feels bad man, i had the disney castle in my basket the other day ready to purchase and it’s now sold out.😢 Got the batwing + a few of the classic batmobiles so great to see them high up on your list. One set not in your top 10 that i think will do really well is 75316 Mandalorian Starfighter, the minifigures are amazing. Great vid as always :)

The one that got away for me this year is "The Flying Lesson". I picked up a few, but wanted a lot more. Last time it was in stock at Kohl's I was waiting for a potential sale or more Kohl's cash. Then it was gone. I think that will be a $70 set by q4 2023.

Great video but I see an X factor that will be a factor for lego investing and selling and that being the economic conditions in the country and the world for that matter . I deal with lots of people and I have had my own business for 22 years ( not a lego business ) I see very hard times ahead and look at what lego has done the past few weeks with insane sales and another double vip shows to me that lego sales are slowing down.I spoke to my local lego store manager and he told me business has been slow.We shall see what happens this next year .Keep up,the great work Jake your a class act

Agreed! Economic conditions will certainly have an affect on LEGO investing and commodities in general. But some of the best days for LEGO investing were sets that retired during the recession

Really? Couldn't disagree more tbh. Double VIP-points are regular LEGO-promotions, discounts (at least over here in Germany) were primarily granted on crappy or overpriced sets exclusively (the Friends treehouse is a notable exception, here LEGO obviously just cashed in due to the overwhelming success of the set, which consequently sold out at LEGO Europe temporarily) and the stock of most retired sets seems to be depleted (all decent sets have already sold out, I think). I'm still waiting for the shipping confirmations of my orders from over 2 weeks ago. I'm talking about 12 orders with complete different stuff, LEGO obviously can't keep up with the amount of orders placed, demand must be huge.

+1 I agree. Lego sales for Christmas have been the lowest for me in quite a few years -- and I've been doing this since 2002. Of course, the rich buy what they please, but the average Joe is cutting back.

Disney castle was AU$500 here and has only just disappeared in the last month in Australia and is already selling on eBay for $700-$750 Biggest issue is shipping which is $50+

Jake - thx for always putting out great content! I was a big fan of the HP Wizards Chess as I heard the HP fanatics thought it was awesome. I like HP, but not a fanatic so had to go to the sources - lol! 😂 Started doubting myself as it wasn’t on anyone else’s radar and stopped my purchasing - was super bummed when stock dried up! Regarding the Attack on the Burrow, you can slowly acquire them and accumilate the set by manufacturing your own discounts using LEGO S@H such as HP GWP. Around Black Friday I grabbed a PS5 Disc Edition and sold it to an exporter, grabbed more exclusives, and acquired an Attack on the Burrow set as the third and final purchase for Target Circle Earnings offer. My point is that you need to really be crafty and dogged when chasing these exclusive sets.

I did not invest in the Disney Castle because I believe it will come back. Good luck to all of you that did. The set made me nervous... Like... Death Star Playset type of nervous. If it does not get re-released. It will be one of the best investments of all time. EDIT: Just watched more of the video and you said it, there is risk of remake as well as calling it one of the best of all time LOL!

What do you think about the upcoming minifig scale 1989 Batwing and Batmobile (76265/76224). I personally believe in a few years they will be as valued as the old 2006 sets. Even more if you consider the iconic value of the 1989 saga. We already saw the big collector ones doing well (and i should buy mine before they get too expensive), plus the upcoming Flash movie with will showcase that Batmobile (I'm not sure if it is the classic one, but Keaton is in the movie so it should be).

Love these sets! And I think they will help increase the value of the bigger ones. I have a hard time thinking any sets will get near the prices of the original 2006 sets as those are astronomical in price. They certainly could do well for investing.

TBH I don't like Brickeconomy very much. They are using predictions that I think don't utilized several factors when predicting future set value. I have found their projections to be much higher than actually true.

Hey. Super helpful video. Have many of the sets you listed, so I’m excited about that. Wish I had more of some of the, but I’m new to the investing scene so have been cautious when it comes to quality. The one thing I’m bummed about is Ninjago City Gardens. I’ll be sitting on that one for a while it seems. Glad I only got one, although I did get it before the price jump. (I think it had a price jump). Thanks as always for your videos. Great stuff.

