Hi, shimenawa works fantastic well on hutao too, if you dont mind the grind. I prefers Layla she has better shield and cryo application, fit the double 20% hp artifact on her and her sheild will last. Also pair yelan and xingqui together. Hp buff from yelan and yelan passive also add dmg. 5 star character isnt inaccessible to f2p now. Yelan has a few rerun. Good luck on your hutao.

If u have sacrificial go with Diona you will not regret it. She is hard at first but will never disappoint as a character.

Anyone should not actively farm crimson just farm emblem and shime and strongbox crimson and build whatever to get first but yes zhongli makes hutao soo much better sometimes i feel getting zhongli is hutao c1 that u can spend all ur stamina in her charged and face tank all attacks without dashing if u want to increase ur hutao dmg i can help u in also a pure f2p hutao main

I agree as a use to be hu tao main with R5 DB u need that crit dmg over EM if you dont have a decent crimson set

I use zhongli for shield, xinque for hydro dmg and vap reaction, fischl (got her c6 while trying for Hu Tao it was waste to not use her) for emotional support and oz for overload or electro charged attacks, Hu Tao as dps.... And now she ezly does 100k+ with every vap bursts . The perfect team comp for me.

fischl might not be good for this team because overload knockback makes it hard for hu tao to deal with smaller mobs. a cc would work better imo

I recommend getting a 4p set of SR at emblem domain first then getting crimson later on

I wanna say thank you for the guide I've been looking for a video like this and it helped me a ton. I'm trying her out on my AR level 42 ( ATM ) account. I got super lucky after returning to the old account after a break and landed her and her weapon ( Not a flex I promise ) I could not get a the C1 so she is at C0 at the moment and I was looking for a good team to take on the abyss. I have both Diona and Xingqui but I wanted to know if Neuvillette of the Hydro archon could work with her or should I get Venti? Thanks for the video and take care.

I am Glad I could be of help. I m working on venti video atm will upload in a day or two. And I have a playlist on hutao I’ll recommend checking it out I’ll recommend the Team Vidoe and The one with most damage on thumbnail I don’t remember the name of that but they can help you a ton. Most people don’t have any clue how good Hutao actually is and make her limited to just 1 team.

i have a lot to add to this guide. there are basically 2 ways to play Hu Tao: a vape/melt team, or a mono pyro team your video features the first play style: vape/melt team 4-pc crimson with some EM (200-300) The best F2P weapon: dragon's bane (especially with refinements) team comps: double hydro (xingqiu, yelan, free slot: Layla, Zhongli, kazuha, Thoma, xiangling) double geo ( xingqiu, Zhongli, albedo) f2p ( xingqiu, xiangling, shielder) the second playstyle: mono-pyro this playstyle focuses a lot on pyro damage, so EM is not important. it's also risen-efficient. the cons are that you're limited to Pyro, Geo, and Anemo characters in this play style. 4-pc shimenawa ( crit, pyro damage bonus, hp). best f2p weapon: blackcliff, white tassel (crit weapons) team comps: best: ( xiangling, kazuha, Zhongli ) double geo ( xiangling, Zhongli, albedo) Normal ATK focus ( Zhongli, xiangling, Yun Jin) f2p ( xiangling, sucrose, Thoma) to sum up you need a shielder in almost every C0 Hu Tao team. if you do reaction use xingqui with some EM in her build. if you don't do reactions then focus on her normal and charged attacks (higher hp is better to increase Hu Tao's self-buffing) any crit weapon will do well. I tried my best to include everything, feel free to add to it if I missed anything☺

​@@platnm It works well if you want to apply Pyro on a larger AOE (especially in a mono-pyro). it's even better to have her constellations. her C1 decreases pyro resistance. her C4 increases her Pyronado's duration which gives easier rotations. her C6 gives all party members a Pyro damage bonus increase. I can see why some players might be a little uncomfortable. it doesn't benefit from Xiangling's full kit and potential, since the Pyronado won't be hitting the enemy as it does in other team comps (like Child National). the point of using Xiangling is to increase the AOE application and team utility ( with a lot of ER in xiangling build). if your xiangling does more damage than your hu tao, then stick to the first playstyle where you rely on reactions to maximize your damage.

whynot use tankfei as a shielder? I currently have a C0 Zhongli with some 60k HP but I was wondering if it was worth it more to have the dual Hydro and Pyro resonance witha team (such as Furina, Xingqiu, Hu Tao and $SHIELDER)

Nah Zhongli shield buff is Way too good in my opinion. Yeah his Shield make everyone do more damage.

