I love that all three versions of Hank have the same base characterization and motivation through three completely different filters. They ALL live for fighting and are overconfident shitheads about it, but default Hank is an apathetic bruiser, Pink Hank is a mischevious gremlin, and White Hank is a showboating duelist.

@@brguardian3137 Doc is a co-op exclusive character. He shows up on teams if a level needs a 3rd or 4th playable character when you’re doing co-op. So just have 3 or 4 controllers plugged in and go to a level he is in. I don’t think that Hank could be in the overworld, at least without mods. These characters have to be playable or on the team at least once.

Amazing Video! How are you able to access all of these different characters in the game? I thought the only way of switching was playing a mission and then the game lets you wander around as the characters from the mission you last started/finished.

Thank you! If you have a 3rd and 4th controller plugged in, two additional characters that are co-op exclusive will appear on standard teams that are too small. I just start the mission that have the characters I need or want (like if I needed Victor, I’d go to a level where he is in the roster), then just leave. Disconnecting the controllers will allow the characters to stay, and become AI allies to switch around to. In terms of Tricky and Robutler, Tricky will join your team after you beat Sleeper Labs, but if you wipe out or exit the game, he leaves the party. Robutler can be obtained by going into Shakedown and leaving once you summon him. You’re able to just enter a mission and leave it in the MIDDLE of the S-3LF Eater quest, your progress in it is saved. I just did that if I needed to switch around characters or so.

Props to you for putting in the effort, especially for Tricky and Sheriff's lines. As for Robutler, its lines are decidedly un-Robutler-y... it might use fallback dialogue for characters who don't have special lines? I don't think they were expecting you to use it, lol.

Doc, Victor and the other Hanks are co-op only, if you have more than 2 players. Robutler is if you go to Shakedown (aka the one with Christoff and Deimos), summon him, and then leave the level.

Kinda sad how underutilized Tricky is. Would love some missions involving him, hell, have a madness episode involving Tricky as the protagonist for once.

You’re not dumb. Doc is a co-op only character. You’ll need either 3 or 4 controllers plugged in, or play with 2-3 other people (local play only). On some levels, Doc will be player 3 or 4. Otherwise, once you have him on your team, you’re free to disconnect your controllers to make him an AI ally (which you can then switch to). I do not mod my game, it is completely vanilla.

I connected 3 other controllers to the game. Then, I loaded up a level with that team. If you want them as AI teammates, you can disconnect your controllers once they’re in your team.

Project nexus is one of the few good games of 2020s that it's devs put love in it's development, it's quite a real game in fact unlike what triple A gives us nowadays and I dare to compare Cod for example with a free to play game that has in it tons of microtransactions for ridiculous prices well CS2/csgo has the first place but at least you can sell it your inventory,anyway Project Nexus is far more entertaining than anything else out there and it's on my top list fav of the best games of 2020s someone famous should review it and make a honest game review about what a hidden gem is it.

Sorta. They stick around if you exit a level when they're in the party, so they can still be in the party for the S-3LF Eater.

Oh yeah he’ll never respawn if you don’t let him leave your vision, another thing worth noting is that if you he grabs you, switch to another character, he’ll drop the original

@@Miroslavdrutch Doc is a local co-op player character on certain levels. Same with the two other Hanks and Victor. You need to have at least 2 other people (or 2 controllers) playing with you. In my case, I plugged in 3 controllers to summon the co-op characters, then disconnected the controllers to have them remain on my team as AI-controlled instead.

They do not. When the S-3LF Eater update first released, enemies would say something when they killed the S-3LF Eater. However, this was confirmed to be a bug, and was patched out. Now, if an enemy kills the S-3LF Eater, the character as player 1 will say something.

@@Strikcsman Yes. You can use remote play (steam has one), and invite some friends to play over that. They do not need to have the game. Otherwise, you’d probably use a mod instead that would let you play as Tricky.

When you have Robutler on your team, connect 2 controllers (or have 2 people to help). The third player will have control over Robutler. Same deal with Tricky. Wouldn’t recommend playing as Robutler though. Very fragile and horrendously slow. Aiming takes forever.

The RoButler can be in your team if you exit Shakedown during the segment with it at the start. Doc and Victor are multiplayer exclusive, and Victor is an ex-employee at Burger Gil's who joined the Status Quo (the protagonists of Story Mode.) *ARENA MODE SPOILERS BELOW* Canonically, Victor is the Maker's favorite, and because of this he will probably never appear in a Madness Combat episode or be more involved than he already is. Because if you get involved with the problem, you're part of it.

The short explanation: Victor was a former employee of Burger Gil’s, back when the city was still intact. Now he works in the SQ, so he is one of Sanford and Deimos’s coworkers. Long explanation: He is featured in news on a Burger Gil’s website that was part of an ARG of Project Nexus. He worked at Burger Gil’s, even earning the titles of Employee and Burger of the Month (formally, Rich was employee of the month, even though he didn’t even work there. Later, giving nonemployees the title was no longer allowed, so it was given to Victor. The title was later merged with Burger of the Month due to budget cuts, so Victor was just both of those). At some point, Victor disappeared, and Burger Gil’s put out a hotline in hopes of finding Victor. Then, most likely after Nexus City fell, he joined the SQ.

He is locked to always being the 3rd member of your party. Because of that, only the 3rd player (via local co-op) can play as him. You just need to plug 2 controllers in when Tricky is in the party.

I have figured out that the hank copies exist when you are playing with extra people on the same device, but where do the rest come from? I've been playing this game since april of last year and I haven't seen a story mode mission that had Doc in it.

Like how to initiate the quest? If you’ve beaten the main story campaign, go all the way left of the science tower area, just before the exit to the Industrial sector, and go up the stairs to the robotics building. Go all the way inside.

this dlc kinda sucked ass honestly, the way you have to scower all of the nexus to just find the bandit hideouts, & part 4 of the mission being the practically the same robot fight 4 times over as well? when you finally encounter the s3lf eater you dont even get to fight it in its own stage or anything, just in the same overworld any player wouldve grown sick of running through by now... idk

If I had to put forth my honest opinion, I was not particularly a fan of the S-3LF Eater quest, even initially (before I played it over and over and counting). It didn’t really offer anything exciting in terms of gameplay, and if underprepared or clueless (starting out), you can just spend too long on even killing the S-3LF Eater for a single clue. Or worse, run out of resources and have no choice but to leave the area or die. I didn’t like how it handled like a somewhat tedious two-part fetch quest at best. I get it. It concentrated on the lore. But I felt like side missions would’ve helped story mode, something away from concentrating on the main campaign, but still relating to the story. Kind of branch out, you know? Just some missions that were like downtime. I don’t know either - but beating it once was well enough for me. It just wasn’t that fun of a gameplay to get through.
