Dang, it's crazy how Bayonetta's evolved and grown over the years. I can't say I'm not scared for the future of Bayonetta, but all the best to Kamiya and his future :D Also dozens of pages of scripts? @@Rakunx Honestly, I have no idea. Given that the dates were 2009, 2014, and 2022, I'd say around 5-7 years, but I don't want to wait that long 😭

My only concern is that with him leaving platinum the devil may cry references may possibly fade away in the future installments along with the chance of bayonetta and dante ever having any sort of interaction ....

I’m with you on this. I love Dante and Bayonetta so much I was really hoping for a potential crossover. The thought that it might never happen now makes me kind of sad.😢

I hope they make Bayonetta 4 actually good. Things don’t tend to go well for a franchise when someone, especially the director, leaves…

I’m pretty concerned, because I really really REALLY wanted some kind of crossover between Bayonetta and Devil May Cry. I love both franchises equally so much. I can only hope that there’s still a possibility.😢😥

This wasn't what i expected to read this morning, and I'm sure his decision was set in motion by the initial response to Bayonetta 3. I trust that he chose a non disruptive time to finally take a bow and exit. (Been a few years since I heard about it mind you. He would have been perfect. More so in the twisted enemy design if Bayonetta were to take on darker story now. 😍😍

I'm honestly excited to see what other projects he'll be a part of! I LOVE the Bayonetta series, but my gateway into Bayonetta was actually with Okami HD (and Smash, but that's more obvious). I'm not worried about Bayonetta's direction so much in the future, but I do hope some of what Kamiya had originally planned for future Bayo games isn't outright dismissed. He did state he had things figured out for what comes after Bayo 3's Story, and that'll it'll make sense more in retrospect why it ended the way it did. (I seem to recall him saying something like that in an interview, at least. Please correct me if I'm wrong). Don't know what'll happen, but I'd love him to work on an Okami 2, as he's stated his desire to work on it, along with Ikumi Nakamura as well. Speaking of which, Ikumi's new studio, UNSEEN, is currently filling out positions. Though, that's just wild speculation. Best of luck to all parties, and can't wait to see more games!

It would be interesting to see what the direction would be for Bayonetta. Especially with how he seemed quite excited for the stories for nine (9) games. Hopefully he has some kind of layout for the plot and whoever takes over would honour jt but still have their own unique works into it? It's definitely going to be a wait for anything new but unfortunately, thats all we can do, wait. I'm really hyped for the next videos!! 💪😎💕

This. It's like people forgot how much of a manchild Kamiya is and he can't admit that Bayo 3's story is a trainwreck, so something like this isn't too surprising. Hopefully the people who worked on the previous Bayo games come back at least. Especially the dance choreographer.

Obviously he only worked on DMC 1, but I love all of them lol. Except for 2...that was a bit much. And errr. "DMC" - the one that came before 5. I played that one, but it was certainly a bit different. I'm a bit of a Devil May Cry nut.

Hi Rakunx, I'm not afraid about Bayonetta franchise. Hideki made a good job about Bayonetta games! I wish all the best to Hideki Kamiya even if he blocked me for years on Twitter, haha! Even if Hideki left Platinum Games, I'm sure we could have an awesome Bayonetta 4!

This series needs a reboot and needs to be multi platform. it's kinda funny how the games look hasn't really gotten that much better over the course of 3 games.

New Weapons, new demons, new masquerade demon, new chapters, new demons in ritual witch heart (queen Stxy)

Oh i didnt know he just preferred to not have DLC. And here i was always hoping these nintendo directs would announce an update for bayo 3 to bring in DLCs. Hopefully my wish comes true after he leaves 😌

I think the Bayonetta series will be fine. I still love this franchsie and I wish everyone the best at Platinum. Hope they can still create even more hit games.

But I'm concerned, Kamiya said that to Project X zone 3 was ever made he would push Bayonetta to be in it so Bayonetta and Dante could at last meet. Now that he's gone will such a scenario be possible anymore?

It all really depends on if Sega/Nintendo is willing to make something like that with Capcom PG and Kamiya can suggest it but unless they are told to make a game like that, they can't.

@@Rakunx One of them: Bingo Morihashi (DMC) Drew Karpyshyn (Mass Effect) David Gaider (Dragon Age) Chris Avellone (SW: KotOR 2) Though Bayonetta is not as story-heavy like the games the latter three has worked on.

I see the beta footage of bayo 2 and it was so much like 1 at first with like the humor and design the final product didn’t have. The climax in beta vs the one we got for example. But even so it was still good game. 3 didn’t have nothing. And was fun but there is no reason to run through the story again. Also those cutscenes segments make it annoying as well u can’t skip them. The enemies are not as fun to fight. Either. Compared to angels. The humanoid homunculi are the funnest cause u can juggle then and actually tell what the hell they are doing.

yes because regardless of what she did her voice still fits the character better and she brought the best parts of bayonetta's personality out. The voice actress for cammy from street fighter would be a better fit honestly because jennifer while shes good she just doesnt do it.

Which would you rather? :> 1. Introduce a new writer, or “Kevin Feige” for the franchise who’ll either continue what Kamiya left, or rewrite the underlying plot entirely. 2. Bayonetta stops releasing games and content.

