Let me give all new Hu Tao enjoyers who want to learn her cancel animations a piece of advice: always use E first and stop practicing when it runs out. Without the infusion, Hu Taos animation timings are different, so you will learn the wrong timings.

A lot of us play on mobile though. Jump cancel is harder especially because phones will lag. Sadge. I hope this year's phones with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will finally be powerful enough not have latency lag and frame drops.

I’m a HuTao main since her release back in 1.3. I’ve never identified myself with a character so much, all of the details around her design are so beautiful and well thought + well put together. I was lucky enough to get Homa and from that moment my account was never the same. Thanks to her, Spiral Abyss is always cleared with 9 stars ever since. She’s a great character and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. She’s been at the top since her release for a reason!

I saved around 300 wishes on hu tao’s last rerun to get her + c1 + homa. so yeah, u gotta save a ton if you want all of them, or just be super lucky

In my opinion, any f2p player should stay away from pyro and cryo dps characters, i am going to be using Hu Tao as an example for pyro characters, and Ayaka for cryo, For Hu Tao she is VERY painful to build for f2ps, not only does she needs two of the best five stars in the game, but she needs her weapon, and A TON of investment into her artifact domain, primarily because she has a FOUR scaling system, since she needs hp, atk, em, and crit, and it is REALLY hard to get artifacts that have all four, plus without her weapon, her dmg takes a significant hit, since you lose a TON of base atk,crit, and hp, and well my advice for f2p players is to stay AWAY from the weapon banner i lost 200 wishes as an f2p in a single weapon banner so learn from my mistake and don’t pull in it, Hu Tao’s c1 is optional but is better to have, since it makes using her easier, so in conclusion, Hu Tao needs, two of the best five stars in the game, her weapon, and alot of good artifacts to be usable, which in my opinion is alot of wishes to bes used on one character, and also in my opinion Hu Tao is the MOST overrated character in the game and people constantly saying she is a great dps (especially people like Zy0x and Sevyplays) are the main reason for it, and saying this, made me dig a primogems hole so deep for my self that i can’t get out of it without making my Hu Tao permanently unusable, also (for Zy0x and any genshin guides youtubers out there) you should NEVER judge how good a character is based on a whale’s experience, ALWAYS try to use a character in a f2p team/way to get if they are good enough or not for f2ps, this means right f2ps weapons AT r1, trying to minimize the effects of constellations, and using four star characters only. Anyway, for Ayaka, the problem is more or less the same, while she does not REALLY needs her weapon, Shenhe, Xingque, and a anemo swirl character like sucrose is necessary, and well for me at least i HAVE NEVER won a 50 50 so i should not expect that any f2ps will, vut if you did manage to get Shenhe, and great artifacts for Ayaka she is good at that point, but if not, you will easily be spending about 360 wishes JUST TO GET the two of them. I am sure some people will jump to say that Ganyu is better but in fact, she is WORSE. For starters, The Himayumi doesn’t have alot of base atk so getting her required atk lvls could be problematic not to mention crit ratio, plus she CAN’T use Xingque or Yelan and aince Barbra is not good enough most of the times, most players will think they are forced to pull for kokomi, not only that, but she also NEEDS Shenhe, and a swirl character, and REALLY a five star weapon, AND good artifacts, if you want to play a freaze Ganyu. If you want to play melt Ganyu it gets worst since now you need elemental mastery, and switch out bennett with shenhe, and a good shielder since you will be on field for so long, and since Lyla sucks, Thoma is usable but you will need to pull for him, And Zhongli is a five star character, more spending becomes even more necessary. I know this has been a long comment, but i really needed to vent out my frustration on the flat out lies that the community says, and the excuses they make just because they think a character is cute. I AM BEGGING YOU, juat do at least one thing this comment says or just tell people to stay away from pyro, and cryo dpss and the weapon banner to create a fair environment for everyone, just the people with money. THANK YOU FOR READING THIS. Edit: I FINALLY MANAGED TO FINISH THE ABYSS WITH HER COMPLETELY f2p, and as it turns out, i was wrong about her, she can finish the abyss with r1 dragons bane at c0 though it took alot of tries, if you have Yelan, and Zhongli, get the dragons bane and try alot in the abyss, but if you don’t want to try alot and only want to finish the abyss with a breaze then get someone else or try to get her weapon

I remember how she was the character I wanted the most, one of the reasons I wanted to play and now I finally have her I got c1 r1 within 200 wishes ( 69 pity on character banner ) I’m so happy, it’s also the first time I’ve ever pulled for a five star on weapon banner! It was a win 🌸

Most reactions need em, except for superconduct and freeze, Vaporize,melt, aggravate and spread need a decent amount of em (less so with vaporize and melt and more so with aggravate and spread) ,electro-charged,bloom, burgeon,swirl, hyperbloom, burning, overloaded,and shatter scale completely off of em.

