- focus on good and a lot of sleep
- long walks to restore mitochondrial function
- ice baths before training

Welcome to the Martial Arts Journey KZread channel!
My name is Rokas. I'm a Lithuanian guy who trained Aikido for 14 years, 7 of them running a professional Aikido Dojo until eventually I realized that Aikido does not live up to what it promises.
Lead by this realization I decided to make a daring step to close my Aikido Dojo and move to Portland, Oregon for six months to start training MMA at the famous Straight Blast Gym Headquarters under head coach Matt Thornton.
After six months intensive training I had my first amateur MMA fight after which I moved back to Lithuania. During all of this time I am documenting my experience through my KZread channel called "Martial Arts Journey".
Now I am slowly setting up plans to continue training MMA under quality guidance and getting ready for my next MMA fight as I further document and share my journey and discoveries.

You can see the difference in my energy levels, as during the main filming I still had energy left, but at the end (when filming the intro) I was already spent 😅

Is eastern europe not famous for all these berry stuff there like dewberrys or black goji? In these there should be already most of the stuff in your list, except for the vitamin D or something. But then are there not big lakes with healthy clean fish there? If i look up like 12 Most Beautiful Lakes in Lithuania, it looks this way. Maybe try rather go on the local market instead of the discounter.

Those are excellent supplements for anti-viral as well as anti-aging. No doubt people give you all sorts of unsolicited advice, why would I be different, lol. I would add the amino acid L-Lysine. It is a proven anti-viral. It works by limiting the virus' ability to use your cells to replicate. There is no proof, as yet, that it works with c0vid but at the minimum it can help with secondary infections. Another supplement I would add is Quercetin. Quercetin helps the zinc actually get in the cells.

I donated an irresponsible amount of money (lol, yolo) to USDC2 so I I got an email saying that I can watch the first 2 episodes on patreon if I want, but I'd prefer to wait until they get released on the main channel because it will feel more like the hype for the first season where everyone was waiting a week for each new episode and there was a huge frenzy when the episode finally got released. It's just more fun to watch with knowing thousands of other people are seeing it and looking down at the comments sections full of thousands of comments saying that this is one of the best things on youtube.

Hey man, I just wanted to say that I've been dealing with crushing fatigue and sleepiness for over a year at this point and I've been continiously told that there is nothing wrong with me, that I'm just lazy/unmotivated, depressed, that I need to exercise more and stuff, even though I was by no means inactive before. Your story is a very unfortunate yet eye-opening example of how even people who are active can suffer from fatigue and how doctors (at least in my experience) quickly jump to the conclusion that if you're tired, you're just lazy, since "we're all tired". You're clearly an extremely resilient and hard-working person and yet even you have been struck down with fatigue and brain fog. It took me over a year to finally convince my GP to refer me to a neurologist to test for sleep disorders after having to bash my head against a wall trying to explain to everyone that it really isn't my fault that I'm so tired and sleepy. I just want to say that I wish you the best of luck. Fatigue and brain fog are very misunderstood and underestimated by many people, including medical professionals. But this is not to say that this isn't real. Take care Rokas, take as much time as you need to recover.

I picked Covid up on a cruise ship a few months ago (no I'm not rich, it was a deal!). Docked in Rotterdam and a friend of mine went into Amsterdam to check out all the knocking shops. I was stuck in the room shivering and looking out the window all day at a guy in a crane going up and down a high rise cleaning the windows, and some old woman came out on to her balcony every two hours to smoke a cigarette. Best holiday ever....... Also suffered with the brain fog and a strange almost spinning sensation for quite some time after. It takes a while but you'll get there. Looking forward to seeing you back on your game Rokas, all the best.

