Hi thanks for watching and commenting. I did make an embossed book cover with aluminum cans and alcohol ink. I am not very experienced using alcohol ink but I like the way it turned out. You can check it out here if you are interested kzread.info/dash/bejne/p6Fn29SdlJDegLw.html

Thanks it was fun to play with the paint colors and make a few messes. It kind of reminded me of my childhood finger painting days. 😁
Perfect. I am planning to make a tin pannel ceiling with a relief design in copper finish in my cabin. It needs to be metal for fireproofing over my woodstove. Real ones are extremely expensive so I am planning on making my own. This way I can have the look I want without breaking the bank with real copper sheet. Thank you for sharing.

@@janicescragg2388 I want to do something dramatic and beautiful on my kitchen ceiling and now I'm thinking I might do the same. Mine doesn't have to be fireproof so I can actually just paint the ceiling copper and then do the finish.
Absolutely love this. Great ideas

@@UpcycleDesignLab It's very pretty. And now that you've shown an easy way to get the hammered look I'll give that color a try!
This looks like a lot of fun, and I am definitely going to try it. Now I just have to find some aluminum cans, I don’t drink pop, and I live alone so I’m going to ask some family members to save their cans for me. A great way to distribute that paint would be dabbing with a sea sponge. Another way to get call textures is to come pull up some saran wrap and then open it up a little bit and lay it flat on your painted wet surface and let it dry. It will give a nice texture.

@@UpcycleDesignLab haha Thanku Im hoping it will be, at the moment my dining table is completely covered in all sorts of bits n bobs, copper fittings, pipes, hoses, gauges and a huge asst of other bits of junk, I've painted all I need to and prepped everything, which is the easy part, its the assembly of all the pieces now...🙄🥴😳 Steampunk looks like a bit of a pile of junk but putting it all together so it looks like a working mechanical machine is quite hard, I never really got into jigsaws which I think would help fit pieces together but I've worked on my car and a few Harley Davidsons so I should be ok hahaha. Fingers crossed and thanku for replying 🥰

I don't know if anyone mentioned this yet, but the specific nozzle is what helps make the hammered spray paint have that "hammered" look, as well as some paint additives. I don't know if this applies to every hammered look paint though!

Hi love you videos. Can you glue sheets together to make a bigger sheet
@UpcycleDesignLab
Жыл бұрын
Hi - I haven't found any glue that is great for this purpose. E6000 will hold but it is hard to spread evenly. I have also used clear mounting tape that is made for metal but it is thick and doesn't make a flat even seam. My favorite product for attaching the sheets together is metal tape but it has its own draw backs. It is visible and it is not a very strong tape but it is very tacky and easy to work with. Hope that helps thanks for watching 😊

Hi Janet - That's a good tip. I will have to give it a try. Thanks for watching.
the hammered tip is the standard spray can tip ... the larger tip on the other copper is a micro spray tip ... the hammered has flockulent in it ... the other two dont ...

@@UpcycleDesignLab something else you could do for that real copper look ... electroless plating and electro plating ... electroless using a chemical reaction the other a basic battery and chunk of copper tube or bar etc ...
I was in AWE, never knew how to do this, but how do you seal it?
