What is Urethral Stricture? What are the causes of failure of urethroplasty??
A urethral stricture is a process of scarring in or nearby the urethra, which is a tube connecting the urinary bladder to the urinary meatus (for the elimination of urine from the body), which results in the narrowing or blocking of the urinary passage. It occurs more commonly in men as compared to women
What are the common causes of urethral stricture?
Any infection, inflammation, or urethral injury that occurs due to any instrumentation or former foley’s catheterization can result in urethral stricture.
What are the symptoms of Urethral strictures?
slow urine stream, spraying a stream of urine, Painful urination, reduction in the urine output, inadequate emptying of the bladder, and recurrent urinary tract infection.
What is the treatment for Urethral Stricture?
Urethral stricture treatment can only be done by surgical intervention as medicines are not effective
Diagnosis: RGU and MCU (retrograde and antegrade urethrogram are imaging techniques that can help in pinpointing the length, severity, and position, of the stricture.

Treatment: The selection of treatment of urethral stricture depends upon the length and severity of the stricture. Short strictures: for strictures that are short dilation or cutting the stricture with the help of a laser or knife under the guidance of a specially designed video cystoscope (urethrotomy). Long/recurrent strictures: these strictures involves surgically removing the stricture after which the reconstruction of the area with grafts (buccal /lingual mucosal urethroplasty)is done or in order to end anastomotic urethroplasty

नमस्कार सर. मैं महाराष्ट्रासे हुं. मेरी पेशाब बंद हो गई थी. फिर लेजर ऑपरेशन किया. उसके बाद 8/9 महिने मैं क्यालिब्रेशन के लिये जाता था. पिछले महिने 3 पाईप मे से पहिला छोटा वाला पाईप अंदर चला गया लेकीन 2 नंबर वाला पाईप पुरा नहीं जा पाया. सब देड पाईप ही गया. फिर dr बोले अगले महिने हम मशीन पर क्यालिब्रेशन करेंगे. कल मैं क्यालिब्रेशन के लिये वापिस गया था. उन्होंने एक बहोत ही छोटी सी तार जैसा वायर अंदर डाल दिया औंर एक्सरे मशीन पे देख रहे थे. वायर अंदर नहीं गई बीचमे फोल्ड होती थी.dr ने कहा अभी पेशाब हो रहा है. तो होणे दो जब कोई तकलिब होगी या पेषाब जादा कम होगी तब एक्सरे करके आगे का इलाज कारेंगे. मैं टेन्शन मे हुं क्या करू मुझे प्लीज गाईड करे ये विंती है 🙏🙏🙏🙏