White tassel and soon replace that with Dragons Bane.

I'm also a F2P Hu Tao main. That build's not too bad for F2P, Dragon's Bane is certainly a very strong EM polearm. I skipped a few banners back in 2.x and was able to get Staff of Homa during her first rerun banner, if you can get that 5-star weapon, even only at R1 it's definitely her BiS and you'll never want to use anything else on her. C1 also makes her feel a lot better to play and not as dependent on shields, you can comfortably dash cancel instead of jump cancelling and use those s to dodge attacks. I used Shimenawa's for the longest time because my CW pieces had garbage stats, but eventually switched back to CW after strongboxing for better pieces. Both sets are good, but CW is more reaction-dependent and I think her dps ceiling is higher with CW. Try to aim for an average of 30+ crit value on all your artifacts if you can, your current ones are around 20-25-ish and that's a very good start. EM and HP% are good stats too of course!

@@platnm Makes sense, it's usually a good idea to round out your teams first with a good selection of characters. Pulling for constellations or 5-star weapons on F2P/low-spending accounts should generally be saved for reruns, unless you have insane luck or something lol. Plus since fate points don't carry over between weapon banners, you generally need to skip a lot of banners to save up for a guaranteed 5-star weapon, so the weapon banners just aren't very F2P friendly.

I’ll say like getting weapons from weapon banners is never worth it or even getting constellation of 5 star characters as if u just constellation of 4 stars they are awesome and their performance can compensate for bad artifact of any main dps characters atlest that’s what I have noticed and it working so far for me.

If u can get 2 pc Crymson and 2 pc Shimenava that will make huge improvements in damage comparison to 2 pc EM.

Dragon's Bane is a really good 4* weapon for her, the best for an f2p player, but that's only if you have the necessary Crit stats on your artifacts. If your artifacts give you a decent amount of EM, but not enough crit rate/damage then a crit weapon would be more optimal. Sadly the only crit weapons available for an f2p is Jade Spear from the gotcha or Blackcliff from the starglitter shop, which I don't recommend unless you're really desperate. If you're a small spender, then I definitely recommend the battlepass weapons. The new Ballad of Fjords might do really well on her since it's a crit weapon and the passive gives you EM if you have 3 different elements on your team. As for artifacts, you could even use 2 piece Wanderer's Troupe and 2 piece gladiator if you manage to get decent pieces from doing bosses. It's not the best set combo for her, but it can work in the worst case scenario if you don't have CW or Shimenawa. Otherwise just focus on mainstats and substats over set bonuses until you get the sets you need. Edit: misspoke about artifacts, which is now fixed.

i use beido C3 u burst as shield and xingqiu C1 burst with it actually works pretty well , i might add kazuha if i get it in next banner (also waiting for zhongli ) but its the most i can do as F2P guy

I’ll recommend using Bennet with then better than Kazuha and I’ll highly recommend getting Neuvillette over Kazuha but in the end it’s your choice.

I’ll say what I have noticed with 4 star weapon I go as close to 30k hp and 400Em with double hydro in team and then I focus on crit rate and crit damage so something like 70 crit rate 170 crit damage I have with those stata.

Except that everything was ours scrap so i nust used virdescent benner and a royal musk circlet with 64% crit dmg . By good i mean decent. Instead i saud screw it virdescent and shinemina and that royal masque 77%/194% crit/crit DMG. Em don't remember

For crymson best you can do is the artifact converter thingi to get crymson as it’s not a good idea to farm it.

