That is quite involved. Great content. I have a MY20 with the 3.4 22251 (UUGH) and its issues. I will be upgrading to the 23088 version with hopes it will fix the settings reset issue, vehicle hotspot issue and the Sirius/XM 0 SID and losing of the preset pages from 5 back down to 2 pages...so irritating 22251 build has been for myself and so many others. I am probably going to jailbreak mine as well

It's supposed to fix the rwdata partition issue where folks who use CarPlay on their non nav units have similar issues that you're experiencing due to this storage partition becoming completely full of logs about CarPlay.

sounds like my20 system is just a nuisance - what is better about it besides it having the wiring and modem module (if thats good for anything at all for us guys that just like our own setups)- does it have wireless carplay? would you prefer a my20 or a 19? thank you sir love your work, absolute Guru.

Standard voice packages get updated with apps and gracenotes, say going from build xxxxx to zzzzz. Navigation voices are a separate package that are updated via this method when updating 2020+ units

i upgraded my 2013 taurus to sync 3 long time ago and i noticed i do not see blower wheel showing temp animation as seen in volume control but on my sons 2015 fusion which i upgraded to sync 3 it does show wheel with temp animation on main screen is there anyway i can fix this?

I got a 2020 ford Transit van that came with a non nav apim with Sync3. Iwas able to updated to 3.4.2251. I put a 2018 lincoln nav apim in it with an 8" touch screen and the touch screen work prefect. I had the maps loaded onses NA115 but it would tell me what town I was in but wouldn't show me any roads. After trying to reload the maps I lost the maps version, but it still say it's has nav but no map version. Can I use this procedure to load maps or is there a better to way do it. I jail broke it with no problems at all. It worked the first. Now I'm just having problems setting up the maps to load. thank you

hey man i have a 2015 base model focus and the car is coming with AM/FM/CD module. My question is can i upgrade to SYNC 4 inch model? As far as I know, the 4 inch SYNC module has 2 large connectors and 2 antenna inputs. the old model has 1 large connector and 1 antenna input. I wonder if the module will work even if there is an empty connector? PLS HELP

No, you can't... because you have not APIM module in Sync 2.5 but just ACM module with OS inside it, to get Sync 3 you should get custom harness, a Sync 3 APIM module and a Sync 3 ACM and then you will have to program the APIM module and maybe ACM module to work correctly on your car. I did it and it wasn't easy and cheap, it takes a lot of patience and a minimum of skills on how the CANBUS system works, how Ford's infotainment works and how AsBuilt Data programming works... Not to mention any APIM firmware updates as needed

You have to replace the APIM module and it's not cheap at all

You have to change the APIM to one that supports navigation. The nav is stored on the flash memory and if you're unit didn't come with it, there's no space to add it

Can I jailbreak without forscan ??

I didn’t know I have to jailbreak my20 apim. I have updated the apim with the updater and need to put the NA maps on, but I only have 19G of storage left because it has the old partition of original data on it. Couldn’t get it removed. I dont want to brick it so I was going to try just US map’s without Mexico or Canada taking up crucial space. Will this not be possible? And why do you suggest jailbreak the apim?

You don't have to, you'll just be stuck with updating via autoinstall, which A) takes forever, and B) limits you to non ESN locked maps packages. 2019 + 2020 NA maps are not ESN locked, but 2021 NA maps are.

You suggest I go that route and jailbreak then I will. I don’t know if I have enough room to get the job done with this apim anyway. I guess I could send it out for someone else try. I was working with a man who goes by Chief and we stopped just short of adding the maps. Oh well. I’m still using the apim everyday with Waze.

I tried this method after the official map update failed. I have jailbreak activated, even ssh access. I deleted all maps But when properly installing the maps and map voices, nothing changes. I even tried again with the official update (this time it installed) but navigation does not work. What could it be? It's a 2021 Bronco Sport (MY20 ) Thank you.

We don't have Sync 2.5 in the US so unfortunately I don't know anything about that system.

@@andrewlopez3430 if both you and that donor vehicle are in the US, grab it! Should be sync 3 (anything 2016 and beyond) and will work with CarPlay // Android Auto

Watch out for the scamware , malware, Tried to download and got nothing but a slowed down computer computer and I cannot even uninstall it, would recommend installing it on a separate hard drive if you can get around the crap
