Value of 6.9 is definitely high in case of females. If your doc said that u need some medicine , that might be based on your age , past medical history, current clinical history , physical examination and various risk factors. Dr K MD

If the peroson u are talking about is a male . It is a normal value. Pain due to in teased uric acid will be limited to the greater toe only . Speak with ur doctor to rule out other causes Dr K MD

You might need to check with your doctor and if the clinical picture is suggestive of gout, he might place you on some medication.

For the kidney stones , current guidelines say u should not limit anything , instead u need to drink more water . If ur local weather conditions are tropical and humid u may need to take little excess to compensate that also . Ur uric acid levels seems to be fine for a male Dr K MD

It is in normal range . In general Normal Range in Males is 3.5 to 7 mg/dL & in Females is 2.5 to 5.5 mg/dL . However reference ranges given by your testing laboratory needs to be followed.

Symptoms are most likely not due to uric acid . U need to check with ur doctor to rule out other causes, especially as multiple joints are involved

U need to understand that uric acid is the by-product of DNA present in your cells. U can't flush out all the uric acid . U just need to control the levels medically if they are high Dr K MD

Interpret Your Lab Tests I was suffering from Stiff knees and everytime even without doing exercise i am getting ankel swelling. I checked with bone xray and nerve check everything fine doc said. But when i did blood test my uric acid level is 8.6 and doc gave me some medicines. For few days pregavox xr50, manika-d, Thenac -plus and more to use zeloric. Does this help me in relieving? Any suggestions whether my uric acid level is too high or what? And my age is 29, male, and i have obseity also my height is 5.8 and weight is 103. if both are elevated then kidney issues needs to be ruled out . Check with ur doctor

Uric acid metabolism is different in different people . One set of people are Over producers ( produce more uric acid) other Under secretors ( excrete less uric acid in urine ) .People who tend to produce more uric acid are the most common and zyloric will inhibit a key enzyme which produces uric acid . People with kidney failure also have more uric acid levels ( excrete less from the body), however other parameters like Creatinine and Urea will also be increased in them . Creatinine is the most sensitive test for evaluating kidney function . Presence of a normal Creatinine absolutely rules out kidney problems . Please follow what ur doctor says and continue what he prescribes. Dr K MD

U can test for those to clarify your doubts but most likely they will be normal . Your doctor might have already evaluated for kidney problems while examination. The clincial presentation will be different in kidney disorders . Does ur husband have any symptoms btw ?? Dr K MD

Allupurinol medication with lots of water reduce everybodys uric acid levels in 3-6 months. I had frequent gout attacks now my uric acid levels drops to 375 from 533 in 3 months and no gout attacks since start of medication. Consult your doctor before.
