It's very important to be ready and organized when you get 'the call', it makes life so much easier. We were prepared and my parents had a bag packed. I got the call 6 weeks after being listed. Luckily, we only live 50 minutes from Ann Arbor, that's in good traffic. As you could see from when my parents wheeled me in (cardiac center) there was no one there in the lobby. Everything was done quickly, but not in a panic mode, more like a calm mode and the whole staff, doctors, and nurses over there were so nice.