I wish Kamiya the best on his journey outside Platinum Games, but this is probably the best thing that could have happened for the future of the series. His vision, which supposedly extended all the way to Bayonetta 9, was looking very bleak after the mess Bayonetta 3's story and overall execution was. I know it's not entirely Kamiya's fault that Bayonetta 3's story was a flop. His original concept art and ideas for the game that we got to see in "The Eyes of Bayonetta" artbook looked phenomenal. BUT at the end of the day I feel it was poor writing to introduce a brand new character to the series, then name them the successor of the franchise in the same game after killing off the original main character. Even worse was his copout when the fans were enraged by this decision. "You guys just didn't understand the ending." Maybe it would have turned out better if he got to be the director of 3, but the way I see it... if DMC succeeded this well without his presence, I'd love to see what will happen to Cereza with a new director and some new writers.

@@chefmememaker8277 I'm not sure about the whole story of things, I don't think anyone is, apart from the parties involved :/ Though whoever owns the Bayo IP, sets the price of things. It may be unethical to pay an unreasonable amount but it is their IP at the end of the day. That's why unions exist and what the SAGAFTRA strikes are fighting for :) Hellena had the right to negotiate a better deal, probably higher than 20k; and probably did, I'm not sure. Her act of asking for help on Twitter while also omitting some things was quite unprofessional though. I would've preferred them all to have discussed things and come to an agreement privately. Whether or not someone owes someone, it's out of my control :/

honestly, im kinda happy he finally left, what he did in Bayo 3 was rlly not good, hopefully they get someone who's a real fan and a actual script director to make B4 a true GoTY like MK1 remake

Listen I’m just curious as to if bayonetta 4 will be made, it has had many years in between the 2 and third (I can’t say much on the overall spacing of the series development I’m fairly new all things considered) and bayonetta isn’t the most well known, it ain’t niche but it’s not always acknowledged. While I do agree story wise bayonetta 3 isn’t very good, the series was never the best at it the story from the beginning. Like is the resurrection of jublius supposed to be aesirs attempt at regaining power by going back in time? Where the fuck is Loki. are all the bayonetta’s we play the same person. WHY WON’T WE GET MORE EXPLANATIONS ON THE UMBRAN AND LUMEN CULTURES?! Sure we know the general basics but we keep on leaving that chapter alone despite it being one of the most interesting part of the bayonetta universe. Could Rodin give viola a lesson on lumen and Umbran cultures according to his wiki he’s a fallen angel and powerful one at that. Is jeane actually dead? And does Rodin kinda join the throuple in poker while they’re in hell. CAN WE FUCKING EXPLAIN ROSA’S AND BALDER’S RELATIONSHIP IT GETS WEIRD WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT HOW THEY MET AND THE FACT THAT BALDER PARTICIPATED IN THE FALL OF THE UMBRA. How far back does balders possession go? Like does he get possessed in the future then get dragged back to the past to when he is now leading the witch hunts, or did genuinely not know because she wasn’t going to survive if non possessed balder was trying to kill the umbra, she still counts despite all the outcasting. How possible is it that bayonetta, jeane, and Luka are in a throuple. Anyways if it isn’t clear the lore makes my head hurt and I’m staying here because I’m too far invested and the art is nice

I am pretty sure platinum is nearly done, nothing they made the last years was any good and that includes bayonetta3.

People all sad and worried about him leaving. And I'm like: The moment he came to us and said "You didn't like what happened to B3 then don't play B4, go away from the series". That felt like a big slap on the face. We player both 1 and 2. We went out of our ways to buy 2 on wII U and Switch. We kept for years making content of these games never letting them truly die or fall into oblivion. And that's what we get? "Fuck you, it's this and it;s done?" Then there's also people saying he wrote B3 but was asked not to interfere with the title too much, so he hadn't a lot of control, but once people started complaining about how bad the writting was he took that personally and got mad at it? If he didn't had enough control, why be mad and say what he said? Again, I, do not, care really. If B3 went the direction it went with him as the CEO and overseeing the project, then it doesn't matter if he's in the next game or not. At least for now on, if Platinum screw things up, they will see the actuall feedback (because B3 sold well because of B2 and 1 beeing good games and the hype. Just like The Last of US - Pt 2 sold a lot for the same reason). Now, what happened to B3 CAN reflect on B4 so maybe next time they see the community flipping out having the worst kind of reactions to the game's content, instead of giving us the middle finger and saying Fck U, they may do what Capcom did. Re3 Remake sold very well. However the reception was really bad. Capcom made sure to NOT fuck it up RE4 Remake. That's how it works. Let's hope that Platinum Studios with a new direction, one that is less of a weirdo that cannot take a single critiscism without flipping the tables on us, will listen to the people. Because I'm still trying to find ONE stream of Bayonetta 3 where the person playing the game at the end was Happy and joyful. And no, I know B3 has a sad ending, but the feeling everyone has, wasn't Sadness. Most people were ANGRY at it. If you aimed to sadness and sob story but hit on the anger and rage, then you did something really wrong. XD

I enjoyed Bayo 3, but it felt very disconnected from the series. It felt like a different game that Bayonetta just happened to be in. Also a Bayo Origins Game would have been awesome if it would have been the story of Rosa and Baldur., how they met and fell inlove, what drove them to be together..plus both would be awesome characters to play with amazing combat skills.

As much as I am grateful for him, Kamiya is a tool. He is rude to fans (blocking them if they message him in anything other than japanese, and blames them for their emotional reactions), he doesn't care about the fanbase's interests (what he did with Jeanne in 3 was deplorable), and he overall has a huge ego that ruins the quality of his games. I wish he just cared more about us because the fans are what kept bayonetta going.

Bayonetta 3 ruined the series so maybe without kamiya they can reboot and get things back on track
