For those who don't know Yoshiki Takei was a p4p elite kickboxing world champion. He switched to boxing and this is just his 9th professional fight and now he is a boxing world champion. He achieved something great, becoming world champion in two different martial arts.

Japanese boxing is leveling up lately.
For those that don't know, Ohashi brought Inoue over to spar Takei for 10 rounds, 4 weeks before the Moloney fight loooool. Takei said that it was the worst beating he's ever had as a fighter and it was so bad, it practically prepared him for that 12th round against Moloney. Inoue wasn't allowed to throw big punches so it was mostly light punches but it felt more like torture. Inoue encouraged Takei while beating his ass up, telling him to throw punches back or else the fight would be called (in a situation like that). Takei thanked Inoue for whooping on his ass looool.
Japanese fighters seem to be Moloney's kryptonite, which is kinda weird for an Australian historically speaking.

Takei is a great fighter. he came from kickboxing as a champion.
One of the Shigeoka brothers lost but then Nishida won yesterday and now Takei wins. I THINK that's ELEVEN reigning male world champions from Japan. Two unified, one undisputed. They go from having the undisputed bantamweight champion to having all four bantam champions. They also have a unified female champion... has to be considered a golden era for Japanese boxing.

@@diegoguzman8843 I think cookie is right. Takei was a kickboxing fighter and this is just his 9th professional boxing fights. Kickboxers are used to fight for 3 rounds so obviously 12 rounds of boxing are very tough for the cardio of an ex kickboxer. He was very fatigued and it started to show in the second half of the fight. I don't think Moloney really hurt him, because Takei has a great chin.

Moloney showed him way to much respect and paid the penalty.
Takei has more raw skill than Inoue and Nakatani, arguably. His kickboxing background is obvious in his footwork and buoyancy. Clean, tight combinations and sharp execution. Just needs to increase his stamina.
Japan and Mexico own these smaller weight classes
Congrats to Takei, fought a smart fight, Jason is a warrior and fought to the bitter end but fell too far behind. Easily the fight of the night. Deserves a rematch
Did the commentators watch a different fight?
Unlucky for Moloney in the last round that he ran out of time. Ten more seconds and he wins by ko.
Maloney kept moving in the wrong direction against a lefty. He kept moving to his right into the Japanese fighters left hand when he should have been moving left away from it.
Need rematch.
Round 12 is very clear Standing knock out.
I called it
Damn, taikei style is similar to Bud Crawford
Congratulations Takei, Japan is killing it with this new golden generation of boxers. Takei reminds me of a young Maidana, you can tell he is heavy handed. Now Japan holds all the belts at 118lbs, is time to start unifying.
Moloney wrong move to fight outside Australia
Rematch and make it this year
Takei seriously got off lucky. Letting himself get hit like that. Trainer needs takei to work on that.
Naoya Inoue%!!!! BOOOOOOOOM!!!

Lol saying they're using connections to get fights ? Andrew Maloney fought Nakatani last years who is a beast and was favoured to win, why on earth would he take that fight if he could so easily cherry pick some other fighter ? The brothers dont have the star power to be picking and choosing as you suggest. I think they're prob both B level fighters though, they lose when they fight the top dogs. That’s the problem when pressure fighters face heavy handed southpaws. For example, Alejandro Santiago and Argi Cortes are both agressive pressure fighters but showed none of that against Nakatani because they are worried about the counters and Nakatani is also very good with measuring distance. This also applies with Takei who I see as a harder puncher than Nakatani.

Jason you left it to late, if you wish to continue and gain success you need to dramatically change your style. Start learning and train on continuously throwing sharp fluid combinations punches from different angles, don't need to load each punch up just throw sharp combos to break them down until the opportunity comes then put them away best defence is offence if it goes to the cards you'll get the nod because of the volume of punches thrown and landed. Study how a young Thomas Hearns threw his Dangerous fluid combos placing his body behind each shot, also how Pacman continuously threw combos until he broke down his opponent's , combine the two styles. You cannot gain success at the top with your style of fighting not enough pressure and volume of punches.