It's already trending at $500-550 on the secondary market $150-$200 above the original MSRP just a couple months after it sold it... I think that is a good indication that it should do well for investing (that is is you can find one at MSRP). I agree it is very popular, was on the market for a while, But it is probably one of the most popular sets of all time and will stay popular with and new collectors that join the hobby over the next 5 years.

You can't revise it. I already took out a 3rd mortgage to buy all the legos on your last top ten! Haha.

The newer one is larger are more detailed vale’s around $500 usd new! The older one set 7784 is more rare but smaller and less detailed. Worth about $700 USD new!

BrickHeadz based on movie/tv characters always seem to be very limited in availability; some of those are going for silly money nowadays. They are small, take up little space and can be picked up very cheaply at launch.

Few weeks ago I found a Saturn V (92176) at its local all time low, which is around 85USD, in "big" local e-shop. Purchased one to my collection immediately, it really makes a great display and assembly was fun. I also took one for investing, unfortunately only one. Because retail price jumped up by around 20%, after this huge sale, and many retailers dont have it anymore. Few retailers still have the old set in stock but it price ranges from 215USD to 430USD. I am really interested how much its price will grow here in Europe.

Hey there, just subbed. I am starting to pick up a few sets (new beginner) and debating whether to open a sealed product for display or keep closed and if open product maintains value? Currently my products are a creased box but new Batman cowl, R2D2, star wars helmet scouter. I am on the fence on getting a dolorean for 200 and a Carnage help. The scouter, carnage, and batman I am considering opening for display. Any help?

He there and thx for the sub! Opening a set always reduces the value anywhere from 20 to 30%, even more for older vintage or retired sets. So if you’re hoping to invest or resell the Lego sets later, keeping them sealed is your best bet but if you are collector like myself and you want to build a set for your personal collection, you can do that and you can keep it as an investment and hopefully it will appreciate past the original MSRP at some point post Retirement.

I just dont want to risk getting from a seller and find out the box is completely creasd or opened or dented or missing pieces.

People are winning bids on these items below retail regularly and they're all projected to retire 1st-2nd quarter 2023. Also the blacksmith has been marked down at Target for a while. You can apply %5 RedCard discount (target). Or you can find them way below retail sealed and new on ebay at this moment if you use a last 2 second bid strategy.

its not retiring any time soon. ive read of people getting it for 60 or 70. minifigs are pathetic, 2 guards to defend the castle pirate blacksmith and skeleton. looks great aside from the minifigs and all the yellow though. 5 should be a hell of a castle. if you can get them for a good price and enjoy them, you cant go wrong. the $400 castle has much better minifigs than 5 of the creator castle though its overpriced.

What are your thoughts on "sale prices" from any retailer that come from the inflated retail price? Do you feel like you are really getting 20% off a particular Lego set when all investors know it was increased by 20% from the original price?

Great vid ! ... Stardestroyer disapeared in october here in Europe. You can buy it for 900/1000 euros. Got two of them at 600 each. You can say whatever you want about pieces and colors... This is the second ship you see in the original movie and in the most iconic and copied shot of the scifi movie industry. This shit is gonna sell for 1500 next year.

My buddy bought 5 of them and couldn't sell any, except 2 for loss, unfortunately. It looks like either Lego is pumping out huge amounts of each set, hence they can't be hoarded, or people are oversaturated with Lego novelty and not buying it any more.

Bought the last Disney Castle in Lego Store Disneyland in France Today, the lego guy working there said there are some rumors they gonna do a full gold castle for 23' for the anniversary. Didnt stop me to buy the last one in store though 😄

Sorry, last comment. That Saturn V has been hoarded heavily as well. Some investors have hundreds of the new Saturn V.

More and more discounts at lego and everywhere. Maybe it doesnt Look good for the lego market right now? I hope 2023 will get good prices to the eol sets... i got the domo for 40 euro for example

nope, only positive is the end of season 10, everything else is just showing bad signs for investing. Always discounted, been out for waaaay too long, never out of stock. It's simply oversupplied, and even if it did jump in price why would Friends fans not just buy the other, bigger lego friends set

What Fausto said is probably true! I think the supply is huuuuuuge for this set which I think we will damage its investment long term
