URBEX | STUNNING control room at an abandoned power station
Help us to get through the COVID-19 pandemic by buying our books; over 800 pictures taken in over 70 countries of the best abandoned places worldwide with info & history: exploringtheunbeatenpath.myon...
In this series we're on a roadtrip in Romania. After exploring long forgotten churches in the Romanian mountains we continue our trip and have some industrial locations on the list. We manage to get inside a historical power station with an amazing control room in art deco style.

Magnificent. A cathedral to man's ingenuity. A perfect culmination of science, design, art, and the desire to lead mankind out of the darkness.

Thanks for the poetic comment!
Such a stunning piece of industrial architecture. Shame that most of the Art Deco control rooms have already been lost throughout the years here in Europe
I think those were ink reservoirs for fountain pens in the control room. The grooves in the base to hold the pens. :-)
Saw the snapshot in the previous video, was waiting for this one!

I really think that the thing you called ashtray at 7:51 is in fact a double inkwell. My great-grandfather used to have similar.

I love how you guys really manage to set the mood with these perfect images and music 👌🏼👌🏼
glad to see you making these Romanian exploring videos :))

I love these art deco control rooms . Majestic and beautiful.

What a great find, Bob!
So many gauges, switches, clocks, and cool lights, so little time... Very cool place guys...
Gents, your show is really top notch, like professional. I've seen many other urbex channels and they are mostly clowns in comparison. Little respect for safety, preservation, research or documentation with the rest. I believe you are setting the standard. Keep up the good work, be safe, and the book is gorgeous.
Awesome places and footage !
Nice to see everything not busted up and no graffiti. Definitely like the control room love the art deco look. Awesome video

Amazing art deco one :)
As I sit here and watch this from a modern, much less impressive set up control room, the PC's that replaced it all far superior, however much less impressive visually and has much less of the feel that this place would have had, great history!
Nice as always
Amazing!
Enjoyed the power station tour!
Man this crypt at the end was something

Een echte topper ja☺️
Dikke locatie weer gasten! En super dikke video natuurlijk. Ik heb er weer van genoten.
Love to know was there a game cartridge in the Nintendo system ? It looks like on the console in the control room, above the 2 ashtrays is a similar stepped piece of wood, but with a square hole that maybe had a lighter in it! Hope they do open it to the public!
Fantastic adventures, superior photography and editing!
impressive
Sulzer is a Swiss pump manufacturer. I can only assume that was the feedwater pump which controls the pressure in the waterwalls of the boiler.
But what the heck is still on in that powerhouse? Great to hear it's being preserved - like many of the places you visited, I'd have liked to camp out there for a few days ...
Every time I watch one of your videos i cry because you are doing the one thing my heart so much desires. Since I was a child I always dream about exploring and visiting old abandoned or forgotten places. And every time I think of it I hate the people in this land more and more. Im a conservative and Im an absolute maniac when it comes to Real history and not the shit they teach you in school today. The reason for crying is that Im living in a country where it is even dangerous to take a stroll alone up our beautiful mountain because of people who does not care 2 fucks about life or irreplaceable and priceless artifacts. They are unable to see any beauty in historical or private property. If a factory has to close down tomorrow in 3 months the entire inside would be gutted and smashed. And with no chance to ever explore because of the danger of putting you life on the line I drive past places with a stone in my heart and with tears of anger and sadness to know I will never be able to see our once beautiful country of which I have never experienced. Thank you for your time and effort so that I may also have a glimps into how everything worked in the old and forgotten days, even if i cannot even explore in my own country out of fear and destruction.

Will start to record more of the adventure, like in the previous episode of the abandoned churches :) (But it takes A LOT of time to edit though..)
That sounds like a transformator? Pretty shure those sounds do not come out of thin air :P Anything like that wouldbe seen as a fire hazard in the Netherlands. But you are not at the royal Shell. Smoking would probaly do no harm if there are no explosive protection gasses. (I would not think they want to gas theire workers).
