:D Just a shame that there are no video's of their performances in little clubs... Way better... Vooruit, Democrazy...stagediving all night I have jumped 100s times in one night :D

These guys were live so good.....enjoyed it then, enjoy it now. Thanks for the good times!

They toured with the Beastie Boys the year before and inspired the Beasties to pick up their instruments and record "Check your head" But while touring with the Beasties the UDS were also inspiring two concert attendees named Zach DeLaRocha and Tom Morello to start a band of their own: Rage against the machine.

Yeah man! It's real good to be able to see this! I do remember purchasing their first two albums back in the day as it were! Never got to actually see them...though! Excellent!

UDS wat een show, hoe ver voor hun tijd..RAM, Downset, e.v.a..UDS was de pionier.. rap,metal, politiek gedreven shit..in mijn geheugen gegrift: Urban Dance Squad..de enige echte metal rapcrossover..toen ooit..live in 1990..

nog steeds na al die jaren heb ik deze muziek op een cassettebandje,want ik was te laat voor het concert zelf natuurlijk

Erik van der Velde Puur vanuit muzikaal standpunt kan ik me op z'n minst een beetje identificeren met een band als de UDS. Ooit kreeg ik het kompliment dat ik integere muziek maak. Dat vind ik ook van de UDS. Niet een band die z'n ziel verkoopt aan n platenmaatschappij of MTV. Trots zijn heeft in dit geval meer met cultuur dan met afkomst te maken weetjewel. Ik hoop je vraag een beetje te beantwoorden al is het moeilijk een gevoel onder woorden te brengen.

It´sDutch and not Flemish..

uds was a hard sell at the time because they were trying to look like something and that did not fly for me. authenticity ruled, so i was looking at bands like fugazi, bad religion and metallica(the black album ruined that for me the next year.). Now, however, i see that these were just talented kids dressing how they were told to get on with spreading their music. also, zach owes this dude an apology for biting his style.

I'm sure they paved the way for Rage Against The Machine

ratm remembers them, the squad is even thanked on the first cd of ratm. the squad was their biggest influence. zack de la rocha saw the squad playing live and it gave him the idea to start a band of himself.

This Pinkpop performance was way before RATM was even founded, in the year after this concert Tom Morello played as supportact before UDS in the States, a few days after he started RATM, he got the cross-over rock part right, but never equalled the groove, steaming funk, Carribean flavor and Vocal quality of UDS, left alone the meaning of the lyrics......