@@luisilva2743 Well, better late than never. Btw there's a point where too much EM isn't that good. 150 is minimum. 200 to 300 is optimal, 400 is pushing it but 500 is too much. However if your HP is 30k+,Crit rate is 55+, Crit dmg is 180+ and using 4pc Artifact set (whichever that is) then you can go ham with the EM.

Oh hey, I was exactly like number 1000! I love this guide, since not onlu is it clearly articulated, friendly to F2P players, it doesn't talk down to people who don'y know much about the meta, and it's just overall a very nice experience!! It actually explained some things no other build video has explained, like what exactly the animation cancels look like.

Rather than just double Geo, 2x Hydro with Zhongli is extremely strong because the res shred benefits all 3 characters, and makes up for not having VV. And hydro resonance makes Zhongli better as well.

Ok I have to say TYSM for going into details about hu Tao team comps! I pulled for hu Tao cuz I only looked at her pros and didn't notice the cons like hard play style, survivability issues and the lack of teams and was regretting pulling her. Play style can be adopted, survivability can be fixed with supports but lack of teams can't be fixed. But you showed so many good teams she can work in! I should stop looking at team building sites cuz they have so little teams for certain characters

My favorite character since her initial release and the very first character I saved up for C1 for quality of life improvements. Will definitely try out that burgeon team comp cause dendro is really broken at the moment.

Thanks for the guide. Hu Tao C1 (I hated jump cancels and I had to get it) was my second 5 star character, and has been my favourite damage dealer for some time. Then I started using her less and less after discovering Childe’s International team. Few months ago I started appreciating her again after discovering the amazing double Hydro (Xingqiu C6 + Mona C1) comp. It was so much better and more convenient than the double Geo (Zhongli + Albedo C0) I was using before, much higher front-loaded damage and no need to rely on that flower that was so easily broke by several bosses. In few hours I’ll finally be able to get Yelan, for even better double Hydro comps. I also really like how this double Hydro core allows to have great flexibility for the fourth slot. I really like playing Hu Tao. I consider her a rather niche character, because she is melee and in AoE she doesn’t perform as well as my other characters, and she relies quite heavily on Vaporize, but I love using her against bosses if they are not too mobile. I consider her the hardest character to master, and I’m not really good with animation cancels, but I’m enjoying her regardless.

I consider Yelan + Xingqiu a significantly superior core. Yelan + Mona is only better for Hu Tao’s personal damage (not team damage), and probably in case of short single rotation speed run where you don’t care about ER and you kill the enemy before Hu Tao’s infusion ends. The extra Hydro application and Xingqiu’s defensive utility allows to replace Zhongli with more offensive options. Yelan + Xingqiu also do wonders for each other’s personal damage because of how it improves the energy generation, plus Xingqiu buffs Yelan’s damage.

Got C1, and I just wanna say to me it was so worth it !! It’s such huge quality of life, I’m not good at managing stamina so by the end of my rotation I would’ve used it all up with C0, which leaves not enough stamina by the time she’s on field. It’s so comfy just spamming charged attacks with no worries and doing a ton of damage

I love Hu tao so much that I finally completed her. Got her on her first banner, got her C1 on her 1st rerun and finally got her weapon this time.

I got Hu Tao on her second rerun and it took me awhile to figure out her gameplay and till now I hardly uses her due to my Xiao is my biggest DPS but I'm slowly learning to use her again and I hope I got her weapon in the next rerun. She's fun to play.

I don't understand why ppl get mad when someone says she's a good unit, only because dendro exists. She still a viable and very powerfull single target dps, regardless of new meta team comps.

I'm completely new to Hu Tao and her playstyle, but I've had almost no problem clearing the Crimson Witch/Lavawalker domain in two minutes or less by using Mona, Yelan, and Kokomi as her partners. It may not be "meta" but having reactionary crowd control, a proper healer, and a secondary dps on the team makes playing this reckless undertaker so much fun!

i've had hu tao since her release and only realized now that her line "one client, two clients, three clients" might have been/actually referring to her teammates 😭 that is so smart!

