What a wonderful masterpiece, anyone in 2024?❤😊

I'm 70 years old and still young to love this old song from young ages. Music keep me younger than reality. The Uriah Heep is one of the best rock bands ever.

This is a monument of rock music. Future generations will listen to it with more and more respect.

I used to sing this songs to my daughter's when they we're babies. Today my 22 years old daughter phoned me to sing me a song she couldn't remember the name...it was lady in black of the same album..we are Spaniards the meaning of the song is hard so she told me: you were giving us the strength to carry with life..her name is janis, she loves pink Floyd, Uriah heep, the doors I guess I'm a good mother,,😅

My grandmather was 1902 born , and she like this song !

This song gives us all the gravitas forced upon us by ugly war yet it does so in melodic, melancholy brilliance! Hensley's words, Byron's vocals and the instrumental wonder that is, combined, Uriah Heep!

I have never known a band with such a wide range of vocal and choral harmonies. I bought my first UH LP in 1970. Love at first sight, or rather at the first riff. Never ending love.

И все пять пели ,не встречал больше такой группы.ни с кем не перепутать стиль.

Всегда считал настоящий Uriah Heep начиная с альбома Salisbury и заканчивая альбомом Conquest (с подавляющим авторством Кена Хенсли)...На первом альбоме он пришел, когда материал был готов, и только аранжировал песни...там слушаю только Come Away Melinda(это кавер, если не ошибаюсь)... После 1980-го года альбомы порой неплохи, но это уже другая группа( можно отметить альбомы Acoustically Driven , The Magician's Birthday Party с участием Хенсли и Лотона)...

im a big Uriah Heep fan , however it took me a long time to get into the Salisbury albums. Every song is different . The Park is a nice song

I feel music i feel sound my soul

I bought this album because my mate already had Very 'eavy. I thought I'd made a mistake at the time. Then - after a little while I realised I'd bought gem.

This was instantly one of my favourite songs on Salisbury. I regret I waited for many years before buying this special album, that flirted with progressive rock. Wlel, I've owned the albmu for maybe 30 years yet bu tI stayed with Demons and wizards, The Magician's Birthday and Look At Yourself for too long before gooing further. It's quite different from the first and from the one that followed, indeed. Anyway, the Park stays a big favourite to this day. This showed that Ken Hensley and the band could create gentle music full of delicacy with a beautiful melody...

It reminds me of “Leaf and Stream” by Wishbone Ash until the electric part begins. That part reminds me of Yes’ Buffalo Springfield cover, “Everydays”.

De los temas suaves de Uriah Heep, este y circus del sweet freedom son sublimes.

By '75 Byron would be sacked, and died way too soon, but these early Heep albums...wow! His voice ranks up there with the best like Plant, Gillan, Dio, add any others. The man had a great range.

I watched a documentary on KZread about Gary Thain, the bass player on 5 lps. He died from a heroin overdose after being almost electrocuted by accident on stage. He was an addict at that point and left the band. Byron was an alcoholic and was fired. After some solo efforts, he drank himself to death. Mick Box said the touring took its toll on the band, and they drank to much etc. He and Hensley, Kerslake made it through.

Of course Giacomo here from USA but retired in italy

This song in which the group uses the melody of an old Bolivian Christmas carol, anonymous? called? "Nacimiento", and features progressive rock in the band's first foray into large-scale composition . Hensley continues to collect royalties, despite it not being his subject.

You know what I wish? Kids in their teens and 20s would listen to Uriah Heep. One comment I am sick of hearing from every video of every band I see is”brings me back to my high school days.” So that is the only time you will explore music. I was not even close to being alive yet when Heep came out and I love them. I listen to music as far back as the 1500s and a lot of it I like. Also listen to todays music to see what I like. I can understand why people did not explore music decades ago. Now there is no excuse. Kids and young people don’t want to explore music beyond their generation or what corporations say is worthwhile. Popularity does not equal quality. Music should come from the heart. Every era should be explored and people can pick out themselves what they like and don’t like. There is no reason why anyone cannot listen to three albums a day each by a different musician. That’s the way to do it.

Sadly... Bassist Gary Thain and great vocalist David Byron died with with needles in their arms from heroin overdoses... Just plain sad...drugs are
