They cant afford renting a stadium, This is a low budget series,,, sad that they tried too much and it fails the expectations.. Even the Toguro doesnt seem scary at all.., i was expecting like close to HULK like effects transformation of muscles,, using 20% 40% 60% 80%, in this series, he used more than 100% all at once,

This was solid. I'd rather it be nice choreography and a decent story than they try to go too big and make it goofy like Dragon Ball or the first Airbender.

Honestly they did a good job with only 5 episodes. My friend (never watched YYH btw) watched the live action with me and he really enjoyed it and could follow along pretty well. I just wish we had more episodes to see the teams relationship develop more naturally and so we could have the dark tournament. With this level of acting and choreography, it would've been amazing. It's a shame that they condensed so much into only 5 episodes.

It was well made for such a rushed and condensed series. They skipped over way too much content with character development and their training and had to change how the Dark Tournament went down which was really good in the anime. It's too bad they didn't write the show better and stick to how the anime or manga went with a longer series. It could have been way better.

Although was expecting the other arcs in a multi season show not a this really condensed version, I really like what they did❤

It is an adaptation considering they were trying to condense a lot of storylines in one season. The main purpose of adaptations like these is to hook in new fans to see the original anime and manga

This sucked, the fights were good but the reason the anime was so great was the character and this had 0 character development, they should have spent more time there n ended at the genkai tournament or tarukana arch

actually the show is awesome, well transfered and adapted to live-action, it is understendable the change, 5 episodes, low budget and they make it perfect, the true meaning of the same but not the same, 10/10

The fight scenes are great. Imagine if they put the same effort for the whole Dark Tournament if they made it. It would be the greatest live action adaptation. And the production cost is not that huge, like Hollywood huge, but they made it so entertaining.

apart from them not including the dark tournament, as well as the other fighters, or even other demons, this was the best anime live action i've ever seen! toguro was one of me favorites. especially since his evil motives were just a mask. what he really wanted was to die by someone stronger than him and pay for his mistakes

the anime is my 2nd favorite of all time, this made me feel nostalgic. Just 5 episodes and they got it. I would love to see a live action version of sensui, and raizen in this.

For how condensed it is, it's not bad, but I would honestly LOVE a full dark tournament arc with this kind of fight choreography.

One of my all time favourite anime i would say and most popular as well. Watching this scene surely shows that the future of real live action movie of anime adaptation is in good hands, and the fight sequence are brilliant. Excellent work by the team who made it possible for anime lovers to watch it as live-action movie, but don't wrap it up by editing major imp details. The tournament of power season arc was the best. ❤❤❤❤😂

This is why directors should be fans of the anime they're creating. Dude pretty much rewrote the entire story, and just using the Yu Yu Hakusho name to get viewers.

im sure why they didn't do the dark tournament arc is because soley the budget and they need to do a test season to see how well the ratings are... imagine how much the cgi and visual effects cost to shoot each fight... even the background of demons in the stadium... still awesome and unexpected that we got a live adaption. yu yu hakusho is one of the best OG animes.

the fact that hiei in later chapter able to oneshot each of 100 demons much stronger than younger toguro in this scene is unexpected :V

I honestly don't know how to judge this. On one hand, I am beyond thrilled that they gave YuYu enough respect to even attempt this, and the fight scenes aren't bad for live action. On the other hand, this feels like a fan made cosplay fight more that a live adaptation done by a professional studio.

As someone who hasnt seen them OG show, this cg and fight imo is avtually what adaptations should look like, I quite enjoyed this!!

Well, as a long-time fan I must say, this was beautifully executed and did a great job with the casting of Toguro and making him a threatening enemy without going cartoonish

The idea, the staging of the battles is just fire - I wish there were more such spectacular films and TV series with Russian translation.

The 'very nice' was so awesome. Gotta love Japan. Did a great job adapting this to the big screen and I really hope to see it all play out. At the very least until the Toguro arc is finished.

If they only have a budget this would be fire, but this fight is very beautiful i like this😁

I don't even think I blinked while watching this. Fan of the OG anime....I'll have to check this live action version out sometime soon.

3:43 gave me chills.

If they put this much love and energy into a fully fleshed out show that included the Dark Tournament arc, it could have easily rivaled the best shows on Netflix. All in all, this was a phenomenonal adaptation. I hope the same team handles all future live-action anime titles.

Cmon. Regardless of how accurate this is, you gotta love seeing these three fight together. Its something ive always wanted to see in the anime. The ending of both OPs have team urameshi standing together and fighting and we never got it. That alone makes this kind of cool to see

I usually hate live actions…I knew it wouldn’t match the story but man was the choreography AMAZING! It really felt like anime battles come to life. This is one of the best live actions I’ve seen ngl.

This takes me back playing that SNES video game which up til now the coolest and most unique fighting game but with a rock/paper/scissor gameplay.

幽遊白書と言われたら変な感じが あるけれど、アクション自体は 見応えあるので楽しいですね！ パロディとしてとか、ifとしてなら 面白いかも！

Man this was better than expected, I’m glad they at least gave the legendary series the respect it deserves and gave it a shot. Honestly it’s damn good for what they had to work with, I’m impressed as a long time fan.

The casting was excellent, the special effects were unbelievable, and they stayed as true to the story as they could considering the constraints they had. Some people are just unappreciative. They did this show a great deal of justice. This is the best live action of any anime I have seen. WHICH IS GREAT, since Yu Yu Hakasho is one of the best animes ever

Becuase they only have 5 episodes. I genuinely don't know why fans are so irrational when it comes to this stuff. Anime pacing and storytelling does not work work with TV serialization. One Piece would not have been as successful if they just followed the original arc, it would have been a mess. Even if they had 50 episodes they wouldn't be able to tell the original story of the anime. It just doesn't work. Anime fans have to stop taking this kind of stuff as some kind of insult or disrespect and understand that the original medium just can't be replicated. The original story will always be there for people to enjoy, it wasn't destroyed or ruined. The Live Action would only work with a different plot, but they deserve praise for being able to preserve the characters and the tone.

I think what made us fans love the original is the character development or the relationships they made. I def didn't want a full length multiepisodes of the dark tournement. This wasn't bad if you watch this as someone who never seen the show.

Okay so 1) Yusuke would NEVER allow himself to get help in a fight. Its just not his thing. 2) torguro would have immediately killed hiei and kurama and keiko if he thought it would bring out all yusuke latent power (though he probably would have awoken the mazaku 2 seasons early) mmmm Idk man

They could’ve made the setting like the tournament though and it would’ve made it slightly better. Some demons in the crowd on the bench. Dialogue from some of the other fighters maybe. But I think overall this series was good. Hope they make more.

This Series is by far the best adaptation

I did enjoy this live adaptation. Sure it would have been awesome if we got the entire Dark Tournament but if they really wanted to make it like the anime and extend it they would need more episodes and the dark tournament would probably be season 2 while season one covered Yusuke's revival the Kurama and Hiei encoutners and the sacred beasts, but if this does well maybe the chapter black and demon world arcs (if they make them) can be longer especially the demon world arc.

No Dark Tournament as per Anime version, but it seems to be similar to the YuYu Hakusho Anime Film: Poltergeist Report version where they have street battles.