When I have the finances man, I am coming for your Patreon ASAP. You deserve to protect your creative freedom on this project because it is so amazing already. You deserve to keep doing what you love and is working before considering making changes to your approach if you don't think it would help!! I'm so glad you are recovering well; health is a primary concern. For real stay strong on your vision for the show, real fans aren't gonna shame you for being this awesome. Large audiences are hard to manage; I'd say be clear about communication but unafraid to establish boundaries like in any relationship. Don't be put off by a supporter threatening to not support you bc they want to exercise some sort of control; clearly, they weren't the right investor because they didn't believe in the vision you pitched. Thems the breaks, but Patreon/crowdfunding shouldn't ultimately restrict your ability to create how you want to. Your artistic project is not a publicly traded company (perhaps my opinion), and you should absolutely hear out your supporters concerns but yeah, just be clear about communication of what support means and provide a way to hear concerns out and respond to them. Be firm about how you're doing things if you need, don't be wrathful, and just don't lose sleep about people who can't agree to disagree with ya if it comes up~ Seriously going to be showing your show to as many of my friends as I can. Love it my guy.

Resting effects of COVID ain't no joke. Comes from both COVID itself and even from the shot. For me, Omicron kicked back my asthma that was gone since 7th grade and had me on inhalers for couple months. I feel you, wish you swift recovery, and take as much time for yourself. Although I am beyond thrilled to go on yet another epic adventure with USDC, you deserve rest and sound recovery. It sucks not being able to do what you love because of your body failing (I too share your pain at the moment), but recovery is just as important task and requires all the efforts you can give. Hearty meals, great sleep, ample love. Keep it going till you're ready to fly in the gym, and never say enough! We're a supportive community, and we martial artists are patient bunch so don't stress! From my personal experience, everyone I know that got the shot (Pfizer) and didn't get super sick from Covid are feeling just fine, even people with a history of allergies. I, on the other hand, got a very bad Covid infection and ended up with long Covid. If I am not mistaken, that's what you see happening with populational data as well. Chances are taking shots is still safer than not doing it. As for me, after two long years I still don't feel like myself. Brain fog is getting slowly better, as well as my energy levels, but it feels like I am going to end up in a sub-optimal plateau. Long Covid is no joke. Much love to you, Rokas! I've learned from a major bout with the worst depression of my life is that if you don't help yourself first, you can't help anyone else. "Help" being used loosely here, as that can mean give, entertain, teach, etc. etc. Sometimes it sounds/feels selfish, but when it gets that serious it's actually the opposite. I loved USDC season 1, the editing was phenomenal (you're seriously a pro at that) so I, being poor, have only my dreams. I spread my dreams at your feet. Tread softly, lest you---wait a sec...I'll rephrase that. Being poor, I have no problems waiting until September for all of season 2. Which is odd coming from someone as impatient as me. Prayers for your health, and I hope Gabby is doing well too!

Bro. Thanks for all the content you make. I will always enjoy and watch whenever you deside to release anything. Having someone make content to watch is a privaledge and im just grateful you do. So thank you for that. But truthfully at the end of the day i just wish you and your family all the best even if you decide to go off youtube and never make anything again. Ill just be happy that at some point you blessed us with your story and hard work.

I’ve had COVID twice. The first time I was knocked out for 2 weeks in the manner you described. Couldn’t do anything but sit on the couch and exist and then take a nap because even that was exhausting (it was a terrible time to have a new puppy, let me tell you). A year later I got it again but bounced back in 48 hours…almost…for about 5 months I lost all energy to do anything besides work and chores every now and again. Take your time and don’t be hard on yourself for not being able to do as much as you used to. Recovering from illness is work too.

Most of your videos involve almost giving up, struggles, doubt , high stress, etc. Have you thought about burnout? Not as a substitute for Long Covid, but as something that may be allowing that to happen, or at least impede your recovery. How's your mental health? (not to be answered, but just food for thought) :D Cheers and love from Brazil. Wish you a full recovery

You received the true wisdom of Aikido and have taken it to its logical and spiritual conclusions! You are still doing so in learning MMA, and you are still doing so in recovering from your illness! Don't let those cult abusers get to you, still! They were just jealous of your mastery, your true inner strength!
