You are such a nerd... and I love it!

Hello! I just came across your videos a few weeks back and I have been learning so much! I'm at a point in my life where I need to know what I believe and why...make my faith my own, and coming from a Baptist/non-denominational background, I am learning ideas from you that I had no idea even existed! I also wanted to let you know that I am working through a study on Revelation that my pastor has on KZread and cross referencing it with yours. Thank you for your content!

I may end up having to make me a digital notebook (like the alphabetical one you have). That’s a really neat idea and would love to see more videos on how to make one

What a great idea for a topical digital miscellanies! I'm thinking I'll do it for a prescribed amount of time, say 6 months. Then I'll print out all the notes under each letter alphabetically and put it in a binder. Six months later I'll print out all the "new" notes only of the last 6 months using the same system. Then I'll interleave each printout under it's letter. Thus I'll have a running printed listing of my digital topics in case something happens to my digital ones.

@@mr.berimbolo827 I’m using a NLT and all I do is highlight verses or passages that I have questions about and write my answers on a journal once I figure out what it’s saying. So basically asking questions as I read the text.

I thought I decided to do everything in paper, but now I am reconsidering because of your brilliant idea to print your notes for classes you teach. Thank you! You are a blessing to me. 💜✝️

Confession...... I'm a Spirit-Filled Geek! Great video, Pastor!

After watching your previous video on miscellanies notebooks, I started one using a Mnemosyne 104. It is a B5-sized (almost the size of my Bible), 5mm (I write small) dot grid notebook. The paper takes a fine fountain pen nib decently. I am thankful for your videos on the topic.

I hadn’t thought of using a B5 😦 I LOVE that idea! Then I can have my mind maps and notes on one page, maybe even a printed photo. Brilliant! I’m partial to the Stalogy B5 grided notebook, myself. I am heading to Amazon now! Thank you so much!

@missnurseeri I have a Stalogy grided notebook. The cover is not water resistant, though, which gives me pause. A great notebook, though!

Funny I’ve been taking notes from scripture in several notebooks for a few years and have been wanting to sort it all out by subject. I didn’t know that was a “thing.” Seeing your systematic notes I guess that’s what I’ve been doing without realizing it. 😆 Thanks

Wanted to mention, I came up with a way to not waste pages in the Miscellanies journal. Start the table of contents in the back of the journal, and continue it by using the next pages to the left. This way, your actual Miscellanie writings will meet your table of contents once you've filled the notebook. You won't have to worry about providing enough room for the table of contents. Hope this makes sense! Its very hard to explain over text!

I actually use my notebooks that way writing back to from to save pages as you said.

I was curious how your “system” has been going! I’ve been playing around with Obsidian, and linking notes together has been fun. But I still come back to analog notebooks and my Bible. Great video.

Oh, goodness, I did buy your book! And I did struggle with it because it didn't seem to "flow" like a regular book. I didn't get far. I thought maybe I wasn't understanding it. Or maybe your writing style was just not for me. Thanks for explaining! Now that I understand better, I'll go through it a bit again.

You ever consider using one of those e-ink not takers, like remarkable or supernote?

I’d like a review or at least a spotlight on the book holder on the far side of your desk. Looks really nice.

have you taken a look at the zettelkasten system? I've seen quite a few videos on creating a zettelkasten (a note box) in software called Obsidian -- the beauty of Obsidian is that it doesn't use proprietary document format -- everything is saved in plain text with minimal markup so it could all be backed up by just copying all the files in a worst case scenario (you know ... Obsidian gets bought by Microsoft and gets disappeared). Zettelkasten can be done in paper as well - it was sort of codified in the analog era from many previous ideas along the same lines. Lots of sources on the topic - wondered if you'd seen it and passed it over for specific reasons.

Thank you for freely sharing your methods and thoughts. Greatly appreciated. Have you found any inconvenience in having your notes/references in the places other than just your Bible? For example, do you find yourself telling a person you'll get back to them after your check something when you get back to your notebook/office? Is the notebook system's reduced mobility an issue at all?

Increase the font on your papers to increase pagination. Hahaha! I would not have begotten away with that. Thank you for the review. Was choosing between Crossway's verse by verse preaching or the wide margin. But did not know they had a large print wide margin. Hope your J.E. study Bible work is going well.

How do you backup your digital notes? I love digital notes and they make me nervous all at the same time. Lol

I wonder if by any chance there might be a good church to recommend in the general area where I am. By "good" I don't mean perfect. But one that faithfully stands for the gospel and where solid learning takes place because in-depth and meaty teaching is not seen as undesirable. I'm in western Connecticut.