I'm a lucky new player who got her from second wish today. Now aiming for Xingqiu in the same banner, hope I will get him within 20 days. Thanks for the guide, now gotta learn her cancels asap

A random tip for ensuring i use the burst at the right time and is super simple is I just count the seconds. I begin counting the seconds the moment i activate her skill and at 7 seconds I use the bursts. It’s simple and it helps you until you’ve memorized what time to use the bursts

I just got my HuTao yesterday at 79th pity! She gon be my main for a while now.

I haven’t mastered her dash cancel yet, but from what I’ve seen of her so far that doesn’t matter. She is still completely destroying both sides of the abyss with the proper supports.

Had her since her first rerun, I'd only just started when she first came out so I wasn't lucky enough, nor had time to save wishes. I got her to C1 last time, and I've just pulled Staff of Homa this time, and now she's even more unstoppable than before!

I saved about 100 wishes for her first rerun and got her to c2 at around 65 (I started when ayaka came out and got her after my 2nd wish and mona from beginner wishes, the game was too easy using them together) and she’s been one of my favorite characters, I even started watching konosuba because of her .

Garanteed to get her once her banner is out in a few hours, got Staff of Homa last time she was about but didnt get her, been so sad about that but finaly getting her, got all materials farmed, lvl90 10/10/10 once i got her, hopeing on C1 to!

Hu Tao with Xingqiu and Yelan is a very good combo. I use them with Zhongli in Abyss 99% of the time.

By using Thoma instead of zhongli and sucrose instead of yelan you can vv shred for hu tao and give her Extra EM which boosts her attacks extremely high

Been using her sparingly since her first run. Even got Homa. The stamina was always holding me back from using her more. Just got C1.. what a difference 😍

10:00 There is a lot more nuance here actually. EM is only more important if you are already at around 32k HP, then you don't need anymore HP bonuses as you will be hitting the limit of Hu Tao's damage bonus. BUT if you have Staff of Homa, that upper limit goes to around 52k HP, so you can happily continue to increase HP up to that amount and gain significant damage. So basically, the path for artifact farming should be HP%/HP (up until your cap depending on weapon) > EM > Crit Rate/DMG > ATK.

Just got Hu Tao in just my first 10 pull! Finally she's home 😭 and of course I went directly here for Sevy's build guide 😁

i just got her and her weapon, i’m so happy, she does around 30k charged atk and did 114k on her burst once, usually around 68-76k though

I will say this: I definitely recommend an EM sands if you have virtually no EM on substats like me. Without an EM sands I only have 19 EM but 40k hp, but with one I have 200 EM and 30k (both with hydro res); the damage difference is pretty crazy. I’d say 100 without team buffs is a good bar.

Yeah, I tested it too and it is even worth giving up crazy crit ratio for EM! It really boosts her vape damage a lot

Now you have to do updated Mona support build since i lost the 50/50🙏🏻👍🏻

I like using Blackcliff Polearm for my Hu Tao 😊

I just got her with Yelan with just 70 pulls I'm so happy right now

Thing about the 4 pc crimson witch is that you can only take full advantage of it by using E skill multiple times in a row which I doubt is optimal for Hutao

Im playing since February 2022, and always wanted hu tao, and today i got her :)

I had her at C1 and I just finally pulled Staff of Homa I'm so grateful I got it and I don't feel bad for not getting Alhaitham's weapon though I did pull him and was pulling on his weapon banner.

I didn’t want her but i got her at pity 1 so i’m here to learn more about her lol

I also want to add, for those who have her, Nilou's skill lets Hu Tao run around with a hydro ring around her enabling vape to proc for free almost. It's not the most consistent tbh, but just something to throw out there if anyone is interested :)

Just got hu tao after getting diluc in same multi kinda happy and mad at the same time as I got 2 pyro dps now.

I was super lucky today i got both Yelan and Hu Tao in just 45 pulls so now i can save the rest for the 3.5 characters :)

I already have almost all of the things she needs. Only missing two artifacts and Primogems. This one is going to be quite a gamble. Hopefully I'll have enpugh for her. literally just got hu tao with 24 pity and and a dream and now its time to build her

At least you wont have to get yourself so much Crit Rate, only focus on DMG and thats it. Ive got Dragons Bane ready for her. 74 pulls with 22pity, might even try the weapon banner if i get her earlier, but I dont have any plans for now.

@@london4633 yeah it makes buildung her so much easier. I am hunting for EM Substats tho because she needs a lot of that, even more with scarlet Sands. At least you have enough EM with dragons bane! And it's a fine option, you're just gonna have to set lower expectations with the crit ratio.
