On this week's episode of TheFallenState TV, host Jesse Lee Peterson is joined by U.C. Berkeley Ph.D. candidate, community organizer, and Black Lives Matter L.A. activist David Turner. David has been a part of Black Lives Matter since 2014. In this interview, Jesse wants to get to the bottom of why black Americans are really struggling nowadays-what is the root cause? How can the struggle be truly fixed? While David blames institutional and systemic racism, Jesse maintains that the root cause is spiritual and it starts with the family. Don't miss this epic debate between two black men on one of today's most divisive and controversial groups!

The mental gymnastics these people go through to not answer his simple questions is hilarious. Jesse knows exactly when to pull the 1 2 punch on their circular ideas. He is great at getting them to admit without admitting their ideas are flawed. I love how he does this so simply!

The host keeps asking very simple questions to which the answers are NOT simple though. The guest did a great job of revealing that, and exposing Peterson as a dumbass for repeatedly asking. It's the same as if you said to me now "But the mental gymnastics these people go through." I would have to explain again, perhaps trying different wording in order to explain how Peterson asks loaded questions which end up revealing him to be a moron. "But the mental gymnastics these people go through." Again, Peterson is deliberately asking questions which he knows have complex answers, as if they have simple answers, which reveals how disingenuous he is. "But the mental gymnastics these people go through." 🤨 There come a point when you have to understand you're dealing with the mentally retarded.

I spent 39 years in education. 16 as a teacher and 23 as an administrator. These 39 years of my work, some at low income schools and some at wealthy neighborhoods. Statistically black and hispanic kids got in trouble the most. Again, both black and Hispanic kids underperformed the rest of the student body. As a brown and Spanish administrator, i can say that the data does not lie. Students mostly got in trouble within their groups, very seldom did they get in trouble because of racism. We need to look at culture. Look at Baltimore as case study, BILLIONS have been poured into their city and they still have the same results.

It is incredible to see an educated man so obviously denying conclusions that are so obvious. He asked him about the role of the parents and a stable family with a functioning marriage and positive influence, and we can see how much he is resisting accepting this important part into the equation. There is this paradigm he just doesn't want to challenge at all. That is not an academic mindset, or even an open-minded effort to examine a challenge and a problem. This is essentially a dogmatic approach to coming about life. His goal is to see himself as a member of the "educated elite" and to be morally above the opposing side. He isn't looking to be correct, regardless of what that would be.

It's not the school black or white, it's the family structure. I never understood that until I married an Asian and witnessed how much attention she placed and spent on education. We, for example, did not buy a video game system, and even though choosing education over being able to purchase our own home or get a new car, we rented and drove beaters but paid thousands and sent all three of our kids to Saturday school, 10 years each. That's how we gave our kids the tools to succeed, because simply relying on basic school programs won't do the trick. It's the parents, and it takes two.

Pot has very little to do with anything about how people think and behave..In most cases. MOST, not ALL. I dont even think this dude smokes pot. Doesn't seem like the type. I was at a parent teacher conference and the teacher was telling me how well behaved my daughter was. She’s a straight A student with a good attitude and she does well in class. We had a great conversation and she opened up to me. She went on to tell me that she can tell which kids will “make it” and which ones won’t. It’s the same pattern. The successful kids have at LEAST one parent show up for school events and the most successful will have both. The kids who will have a very difficult time are the ones where NO parent shows up for school events or is involved in any aspect of the child’s education. They’re raised by their grandparents or a single parent (usually the mother) who is too busy or just not interested in their child’s development, to go beyond the basic needs a child has to succeed in life. It doesn’t matter what color you are, there’s a formula that works. There are plenty of white kids who are in the same position. The difference is, white people aren’t blaming black people for their misfortune. Period. Yes, there are exceptions to the rule, but no one can deny the fact that having a good, healthy upbringing and being a 2 parent household with a mother and father who care, has a direct impact on the lives of their children. Teaching your kids that the white man is evil and they’ll never amount to anything is a recipe for disaster.
