I was a courier when I was at uni 30 years ago, before the internet took most of the work away. I remember carrying a $3 000 000 cheque from a brokerage to the stock exchange, and flowers to women who burst into tears in front of me, pets, all sorts. It was a much better way to pay my way through college than washing dishes or flipping burgers. I only almost died a few times, and ended up in hospital once. But it taught me all about the city (Melbourne, Australia), all its little nooks and crannies.

I rode for American Expediting in Philly around ‘93-‘94. It snowed my first day, and every Wednesday for a month. Great way to get to know the city three dimensionally. Almost died a few times but no regrets. I carried everything from guns, to drugs, to million dollar contracts in giant boardrooms in 1&2 Liberty. One of my regulars was picking up and running ads for a high-end brothel to the City Paper; crazy. I lived on fresh roasted cashews and Elliot’s Amazing Apple juice. Glad to see it’s still around. #771 aka 71 southern one

The most important thing is to have fun and if you think you look somewhat cool or you are confident in what you do than thats even better. I don´t do courrier rides theres just no demand in the country side but I guess when I´ll go to uni my fixedgear will be used for more than just commuting

Time Cycle is commissioned to remove these signs when they expire, and they get paid to do so. Otherwise they could remain posted for too long or become litter. This is as far as I know.

I would love to see this guy go electric! Maybe he's too used to coaster brakes, or wouldn't find it as fun. But it would seriously help him on the rough days when weather is bad or morale is low. I think Dan is cool!