Hmm let’s see Keqing is an onfield character including Neuvillette and Hutao. So u can’t use them with each other. That being said I’ll not be Getting NeuVillette becus there are only so many hydro characters I can have as far as I know Hydro Archon will launch in next patch and another must have Hydro 5star is Yelan. About Hutao she is the strongest single target Dps in Genshin impact and in her best team she is UNKILLABLE. And she is very fun to play with for beginners I’ll recommend watch My 4th slot Hutao video where I Showed you her best F2P team and it’s has Xingqiu and Diona in it. If u decide to wish and get hutao Xingqiu and Diona for the banner you can instantly make team if all 3 plus one more other characters. And about Your Keqing if u like I can make a video for Her as I m bit bored.

all of them take a long time on the field, which is why you can't pair either of them with Keqing. try pairing her up with the Dendro traveler, xingqiu, and fishl together. if you don't have fischl then use sucrose. if you don't have either use Beidou or Neolle.

You actually have r5 deathmatch.

White tassel R5 works better than Dragon’s Bane R1 lol ,so just use white tassel unless your dragon’s bane is r3 or higher (obviously NA wise ,duh)

i use a 4p crimson witch but the funny part is no EM it all 50% cc to 220cd and my charge attacks comeout at like 55k i wish i had EM on my artifacts but no luck

Which artifact set you got btw you can reduce crit rate to 60 if you can also, dragons bane is much much better if you can replace it with deathmatch and use Crit rate headpiece. Use EM sands over Hp mostly slightly better.

if you have her C1 then that won't be necessary. the point of a shielder is just to use as much stamina as you can on charged attacks and not waste it on dodging. just to squeeze out every bit of damage in the spiral abyss, but it won't make much difference in the open world.

My Hu-Tao's team is - Xingqiu, Yelan and Layla (since I don't have Zhongli and also Layla's shield is stronger than Diona's). My Hu-Tao is C2 and using Primodal Jade with 4 pcs Crimson.

if you can get the 4 pcs Crimson its Better but if you dont want to farm for It its ok

I find this video relaxing and realistically relatable at the same time. the showcases with real time commentary is such a nice way of literally showing the viewers what it's like, and it feels like we are the ones playing and trying out the things showed in the video. it is also an in-depth and straight to the point. I also like that you are theory crafting by showing and doing it in-game not just showing it statistically. (unlike those 30min videos but are just all general informations that everybody already knows)

In terms of shield strength she is strong but her shield shoots stars that messes up the reactions and that’s bad overall.

I use lyala and xingqiu with hu tao... I use white tessla for CR ... My CR and CD is 58.9% and 220..f2p player..

With Childe will Bonus get NA +1 and double hydro

You can use layla instead of diona

Scarlet Sands is better when Hu Tao is in a vape team comp with some EM in her build. while Jade Spear is better in a mono-pyro team with 4-pc Shimenawa. of course, this might vary depending on Hu Tao's constellations, playstyle, team comp, and the enemy's resistance to the pyro element. but generally speaking, they are both so good on her so use whichever you have.

Use 2 hydro, 2 pyro team for hu tao

Is diona or thoma better for shield hu tao (f2p)

Well with Double hydro EM sands is slightly better but if u have better stats on hp sands it may perform very close. Btw I did made lots of new HuTao Videos you may wana check out for things you don’t know about increasing damage ETC.

Perfect timeing You can use it but every other polearm does more damage than that. And also you can craft polearm from Sumeru if u need f2p option just R1 of that polearm.

Can you make a guide on how to nuke with hu tao .. am kinda confused i used furina benny kazuha and hu tao touched 200k but like ive tried the 20 time more but all i get is 110 k 120 k like how to nuke consistently

Tbh it’s actually very simple use hutao Mona sucrose and Bennet. Reduce hp of hutao as much you can, Bennet burst and swirl pyro with sucrose (E skill is easy)then Mona burst and e skill to apply hydro wait 2 seconds switch to hutao E and Burst make sure her hp is less then 50% for max damage. There are lots and lots of variations of these with different characters but I m sure it’s really frustrating to do with furina.

u can use thoma and layla for a shield, but hu tao doesnt rlly need shields at all

