That raw was packed. I’m actually shocked Simon wasn’t into it. Great gable zayn content. Punk drew stuff was awesome and brief. The ring generale being a total savage was amazing . Logan Paul and Braun was great. I show speed showed up and showed out - his cm punk was as good as Samantha Irvine

Mahomes also had Creed Humphries (Chiefs Center and one of the best in the NFL) and Trey Smith (Chiefs Right Guard who just plays angry) sitting on each side of him and it was cool as hell when they stood up. As a Chiefs fan, I love how Mahomes and the team in general have leaned into the whole villain arc.

Whilst it made for flat TV, I have no problem with the fewer Raw/Smackdown swaps. The more people you swap, the fewer actual new match opportunities arise.

Roll it back to the old days, draft episode is a series of Smackdown stars vs Raw stars in Brand v Brand matches, in each match the winning star wins a draft for his show. The superstar drafted is picked “randomly” through the random generator on screen . Could make main event worth 3 draft picks for extra stakes

Raw was great and Simon miller makes me feel warm and fuzzy in my tum tum

A lot of the existing main roster picks were duds but the NXT call ups were worth it. Lyra and Ilja had great reactions.

I think Shinsuke going to SD is good, he needs a fresh start. Maybe a feud with Logan for the US title

They were bored fuckless from the outset, because they knew that after SD Friday, they were in for random Legends/authority figures reading the rosters out verbatim (almost) with very few changes for most of the show...

Would love if this was the year of Woods, have him win King of the Ring (second time) but not winning the championship til he wins Money in the Bank. If anyone can comeup for funny and fun segments of 'Is he cashing in' moments it would be New Day. Woods winning and successfully defending at WrestleMania would ve a great moment and truly a New Day

The draft would be more interesting if they could draft champions, so they could switch shows. NXT call ups were great. Hall of famers doing the announcing is cool but overall it's a bit lackluster.

A lot of people were unhappy with the draft. I think the problem was that it was "realistic". Like, if there's a draft, you want to protect your bigger stars. What the draft did was tell you who the big players of 2024 will be, basically. But at the same time, we have 4 (maybe more?) people from NXT, Legado and LWO finally won't be on the same brand, Damage Ctrl moving to RAW. You can't expect them to move all their pieces and carry on with their long storytelling at the same time.

Maxine isn’t good in the ring, and although I am very much against this culture of participation trophies being the new standard, it is clear to me even as the most sarcastic viewer she is putting work in behind the scenes and no matter how much of a hater you are you can’t hate on that if someone has a goal and they are putting in the work to achieve that goal then I’m not going to poop on them or their efforts I’m going to give you my respect because you are earning it

I told you in the last video with the ups and downs for smackdown that this wasn't how a draft works. They played it like every superstar was a "free agent" all of a sudden!!! But you can't do that because it's not a video game

So I can't watch Raw live and I'm forced to watch the 90 minute version on hulu, and because of this I miss a ton of content, tonight was like the first time I saw Preist actually wrestling and OMG send him to the moon he's amazing

Domink was totally headed in the right direction, then someone in the back said "you should go for an Andrew Schultz look" . Down.

So I may be the one person who will say this, but I liked the draft. Why? Here's why: In 2019, WWE implemented this style of draft for every year leading to the season premiere of each Smackdown & Raw. As exciting as it was, there were glaring issues of titles, particularly with the Tag Team & Women's Titles exchanging due to the Raw Champion on Smackdown & vice versa. They corrected this with the World & WWE Championships for both divisions while making them ineligible for being selected (along with other champions). In 2020, 2021, & 2023, there were a lot of changes where only a select few actually stayed on their own show but everyone else was moved. Here is an example, I went to Smackdown in December 2022 which was a lot of fun, but then Raw came back in July 2023 which I was unable to attend, but it had the same ring announcer, the same match of Shayna Baszler vs Emma, & the only differences being Seth Rollins, Judgment Day, & the ring announcers. With this 2024 draft, there wasn't a crazy amount of movement, which can be seen as boring given a few rounds where no one changed at all, so if they had a different style of draft, it probably would have worked better. Think of this, what if Adam Pearce & Nick Aldis had lottery balls like 2004 where Pearce had all eligible Smackdown stars & Aldis the same for Raw plus a special barrel for NXT where both GMs get a set number of those picks before they become ineligible. Ultimately, it still can be a fun live television event with NXT call ups having their moment plus it does what this draft did accomplish.

