    Just 12 more to the 500 subs that's 300 In the last 2 weeks. congratulations dear. The budget plants is a good go. The solo cup feels sooo unnatural for you. But it does feel more like an experiment in the solo cups. I'm hoping you find a few other discount orchids since phals are one of the few who can use urea. I'm sooooooo exited to watch this journey with you. Your amazing and please when you shoot of In to KZread stardom. Don't forget us little people 😘 Much love kind regards rose 🌹

    You're too sweet rose! I know, it's crazy how quickly this channel has grown. I feel so touched that people even care enough to watch! And yes, I've been using the urea formula for all my orchids (not just phals) for months already, so switching all of them to urea free should be pretty telling.

    Michael's Orchids Thanks dear ❤ But aboit the eura thats treu that you used it for months But it can take a looooog time for plants to show fertilizer related progress or decline. You changed so much in the last month. Humidity what will make your plants grow better You changed water because of the tds readings. And thats will change the plants progress. In aquarium care we learn that if you change someting now it can take up to 12 weeks to see the full effects of that 1 change. And are warned to only make 1 change and dont draw conclusions after 2 weeks. And them change it again. And since plants and there media also are small microclimates the changes you made last month can take up to 3 months to fully show the impact and stabilise in that new inviroment and new water and fertilizer amounts (your not over feeding anymore ) So just take that into account when you observe and take notes. Ajum let me re frase that... I would advise to take all that into account when you observe and take notes. Since it might compromise the outcome of the experiment somewhat. I will never ever tell you how or what to do. I'm just giving you some of my experiance in a diff. Field. And hope it's gives you inside or atleast some inspiration or stuff to think about. Or not whahhahaha Either way it's always a pleasure watching your videos. And ofc its totally understandable loads of people feel the same way. I have bin telling you from the start you have that X factor. Your warm amd endearing your smart you teach like you have done that foe 20 years. And your vids are methodical well thought out are about the logical steps into this hobby. In an understandable way. Without snoby ness or to much complicated information. So im not surprised at your popularity. Im just happy for you. ❤ Kind regards rose 🌹

    The urea based depending on temperature may act as a delayed release. The enzymes on the roots will help convert the urea to useable nitrogen within about 24-36 hours. Take a look at Rick L's channel. So much of urea vs non-urea has to do with specific environment. My temps are minimum of 77 degrees Fahrenheit at present. Into the mid 90's. This means the activity will be increased and turned to usable nitrogen more quickly. Ph of water also makes a difference in uptake of different nutrients. Check out Rick L's channel. Goes in depth with urea vs. non-urea fertilizer and how it can and cannot work for you.

    Curious to see how it works in your environment. Works very well in mine due to the increased heat and humidity. Also, the use of fungicides, etc. can slow the conversion from urea as the enzymes and bacteria may be killed by the use of the products. Just something to consider.

    Good morning! I love that your experimenting because it helps the rest of us see what happens when different factors are changed. I do, however, have one concern. One of the fertilizers is balanced and the other is not. Wouldn't that also affect the different changes we might see in these two orchids apart from urea vs. urea free?

  • @MichaelsOrchids

    @MichaelsOrchids

    7 жыл бұрын

    You raise a very valid concern Natalie! The urea free formula will have a slightly lower phosphorous content. But in my preparation for this experiment, I connected with a few experts and got the following feedback: the balanced formula is not actually balanced if the plants cannot process the 10% urea based nitrogen. So in theory, they are both imbalanced formulas.

    Hi, like your idea on testing Urea vs Urea Free. I'm a new bee to the Orchid world, only 9 months in. I started my journey by using the Grow More (Yellow ) Urea formula with tap water. Then I heard the same thing, Urea is bad for Orchids, so I switched to the Urea free formula (Green). But wait, then I hear that the hardness of my tap water prevents my Orchids from absorbing nutrients.so I switched to distilled water with my Urea free formula (Green), but then I learn that the Grow More products do not include the macro nutrients ( Calcium and magnesium) that are in tap water. Now I'm starting my first summer with the MSU fertilizer with distilled water. I hope that i'm done switching. time will tell. I don't know if I heard you correctly on your experiment, that you were going to use distilled water with the Grow More products, but if you are, I'm also curious on how they will do with out ( Calcium and magnesium). I have learned many things from (Miss Orchid Girl)also. She also does experiments too. Keep the videos coming.

    Hi Joe! Your learning curve is almost identical to mine as it pertains to watering protocols. Here is my solution: I use distilled water with my grow More Fertilizer and use that solution to fill my water reservoir. But once every week, I flush the hydroponic system with tap water (which is heavy with calcium and magnesium). Once I add the Fertilizer solution to the water reservoir, the plant is able to take up the nutrients from both the tap and from the Fertilizer, which makes a HUGE difference.

    This is a great idea using the two similar orchids, I would like to see a different family of orchids with the same side-by-side treatment, such as slipper orchids (of course my faves).I have a couple of batches of deflasked seedlings, several months old.. I don't fertilize them very much at all yet though :( (Tender Phrags) Close to 500 Michael!! Omg one of the "suggested" "up next" videos have one where someone is using actual urine to fertilize plants SMH!!!

    Somebody told me, mind you they have no plant experience, but they responded to me saying I can't use this fertilizer, its urea based...he said, don't you think in nature animals pee on plants . so after that I didn't feel so bad about using it.

    That is the argument; urine is definitely present in the grow environment of orchids, so the question is if it is a good or effective source of nitrogen

    you know me your KZread grandmother I'll use the fertilizer that my young boys on KZread and my older man on KZread older men being my age the urea thing that sounds like the following question to me to pee or not to pee that is the question. under the tree under the porch that is my question. so since the orchids that I will someday put under my tree will be peed on and the orchids that are in my porch they will not be peed on then which one do you think will do better. the ones that are in my porch are in lava rock and clay pots with holes. the ones that are in my orchid corner RN baskets with lava rock the other one bare-rooted and the third one lava rock bark and spagna Moss. and are under a palm tree they don't get as many birds. who do you think will do better???😝👉👵👈
