Upflow Overflow (Infinity) Bog Filtered Shrimp Aquascape

I developed this idea a few weeks back. I was thinking to myself, what would it be like to have an aquarium that resembles something like an infinity pool? As I pondered on the idea, I came up with a system that features an upflow bog filter system.
I honestly think it's a really fun idea and possibly something I'll fine-tune in the future. What do you think? Should I do it again? Also, what do you think about the project? Let me know down in the comments!

I was thinking like this too, but imagine building an enclosure which takes about half a room which is divided by Glass Panels with a regular sized door. And you Build something like a small "pineforest" with logs with roots at the bottom which go from the substrate up to the ceiling to immitate a forest, put in a little creak or water path and some nice Fern.

I thought of an idea that could be good for a 2nd version. Instead of using one mirror on the front bottom tank, make the bottom tank all out of glass, and use mirrors on all sides of middle support (which not only would make it look like there were more plants and rocks in the bottom, but might also give the illusion that the top tank is magically floating above the bottom tank even if its only at first glance).

Hands down one of the most creative aquascaping youtubers. The vivarium aspect is such a gorgeous effect that adds so much to it. If I were to attempt this build I'd probably design it for the corner of a room and have the waterfall only on one side, with the bottom tray extending only on that side and the front (for plants). I'd want to try and figure out a way to make the pump accessible for maintenance too. Absolutely stunning little tank though

Hehe you are right! Sweet design but a bit risky. Extending a pipe (hidden with a log/hardscape/plants) to a few centimetres below surface level should be a possible solution for future versions. This might break the intended visual effect. Perhaps adding air (air stone could be hidden under the gravel) near the sides would spread the overflowing water more along the sides Great design (this comment is not meant in any negative way)

I like the idea. I had chosen a slightly lower middle part and lower upper part. I don't like high aquas. When it comes to the base part, it could work just as well if there were 9-12 support points! The supports can be made of brick, concrete or similar material and are built as an (X) with 4 pieces that anchor the 4 corners so that you have a large X in the middle, for better relief of the strain of the weight that the upper part brings with it. Pumps and media will be covered with plants etc. The middle part needs to be easily accessible and I don't want to spend too much time on silicon and also be able to have the upper part loose in case something breaks! So a 2-part build that appears to have three parts where the upper part has its weight resting on the crosses which are not visible.

The best video in its category. Viewers don't need any previous knowledge, but just watching it. And all the questions will be answered. And they can too, making a Masterpiece to be proud of and enjoy the heavenly it brings to their home.

This looks like one of those .05 gallon artistic “betta” tanks you see some DIY sites make, but then actually suitable for fish! It’s a cool concept and I like the execution!

I love the idea of an overflow for a semi aquaponic build. Most builds have the plants on top and tend to not look nearly as cool as this!

Very cool build, very modern looking. When I was in college I went to a classmate's whose dad had a combination aquarium with the terrarium up top with a waterfall. It was forever ago, but what I remember, I was transfixed.
