Done mine ages ago. For the rear number plate lights you can buy the whole unit with approx 16 leds in each. Had them fitted to mine for over 2 years and still all ok, and cheap.

I added led headlights to my S80 (dipped beam only) and bluish-white parking lights a while ago. It has Completely transformed the look of my S80. And the LEDs are from Amazon with the correct beam pattern and passes my MOT. Completely changed night time driving as those halogen bulbs were awful. 2011 D3

Be aware new rules coming into force soon, led bulbs will be a fail MOT if fitted to halogen head lights.

@@wacman this is why I haven’t bothered changing mine. I will just put in some halogens that are advertised as brighter whiter lights from Phillips or something but only when I can get a deal on them! Lol

this is why i like volvo from 2008- when you can remove that headlight, my last 2006 volvo s60 was pain tight im going to buy a 2008 volvo s80 t6 awd s80 looks nice :)

Led in the numberplate lights is something u have to do it looks so much nicer. Great channel really enjoy your content especially about your volvo

Hi, I just upgraded the front parking bulbs on my 2012 XC70 for LED’s like you did. (Osram not cheap chinatown) Did you get any error message on your dash regarding these bulbs? I got one. Can I get rid of it somehow? Cheers

I did try to repace the interior to led on my 59 v70. They all popped amediately. Is there a certain type i should be useing. Thanks

I have done this, but the led bulb was slightly too big. It press-fitted through the hole (and I thaught "uh oh"), did not work and didn't fit through the hole again on the way out, so only the empty socket came out. Now it resides in the bottom of the head light for ever.

What’s the best compatible led bulbs for the side/park lights?

Yes because they are not dipped or main beam :)

What are the strobes on the grille please?

Do you see a blue led glow when the lights are OFF due to the tip being blue and mirrors all around?

No :) they do glow very faintly for about a minute after the car is locked before it enters sleep mode :)

Nope :) they are white so hide very well in the light :)

Most volvos put a yellow sidelight on the edge on their cars. It is not the indicator, it is next to it. As you can see this volvo has basically 4 sidelights.

Hi Ben, unfortunately my car isn't fitted with parking sensors

Just updated my headlights to led on my c30. The only problem is, is the condensation which as accumulated in the headlight casing, that's because these aftermarket led lights have cooling fans on them and they stick out of the rear of the headlight case so you are unable to refit the plastic seal. Basically is there a way of avoiding this other than drilling 1" hole on the rear of the seals?

You can buy Osram (german automotive lightning company) easyled series, where the led is a perfect fit with no sticking ouz so you can refit the seal. I dont know if they have that series of led in the usa (it has debuted this year) but i believe osram is called sylvania there

I thought it was illegal to replace normal lights by LED lights for the front and the back of the car!

The bulbs should be cambus I use long nose angled pliers to remove and refit the bulbs on my XC70. Easy Peasy

I just got a 2009 S40 R Design diesel and pulling out the headlights for a cleaning and new bulbs is one of my first priorities, I don't think I've ever had a car with such awful headlights. I will definitely do this LED upgrade to the "City lights" as well. It's nice they come out entirely from the car though. I didn't even realise I had under mirror lighting till I pressed the button on the remote fob, they don't come on at night when the car is unlocked automatically which is a bit rubbish

Or just get an older P2 V70R. My 04 came with glass HID's.
