    As for the ring name Monster, Inoue confesses that he does not like it, saying it is "overrated. In fact, Inoue is a very humble and gentlemanly man outside of competition. When he learned that Donaire had promised his son that he would bring home the WBSS championship trophy after their fierce battle in the finals, he handed Donaire the trophy he had just won himself. But he is also a man so stoic that when he signed a professional contract, he promised to fight only strong opponents. When Fulton's team complains about Inoue's bunting, he accepts it as long as the fight is on an equal footing. This seemingly gentlemanly attitude is the reason why Inoue is called a monster. He never underestimates his opponents, always studying them and adapting. Even though he has already conquered several weight classes and buried several world champions, Inoue is never satisfied and always remains a challenger like a hungry and ferocious beast.

    Inoue is just on a whole different level. One of the best boxers I've ever seen. His speed, precision, power and reactions are just unbelievable. To confidently initiate against a counter puncher, and consistently counter his counter punch.....against an opponent at this level...... is just insane. It's such an overused saying, but Naoya Inoue really is one of the most complete fighters I've ever seen. Truly a pleasure to watch.

    He’s seems to be several levels below the elite fighters of today (yes, I know where he ranks by different publications, currently). Case in point: the pound for pound “best fighter” championship match last week between Crawford and Spence. This guys is not on that level, objectively. But he’s also a long way from guys like Lomachencko and Shakur Stevenson. Gervonta Davis is probably in the conversation as well, at this point … if he can keep the train on the tracks mentally. He’s a great fighter, but he would have to move up to bigger weight classes like Lomachencko did if he wants to prove he belongs; there’s just never enough elite fighters at those lower weights to determine anything. I remember, not too long ago, everyone hyped up Roman “Chocolatito Gonzalez as maybe being the best fighter in the world (I believe he was pound for pound #1 in many publications). Then he lost, and now no one remembers him, and he has no legacy. Unfortunately, the truth of the matter is … unless you can establish yourself in, at least, the 135 lb division, the public will never consider you a legit great. That is the minimum threshold, I believe. That’s why people like Pacquiao, Mayweather, and Lomachencko all moved up into the money divisions, even though they were smaller fighters.

  • @georgeyporgey1104

    @georgeyporgey1104

    8 ай бұрын

    @@79Glitch as soon you mentioned (establish yourself in, at least, the 135 lb division) i came to disagree your entire point...starting from the lowest division and making your way up is a huge feat. you claming there is no competition lower division...have you thought about how well your boxers in the 135 weight will do in the lower division? i dont think they will be that dominating. youve only seen them at the natural weight(135) and consider them p4p. biasing that p4p needs to be in the 135lb is for casual boxing fans

  • @79Glitch

    @79Glitch

    8 ай бұрын

    @@georgeyporgey1104 I was just stating the reality. In both boxing and MMA (who got rid of their 125 weight division btw) there is a well established history of smaller fighters never gaining the fame or credit they deserve (in MMA, Mighty Mouse was considered the pound for pound best for almost a decade, but no one knew who he was or cared because of his weight class. And the knock on him was that they dominated weaker comp, which is technically true). I’ve been watching boxing for over 30 years, and it’s always the same story: There are fewer competitively fighters at the smaller weights, both because fighters at lower weights don’t become famous, but also there are just fewer smaller fighters, and much fewer elite fighters. That’s just a fact. There’s a reason, going back to any of the great legends like Roberto Duran, Cesar Chavez, Oscar De La Hoya… all the way to Pacquiao and Mayweather … smaller fighters who want to make a name for themselves (and also money) always end up going to the bigger weight classes where there are more fighters, bigger names, and bigger fights. And only when then they successfully accomplish that … they become famous and legendary. It’s s pretty old story. 130-135 is really the bare minimum for the masses to take interest, but even that is stretching it. Would you say Lomachencko and Shakur Stevenson and Devin Haney are big names? Only with boxing fans, right? Traditionally, the biggest fights and fighters happen in the 145-165 range, then at heavy weight. Weight classes that fall in between those two zones, above and below, always have less fighters and competition, so they are way stations for young fighters who end up moving up or down. That’s not what I personally think is ideal, that’s just the history of boxing. If you don’t already know the history of this phenomenon … would you say that qualifies YOU as a casual fan?

He has just gone up to 122Lb, so his next logical step once getting these 4 straps would be 127Lb. He is too small at 1.65M (5 ft 6") to jump up to much bigger and stronger guys at 135 lbs. Fulton was engaging in some *shenanigans* in this fight - he's got black shoes, on a black mat, and while his rear foot has bright yellow laces, his front foot has black laces. And he spends the first three rounds - until the ref *finally* calls him out for it - trying to, and occasionally succeeding in, tripping Inoue on the advance. In the second and third he's actively stepping on Inoue's toes. Wild to watch the younger man doing this stuff. Honestly, I had forgotten how many shots Fulton weathered over the course of this fight. He really does have a stellar chin. But there was a sense of inevitability about this from the opening salvo, and it came to pass.

    @@google_admin1 If you read the previous reply by "stopbeingafanboy", he stated, "where the racial bias now"? That's the reason for my comment "google_admin1". Boxing isn't about race, I never made it about that, I just replied. I know first hand boxing isn't based on race, some of my favorite fighters are of different nationalities than myself. Read the previous comments before implying I'm being "racist" or bias, that's very immature and ignorant.

    Fulton hype-job and said "I'm smart, I'm faster, I'm quicker, Inoue is too small, Inoue is too short, Inoue is hype-train, I'm better, bigger, slicker more athletic, I will win" Fulton is loud mouth. He went Tokyo JAPAN for Big money. And he got big money about 5,000,000USD ( Basic fight money 3,000,000USD + fight postponement money 1,000,000USD + PPV % money about 1,000,000USD. Total 5,000,000USD. ) Enough for Fulton class boxer ( His fight money average 400,000USD ~ 600,000USD ). Fulton has NO COURAGE. He always afraid of Monster Inoue during match. And Fulton and his team cheeted Monster many things before a match. Including team, Fulton is B class.
