James, I just want to say how much I appreciate you guys taking the time to address the issue you addressed at the beginning of the show. It is the responsibility of all anglers to help train up our young anglers on how to be safe on the ice.
Great intro James, I think you expressed the feelings of the MN ice community perfectly. Well done.
Awesome video guys!!! I live in the lakes are here in west central MN and we have quite a few shallower lakes like that that have great walkable ice still. 6 to 8"
Your guys videos are great, please never stop making videos! Good luck fishing!
Yes it's sad to lose anyone through the ice, prayers an thoughts out to the family's , Be safe every one, And IDO nice crappies.
More michigan videos!!!!!!
Nice show guys, thank you.
Appreciate the upload in 4k!
Thank you for some very good instruction on how & when to use the spud bar properly. My spud bar looks to be lighter than yours ; so I adjust incrementally.
I think you said that there are some nice walleyes in that lake, it would have been cool if you guys set up some iFishPros for them! Awesome episode non the less!
Headed out this Friday 12/8/17. Been real cold temps all week. Pretty excited to get out!!

Jealous. I'm still waiting on safe ice. The temps have been good, but the wind has finally died down enough to let the ice start taking over. Moving fast now, maybe I'll be fishing that ice ina week or two. Cant wait.
Yess!! About time!!!
You should come ice fishing in lacrosse Wisconsin this ice fishing season
Nice slabs thanks for the show. I fish Ironwood and Iron Mountain and upper Michigan a lot all year. I think I know what lake you are on.
Back in business boys, yes.

Thanks Robert!
You guys should come do a northern pike show in the Northeastern SD area, maybe Thompson or South Dry Lake.
Great channel! But that was really sad what happened up on red lake.
For the ice safety portion you guys should of have also brought up that you should pack an extra set of clothes to put in the sled when walking more than a mile and half or more so you can get warm/dry so hypothermia doesn't set it
Your gonna get your wish there’s a cold front coming through this week ❄️
What lb test would you recommend for panfish through the ice?
Ughhh come on ice!! Come to Ontario!!

I’m in western Wisconsin and was on a lake I punched a few holes near the launch and had 13” and I was walking but there was tire tracks in the snow I drilled a few spots on the other side of the lake that were 4-5”. That would not have been a good outcome. Stay safe and have fun

Was this episode recent or from last year?
Finally!
Have you guys ever fished Fish Trap Lake? South of brainered about 40 minutes...
If we get enough ice you should do a central indiana strip pit pan fish episode.
Safe ice just formed on our reservoirs in Wyoming. I’m marking panfish when I’m on the lake but no matter what I do or what bait/lure I try, none of them seem to want to take anything I have. Anybody have any tips for really picky fish in the early season?
These guys are good jut like uncut angling
Why aren't you guys using the rt-9 in your episodes?
Why run the transducer so far down on early ice? You guys must have been fishing 4-6 inches. I can't question the results, just curious about the deep transducer.

Mike Gass I run mine deep like that over and around structure to get a better and closer view of the edge. That's the only thing I can think of
You guys should do a session in NY adirondacks lakes and large ponds everywhere and they all produce. Wish we had guys like you in NY

Hey James, I see your using 3lb mono. Do you prefer mono. over flurocarbin? I've been using 2lb flurocarbin.

Are you fishing at Lost Lake in Ironwood?
You are right about the Striker Ice bibs by themselves working to keep you afloat, but keep in mind you'll go head down as your legs go up. Better to wear them both together.
Yay this one works...
Brand of spikes you are wearing?

Anyone know if waxies actually work better than small strips of minnow meat to tip a jig, or is it just preference?
@codkue5142

Angler Outdoors still new to ice fishing but i usually fish my jigs tipped with minnow head/ parts or spikes, and the spikes usually outperform minnows
What Lake?
what are you using for bait?

Surprised you found cribs. It is against Michigan state law to sink stuff in the lake.
@InDepthOutdoorsTV

I assume the lake association did it cooperation with the DNR. The cribs in question are plentiful and way to big / heavy to have been done without a lot of manpower.
Too bad you guys don't accept anything except from your sponsors; I could hook you up with some custom ice flies (not JIGS called flies, but actual flies) to try. Bait or no bait; your choice. You would be the only kids on the block to have them.

+Levi Jillson I assume that you're actually talking about InDepthOutdoors, and they do make some good videos.
Still don't get why you run your transducer cord so long, think it's just a formed habit/motion people have a come accustomed to doing especially when fighting a fish in. I know some will argue you need to have the transducer below the bottom of the ice, but I never have, never will as long as my transducer is in the water. Think about it, are people mounting their transducer's on their boats with the thought it needs to be in placement at a certain level as they do when using their electronics ice fishing? Whether I get a little reflection clutter on my Flasher in say the first few feet markings, I'm so use to it after all these year's and unless it's last ice and the fish are just below the ice, who care's? In that case if they're just below the ice, you don't need to being using your electronic's to catch them. If angler's still like the concept of having long lead's on their transducer's, maybe get one of those device's made that work of a remote to wind up your cord/transducer so you don't have to constantly pull your unit/cord/transducer out of the way when fighting a fish and your line wrapping around your cord. I'm actually thinking of adding one to my Box because big guts and bending over all the time isn't part of my exercise routine when ice fishing, lol.
Make a video without the electronics.... :-)
year by year, more and more CM between shows... C'mon man, show actual fishing than talk too much... I rather see more LX9 and GPS monitors than you. So people can see how fishes act under water and can see which part of lakes you are fishing at. Less and less educational video now.
