This film is directed and produced by Rangga Oktavian A, a Filmmaker-Cinematographer, Founder & Content Creator of Humans On Bikes JKT, with a production process spanning over 7 months. The film is also produced by Lightwaves Pictures, an independent Production & Post House specializing in visual content creation since 2014.
With a duration of 30 minutes, this documentary is Rangga Oktavian A's second film project and the first to be independently produced collaboratively, aiming to deviate slightly from the video formats previously created. (Previously worked on 168 Hours Extreme Challenge: Land Rover Discovery Sport Diary and hundreds of automotive video content episodes with Auto Bild Indonesia, CintamobilTV, Moladin Indonesia, and various automotive brands within the Kompas Gramedia Group of Magazines).
The production of this film was also assisted by the fixed gear cycling community Bidonesia and content creator of One Gear Culture, Hibatul R Ramaditya, which extensively covered Fixed Gear Freestyle.
Despite being executed with various limitations in the process, this film serves as a response to those who consider documentary films to be dull. Contrary to that perception, documentary films provide insights and knowledge about our surroundings and the world.
"Uplifting Ride" boldly emerges as a work that addresses environmental issues such as traffic congestion and pollution in Jakarta, as well as the profession of cycling as an essential record of the collaborative, creative, and inspirational independent products produced by the cycling community in the country.
