John Lawton was so good, great and wonderful as David Byron. Long Life URIAH HEEP, best rock band ever!!!

I love this album. John Lawton is a fantastic singer. This version of The Wizard is my favorite.

Yeah. Too bad he’s really not the singer Uriah Heep needed, his singing style surely doesn’t fit well with these songs hate to say.

Apparently, the Heep fans do not find this clip. I also accidentally stumbled upon it. I have two discs recording Heep's concerts with John Lawton. I listen with great pleasure and I am always amazed at the strength and expressiveness of the performance of Lawton.

What can I say ... John just fantastic, we love you ! So sad you are gone R.I.P. good man 😢😢😢

I love the music of Uriah Heep bot not the treatment of John Lawton 😡 for example: on the CD "Choices" he is not even mentioned !

Powerful vocals. Technically much better singer than Byron.

They cannot be compared, they have completely different voices. I much prefer David Byron, but Lawton did the songs in his own way.

@@wrecklessb6 Guess you didnt heard Lawtons work with his main band Lucifers Friend before he joined Uriah Heep John Lawton has biggest vocal range from all the singers who ever been in Uriah Heep he is also virtuoso... i like Byron he has great voice also unique as Lawton but hes range is limited on high falsettos similar to Roger Taylor in Queen this is the reason why he sing always lower when he got high he often switch into falsetto David has operatic voice he and Ken Hensley created and developed that unique harmonies which inspired more famous Queen and Freddie Mercury on their early work... John Lawton has soul blues jazz voice Lawton is inspired by black virtuoso singers masters like Aretha Franklin and Mahalia Jackson...these two are different singers yet they belong to the golden trio Mercury,Lawton,Byron the most unique and versatile singers of all time :) all of them unique now only Lawton is still alive and rocking... after Lawton there are no singers like them left its make me sad... that these oldschool sensational voices will disapear... all of them...

There was no replacement of David Byron , just a bunch of fill ins making most of David's works seem like covers. Don't get me wrong I love Uriah Heep , but without David is like queen without Freddie Mercury

You may imagine that in Queen instead of Freddie Mercury appeared singer with a more powerful and beautiful voice than Freddy.

I hate to say it but Lawton’s vocals ruin the classic songs, he just can’t apparently do them

Lawnton's good but Byron's better imo