The NXT call ups were awesome. Best part of the draft for sure. It does seem like It wasn't perfectly planned and i have to believe part of that had to do with them finding out how long Rhea would be out, because it seems like they really hurt the Smackdown women's division to make sure Raw's was shored up. To me the really interesting part other than the call ups involves those that weren't drafted. I'm sure like other years the rest of the rosters will be announced, but Jimmy was undrafted. Way too big a name to be part of the off air picks so I believe this will work into a storyline.

I gotta say, while I understand that the draft is mostly underwelming, I still enjoyed both friday and monday episodes. Of course they were mostly filler episodes, and therefore not as hot as some of the other recent ones were, but I was still entertained. And I 100% agree, Lyra and Davenport's callups were beautiful. I think Ilja didn't really know either. Very nice. I am a bit disappointed at how many drafts were made after the shows though, because why wouldn't you just announce these on air as well - even if you do it in between the rest and just say "oh by the way, these following picks were also made". Also, I would like to know who is "free agents" within the WWE world now - I know we had a few last year, although mostly they weren't really used. Also, I don't think there will be title changes at Backlash, which is a shame - but we shall see. Jey winning (despite having won the tag match already) would be quite interesting, because him and Drew had major beef when Jey went to Raw - and unlike Drew, Jey was "first pick", so Drew vs Jey at Clash at the Castle would be properly hot.

I think the "draft" should be changed to a trade period, but at the same time keep tbe draft but just for nxt call ups.

I personally think the draft should be after Backlash cos there are some kinds of feuds that carried over from Mania

If wwe is protecting current storylines, just transfer everyone involved to opposite brand, thats better than leaving them on the current brand they already were in

WWE needs to do their drafts like the video game. Only drive NXT guys up to the main roster and draft free agents and make sure all your WWE Superstars have contract information letting us know how many weeks they can appear on that brand like 8 weeks on smackdown and then you're a free agent you can jump ship to raw or 5 weeks on raw and you can jump ship to SmackDown or possibly be traded what do you guys think

So Raw now has Gunther, Sheamus, Drew, Bron Breakker, Braun Strowman, and Ilja Dragunov? I see main events for like the next 5 years in that group.

The drafts fell a bit flat to me. Maybe more could be done to highlight story angles surrounding the draft. I'm hoping Braun and Ricochet will be a tag team again. They were great. And we broke up a lot of good tag teams over the past year.

Lyra getting called without knowing reminds me of when it happened to Alexa Bliss.

I was at the show live and the observations were pretty similar. Draft picks in general were like a name pop, but utterly inconsequential filler. Dudley Boys were great. Bronson/Sammy: not a fun wrestling match. Reed is talented, but his size is prohibitive for great matches. Nia Jax is hilarious. Her commercial break material wears brilliant and very funny. Nobody benefitted from an unrelated distraction. Gunther chops can shake the building. Most credible part of the show, but I’ve now seen too many of this match and better versions of it. Ludwig Kaiser is a genius with what he does just watching matches. Jey Uso has great presentation, but he’s a tag team wrestler - needs hot tags, move setups, limited move set. Weakest spear I’ve ever seen; please stop using. The 3v3 tag highlighted the dysfunction of the judgement day, not the qualities of the challengers. Huge Uncle Howdy moment during commercial break. Cool creepy song, fireflies came out and a “thank you Bray” chant. CM Punk music got the pop, as did the word “beetch”, but the skybox bit didn’t work live as well as it did on tv because it was in an obscure part of the building for fans and hard to see. Creed Brothers Dark match was match of the night, by far. Not a bad show, but not a lot of great wrestling, lots and lots of filler, unsatisfying match conclusions. It was just there. C+ (the plus is for Nia Jax and Ludwig Kaiser).

Superstars from the main roster have been sent to back to NXT, so when I heard NXT was going to be part of the draft, I thought I would hear “NXT selects” but nope, nothing.

Surprise, NXT call-ups, you got front row seats that you have to stay in... 😂😂
