    I was this many years old when I realized people grate soap for laundry. You can use dish soap as well. Get the free and clear kind that doesn’t have fragrance or additives.

    Instead of using laundry bar soap like Fels-Naptha or Zote. I suggest using Castile Soap. It's not all full of chemicals. It comes on bars if you feel like grating but also liquid for those of us who don't.

    The soap is a surfactant. Bar soap (for washing) has lye in it and like the maker of this video says is alkaline. Liquid dish soap is for breaking down fats/oils.

    Try Marsiglia soap. I use it on plants infected by aphids too.

    Most any type of dish soap will work. About a squirt in a gallon of water. I used to work for a crop duster in the 80s we used a component we called sticker - spreader to help the chemicals stick to the leaves. Basically dish soap.