There is no "correct" way to play any character. Hutao doesn't necessarily need charge attacks, especially for c0. you can pair her with Yunjin for light atk/hybrid atk build, and its very fun and easy to play. Zhongli (shield spot) isn't super necessary as well. A well-build Hutao has a pretty big hp bar, and the burst can provide healing effects in case of emergency. Xingqiu has knockout resistance and damage reduction already, making Hutao pretty tough without a shield. White Tassel is a solid weapon for her, especially if you go for light atk build. But even in a charge attack build it isn't bad at all, thanks to crit chance buff. Shimenawa's Reminiscence is a very solid artifact set for Hutao (if you're not going for burst build). The damage is comparable to crimson witch set, and the you get the Emblem of Severed Fate at the same time (one of the most versatile sets in the game). Remember your own reasons for pulling characters in the first place. For me, I only pull characters because I actually like them, not because of how strong they are. If you're really stressed about maxing out every single aspect of you team, everything i just mentioned is bullshit, and just save for Neuvilette and Furina not Hutao.

Im a hutao main she works perfectly w 2pc CW and 2pc atk ver/glad/shime?etc 4pc marachausse works w furina and 2pc pyro 2pc guilded/trupe(ganyuset) but CW(crimsom) deals more dmg 2pccw 2pc atk can do more dmg depending of sub stats dragons bane is go to f2p , deathmatch not f2p but ok , blackclif solid , lithic meeh , and pls dont pull hutao for white/black tessel 30k~ hp Id say is the go to minimum 31k~ the sweet spot 32.8~ the good one 33k+ good , and if u get 31+ without hp sans then good.. 38k+hp cap multiplier will still do alot dmg but would be more w diff build .. if WHALE ONLY" then CW full crit dmg and instead of crit rate get some er since she wont be much on field can use as a """"fast swap" do some fast charged and then burst so always have burst the rest of recommended sub stats remain (em atk hp) EM sans deals more dmg around 85em Id say minimum EM and around 315 de cap multiplier about mechanics theres some CA stamina optimisations if u search and about she being a ca char keep in mind shes a native nuker artifacts for her team is almost mandatory noblese and mililith, instructor if possible ,songs of days past if w xian(but2pc2pc atk buffs more even w cons) if u strugle w the domain artifact theres CW on strongbox and strongbox have a higher chance of 4 line rolls lvl 90 is recommended cause more hp atk and crit dmg for talents crown everything cause all is important , less important Id say is her burst because often ppl have now healers in the team and she usually have no ER%

I don't understand Crimson Witch on Hu Tao. The 2-piece Pyro DMG bonus is nice, but the 4-piece doesn't seem to fully compliment Hu Tao. Sure, the Reaction DMG is nice, but the Pyro DMG buff is really meant to be used on characters who hane multiple hits with their Skill, like Diluc, Klee, or Yanfei. Hu Tao only hits once with her Skill before charge-attacking everything, so she doesn't make the most of Crimson Witch's effect. I prefer Shimenawa's Reminiscence on her, because it also increases her damage even if you don't get a reaction out of it, and I tend to use her burst sparingly anyway, as her Charged Attacks are where most of her damage comes from.

Who is your healer or shielder? shimenawa drains your burst right? I wish 4pc wanderer's troupe can be used by all weapons so it has the same charge attack buff like shimenawa. Plus the em it gives is more precious than atk for hutao.

@@marc-zf9jt Shielder is Zhongli, and yes, Shimenawa drains burst energy, but she usually fills it back up before the skill ends.

my hu tao is abt 30k hp after having yelan and xingqui in the team, i use 4 piece crimson. for my weapon i use deathmatch, after this video i want to build my dragons bane now lmao. but for my stats i currently have 150em from artifact sub stats, my er is 120%, cause i use bennett as my battery with maidens set for healing. my crit rate with deathmatch is 77, crit damage with my 4 piece crimson is 222%, i do want the black cliff polerarm to see how much it increases my overall damage since it gives an aditinal 55% crit damage at lvl 90 which would put me at 40-50 crit rate and abt 277 crit damage and i would still have my 150 em. so idek ima build a few different weapons and hopefull one works out better than my lvl 90 deathmatch
