But what looks like rubbish is more prized than ever as a commodity: stainless steel.Demand is currently higher than the combined production of all the mines in the world. We've been doing this for hundreds of years, it's nothing new
Interesting report. But do they really pick out the contaminants manually? Do they have a more systematic way to sort out the contaminants? Wish they have show more of that.

Much of it is ' production scrap ', scrap direct from steel manufacturing plants, left over material from the manufacturing of steel products.
A truck load of scrap weath 60K euros!!! scrap made of gold?
Stainless Steel was invented in my home town by inventor Elwood Haynes

@@Slavicplayer251 Harry Brearley (18 February 1871 - 14 July 1948) was an English metallurgist, credited with the invention of "rustless steel" (later to be called "stainless steel" in the anglophone world). Based in Sheffield, his invention brought affordable cutlery to the masses, and saw an expansion of the city’s traditional cutlery trade.[1]

He invented the metal alloy stellite and independently co-discovered martensitic stainless steel along with Englishman Harry Brearley in 1912

Plastic can be burned to make energy.
At least Germany still had steelworks. God help Germany now Merkel's got back in.
