Upgrading My Squier Baritone with a DiMarzio P90 Super Distortion

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

After owning my Squier Paranormal Cabronita BaritoneTelecaster for a little while now ive really grown to love this guitar but one of my biggest dislikes was the stock Alnico soap bar single-coil for the bridge position. After some research I decided to pull the trigger on the DiMarzio P90 Super Distortion, Lets install it and see how it sounds

This was very helpful. My favorite guitar has P90’s and i was looking for a humbucker in P90 size that has a fat enough bottomend and that can handle high gain riffing. Think i will buy one. Cheers 🤘

Honestly outside the hum, it doesn’t sound crazy different with a humbucker. I was really on the fence, but the p90s they have are actually not bad. I’ll probably just swap out the tuners and bridge for tuning stability, but for the price those teles are so underrated. I can bounce between punk/shoegaze/metal just by using pedals and adjusting gain.

Sounds great. I've always been a fan of the humbucker super distortion.

It’s technically still a humbucker, just housed in a p90 sized enclosure.

@@BDMusic2021 well you never know unless you dissect a pickup. I'm not familiar with p90's but with 7 string pickups they don't always sound like their 6 string equivalents. But that's cool, I saw a Les Paul I wanted with a single p90 and was thinking of getting one of these pickups so I'm glad I saw your demo. Sounds killer.

@@altpath thats true, also regular p90's sound fantastic to me.

Hey man! Doing a similar mod with my tele baritone. What was the process of painting that pickup cover? I'm trying to paint mine white to match my pickguard. The cream against the white is driving me nuts lmfao!

I just scotch brighted the cover to rough it up and used a good spray paint that bonds to plastic

Thanks for the video. But please don't EVER make a sodering video lol. That big goober on the ground pot was ridiculous lol. Next time use some flux. And keep the tip of soldering iron clean. You will get it,it just takes lots of practice. Hope to see more videos. Merry Xmas.

As the text said on the screen in the video someone made a mess i will take reaponsibilty of not cleaning someone elses goobers off before installing it but that was not me believe it or not i had that laying around i think it was pulled from a project i got fron someone else im by no means a professional at anything but that goober is not my work. Thanks for the flux tips and im definetly still learning but i will not take responsibility for the goober! Lol
