*The large switch box is different than the one I used (purchased at Home Depot because I'm impatient), but it's the same size and cheaper. I mounted the faceplate from the small switch box to the bigger box and it worked out perfect. I also cut a 4-inch hole in the cover of the large box for the switch itself. The end result is kind of a Frankenstein effort, but it works perfectly!

Finally, someone that is doing what we plan on doing. I already have 1 Ecoflow Pro with plans on getting 1 more base unit and 2 batteries. I tested the 1 base unit last year when I got it and ran the air conditioner for 4 hours before depleting the unit. Saw you guys on Untethered. Hope you keep us updated on how you like/dislike using Ecoflow. Surprised more people aren't doing this because it seems so much easier and "portable".

This is the future of all portable power. Comes with a warranty etc and anyone can install this. Entire system integrated instead of a bunch of separate components to mount etc. Clean, simple and easy to replace when needed. Not to mention you can use these at home or for other needs. It's not permanently mounted like a traditional system. A no brainer! You don't need a generator when you can't use solar. Just use your tow vehicle as a generator. You can get a DC to DC step up converter and send almost 1000watts to your system to charge it. You can even upgrade your alternator and get more power out of it. 1000 watts will recharge your system quickly.

I agree about the DC to DC truck converter, but that really only makes sense to charge as you're driving. If I need to charge with something other than the solar panels while I'm boondocking, a generator makes more sense. I don't want my truck running for hours on end as I'm trying to charge several thousand amp hours back into my power stations and extra batteries.

I like your little Scrabble sign! Great video! I wouldn’t feel safe running around without some form of backup, generator or power station. That stuff can take you by surprise!

Thank you for this! I live in a tiny house and experimenting with a Delta 2 and Extra Battery, 2x220W panels, but it isn't meeting my power needs. I'm still happy to have these for other uses, but realizing I really should go for the Delta Pro and your video is helping me accept this inevitability.

Thx for posting! This was very helpful info and your video is well made and concise! GJ! My wife and I are living and working on SoCal for the winter in our class A Newmar and I am thinking about installing a setup like yours. We stay at several parks where the quiet hours are a full 12 hours a day (so no generator) and there is no shore power. We do not have an inverter with a huge battery bank either, and I don't want one due to all the hardware, wiring and weight. Because we dont need to run air conditioners this time of year, I opted (for now at least) for a Ecoflow River 2 256WH to power our cell phone chargers, mobile hotspot and other small stuff, and a River2 pro 768WH to keep our 2 laptops and power sofa running in the evening. This larger unit also powers our percolator for coffee in morn, and microwave if needed. I have been impressed with its surge power as well. I would not buy another small 256WH unit, as it rapidly discharges even when not in use, which has been a common complaint that others have had as well, although it serves its purpose well...

Glad you enjoyed the video. I don't have any experience with the smaller units, but I find it odd that your River 2 discharges that quickly when not in use. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment!

With an unloaded hitch weight of 2794, and grand designs recent frame failures in abundance, and all that weight in the front what has that done to your hitch weight, and payload weights on the truck, and can you do a CAT scale video showing it?

Not sure where you got the pin weight of 2794. I don't know what our empty pin weight was because we haven't weighed anything yet. Unloaded pin weight is rig specific, based on options. We opted not to get the Onan generator, so that's a significant weight reduction up front...nearly 300lbs, not including fuel. We moved a lot of what was in the passthrough and front storage area in our last rig to the rear storage of this one, so I suspect we'll be close to what we were with respect to how much payload we're putting on the truck. Again, we haven't weighed it yet since we've only taken one short trip in it so far and we weren't loaded out. The Delta Pros and extra batteries weigh about 360lbs, which is less than what an equivalent typical solar setup would weigh. We'll get it weighed shortly after hitting the road and we'll make adjustments if we need to. However, I won't be making a video of it...no matter what our weight is. I've done that before, but it was way before people were losing their minds about the GD frame issues. I can only imagine what the comments would be like, no matter what we actually weigh.

Right around $9K for the system in that video. It gets expensive, but it's cheaper than a comparable traditional setup, with the added benefit that I can take it anywhere.

When this video was released, all we had was one 330-watt panel on the roof and two 400-watt portable panels. Since then, we purchased two 400-watt rigid, mountable panels from EcoFlow and sold the portable panels. There was nothing wrong with the portable panels...I just wanted them permanently mounted. So, we now have three panels on the roof. (1) 330-watt and (2) 400-watt. The 330-watt panel feeds one set Delta Pro and extra battery, and the (2) 400-watt panels feed the other set. So far, the most we've gone without shore power is 4 days, with two of those days being almost no sunshine. I had to break out the generator on the last day and charge for about 4 hours. We somewhat conserved energy, but we still used everything we normally use...microwave, coffee maker, even the furnace for a couple of nights. The only thing we didn't use was the A/C because we didn't need it. Overall, the EcoFlow system has worked out great. I think if we really conserved energy, we could easily go a week or more without needing to recharge. We could go indefinitely if we have good sunshine and as long as we don't need to run the AC. We're still happy we went with the EcoFlow system instead of the traditional solar install.

QUESTION: I have a similar setup, just one EF Delta Pro + Extra battery, and an Onan 6000QD as comes standard with the Class A Tiffin Allegro. How would you suggest using the Onan to charge the Ecoflow most efficiently? I'm pretty sure that plugging the EFDP into an inverted 110AC outlet is not efficient, nor is the cigarette lighter adapter. I'm considering the alternator charging device for when I'm traveling and I only have (1) 200 watt solar panel mounted on the roof right now. I've purchased every combination of XT60i and XT60 Y adapters, MC4 connections, Anderson plugs, 7909 barrel connectors, etc. The idea there is to be able to have 2 sources of charging going into the EFDP charging port. Just wondering how I can get the most from the Onan. Thanks for all of your videos.

Hmm...Why do you say it wouldn't be efficient to plug the DP into an inverted 120V outlet? That's exactly what I do if I need to charge them via an AC source when boondocking. That Onan 6000 should easily be able to charge the DP at its max AC charging rate and still have plenty of overhead for just about everything else you would want to run on it. I like the idea of the alternator charger, but it's just not really feasible in my specific case. However, it might be a good alternative charging source in your class A. Something to keep on mind (and it's something I'll be putting out as an update soon) is that if you plan to run this thru a MTS, make sure you disconnect the DP output from the MTS BEFORE charging via any AC input. Otherwise, you can create a potentially dangerous ground loop. Below are a couple of really good articles on all of this, plus an alternative way to charge via AC. www.linspyre.com/ecokevin/smps.html www.linspyre.com/ecopower/powerhomecircuits.html

@@fairwindsrv I guess I have been watching too many YT videos and somewhere I got it in my head that it was inefficient when converting AC-DC-AC and to mix into that the onboard inverter which I believe is a PD 1000 watts. I don't plan on connecting the DP to a transfer switch or adding much more to the system. I have rigged up a pass through hatch through a window to put my 50 amp shore power cord through to the inside where I will plug into the 30 amp dog bone and directly into the 30 amp plug on the DP. I also got the EV adapter to experiment with at a gas station. I can hang out for 2 hours at a WaWa with all the Tesla owners(LOL). BTW, I did also get the ground/neutral bonding adapter from Ecoflow directly. My intentions were to keep it safe and simple but then you find yourself wanting more power, faster. That's when things start to get complicated and dangerous.......and expensive. I appreciate your reply and the link and look forward to your updates and future videos.
