UPDATED Found My Wife of 5 Yrs Cheating. Made Excuses & Begs for 2nd Chance But I'm Divorcing Her...

When we met, Wendy took pictures of everything, primarily selfies of her with others. Knowing that she must have had some pictures of us from that time, I yanked the hard drive and looked at it. It seemed okay. The problem must have been somewhere else. Wanting to surprise her with pictures of when we first started dating, I waited until she left to go visit her sister before I plugged it into a SATA cable connector to my PC.
There were pictures there. Plenty of pictures. Some were of us on dates, laughing, smiling. They brought back some good memories. But there were also others of her with different people. One person in particular I remembered. His name was "Bob" and Wendy had dated him before me. There were lots of pictures of her and Bob. I wanted to grab only our pictures, so I thought the easiest way would be to organize them by date, figuring the latest pictures would be of only us.
But when I clicked them by date, a lot of her pictures with Bob were jumbled up with pictures of us. I began to open the pictures one by one and noticed that in a few of her pictures with Bob, where they were cuddling and kissing, she was wearing a necklace/locket that I had given her as a birthday present in the second year we were dating.
STORY:
Wife of 5 years cheated and now I feel absolutely nothing for her. Nothing... and that scares me (with updates)

I have a lawyer friend who has two personalities, she fun and friendly most of the time, then she enters lawyer mode and becomes an unfeeling nightmare, which is as hilarious as it is terrifying. You see she 5ft 7in in heels so most people (guys, generally) don't think much of her, which is a mistake, she was a drama kid and liked playing bad guys in high school so she knows how to command an audience. Most lawyers who know about her will push for settlement rather than fight in court because they know she will crush them. It funny to me because she once got out of skipping her homework by pretending to be a hamster, and she's the woman I will give any price she asks to give me a clean divorce.

I mean it’s basically the same thing you’re saying with the girlfriend or wife kissing, cuddling and sleeping with other men. See how stupid that sounds? Cheaters are a reservoir of denial and minimizing with their excuses and gaslighting. "It was a mistake." "It meant nothing." "I don't love him (or her). "You're the only one I love." "It was just a fling." "I was bored." "You neglected me." "I don't know why I did it." and my personal favorite.... "You work too much." Not an exhaustive list by any means, but these are probably the most common ones.

It leaves too much time available for mischief.

I think the most important part of that was where she refused to hand over her phone at the settlement conference. This proves 100% that she continued cheating when she was married. To connect the dots. She wanted reconciliation that was her aim, she claimed she had never cheated during her marriage. She was offered a chance to prove her claim, this in her mind would of been a win for her Yet what did she do refuse vehemently. If she had not cheated during marriage then the phone would of contained no evidence of this It would be a win for her a chance to reconcile which she wanted. In short logically the only reason for her to refuse is if the phone contained further evidence of her cheating. Otherwise she would of been happy to let them examine it and get a chance at what she wanted. So it proves cheater cheat if they cheat on you once they will do so again. This bloke is lucky that he will never now the extent of how much she cheated and does not care.

It is interesting that the OP seems to have no inkling that throughout the 5 years of their marriage she continued with her affair or affairs and it only came out when things were over. I have to say full marks to his lawyer for jumping on this. I do not know if he had any suspicions that she was cheating whilst she was married as he never mentions it and his motivation is the proof that she was cheating whilst engaged but it obviously never stopped. When something like this occurs it becomes hard to dispel the once a cheater always a cheater sayings but at the end I feel sorry for his lawyer. She is obviously a great divorce lawyer but what must her attitude to marriage be like and what must her mindset be like to go straight to the well if you cheated before marriage you cheated during marriage. It's good in that it will allow him to act without emotions clogging things up but the downside is it's unreliable, you never know when it's gonna slip off and then he's gonna emotionally meltdown. If he sticks to no-contact it'll probably hold up until something changes, like paperwork is signed or she gives up and just goes away, some emotional landscape has to shift essentially.

I think this attitude has kept me grounded with everything I do. However this post cleared up any and all doubt about me going NC. One friend once said to me going no contact is silence. The same happened to me regarding the laptop. A few months into us dating her ex contacted me saying she cheated on me with him and sent screenshots of their messages, she convinced me he had fabricated those screenshots, three years into the relationship and we own a house together and have two dogs, I was using her old laptop to edit some videos as I don’t have my own that isn’t a work one, I save a video then see a folder with all of the imessage conversations between her and her ex and it confirms 3 years down the line that she had in fact cheated and kept it secret this whole time. She went hysterical and smashed up the laptop then tried to kill herself which convinced me to stay with her for fear of her actually succeeding in committing suicide if I did leave her. Two years passed after that and then in August 2020 she abruptly left me for her brother’s friend, a gay man up until then, who she is now engaged to and getting married to in 2021. She essentially stole 5 years of my life from me, and the only reason I was with her for the last two were to stop her from killing herself. Some people are just so selfish….
