Upcycling Tin Cans | A Unique and Beautiful DIY Gift

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This video will show you how to make a great DIY Mother's Day Gift upcycling tin cans.
If you are looking for an inexpensive and easy DIY for a Mother's Day gift, look no further! In this tutorial, you will learn how to turn and ordinary tin can and a napkin into a work of art!
You need to start with saving a few tin cans that you use in your house. Take both the top and bottom of them with a can opener, remove the label and glue and then wash them thoroughly.
Smash one end of the can with your hand and pound the other side with a hammer.
I painted mine with chalk paint, but you can use acrylic paint, if that's what you have or prefer. Let the cans dry thoroughly.
Using a hole punch for sheet metal or the pointed end of a bottle opener, and punch out two holes in the back so that you can insert ribbon in them for hanging, when you are finished.
Take a patterned napkin of your choice and separate the two layers. Discard the plain, white layer. Then tear a portion of the pattern that you choose to go on the front of the can. Make sure it will fit.
Paint with Mod Podge, and press on the napkin. Watch the video to see the rest of instructions. I will put links to some of the videos, below.

These are cute. My grand daughter is having a French country wedding next year and I'm going to make a garland like this.

I have one in my laundry room. It hangs near the dryer. I have it filled with dryer sheets. It’s soooo handy!
