have forgotten it was on the battlefield, specially with how long the turn was... Noxious Revival was a weak interaction in this situation. But it was for free, and they would loose the card anyway. So I guess if they remembered, their objective was to make Bill loose resources, specially if he used Doom Whisperer, as his life was already kind of low.
