My parents were paying over $5,000 monthly for their tiny assisted living apartment. If I remember correctly, had only one bedroom. They moved out of that place and into an apartment with two bedrooms, larger living room and a real kitchen. Plus, it’s much less than the assisted living place. If I had the land I would do a home like this for them. Much respect for this family who are taking care of their parents.

I am in my sixties, and I can't imagine a better set up for getting older. Being right on her daughter's property is ideal. My daughter doesn't have the back yard to accommodate something like this, but I could absolutely see myself being very happy in this beautiful home.

I can't remember but I have seen that idea on youtube before, I'm pretty sure it was another couple who converted a shed to a family home and I remember thinking what a good idea that was. If I could have some land with those views I would love a big porch like that with screened windows to protect from bugs and a laundry building would be perfect.

Man! I’m loving this for my mom too!! She doesn’t do stairs very well, my dad is still living, but really, no matter who passes first I think this would be perfect for whoever is left behind. Not a whole lot of space to keep clean, no stairs, perfect. Put it in my backyard so they’re close to me and looks like everyone could really save money too with this kind of set up.

I absolutely love this, I have been fascinated with tiny homes for years but not sure I would want to go that small but this is plenty big enough, I would add one more room for crafting and the finish everywhere, the front and back porch just stunning! I am not old, only in my fifties although over here in the Uk once you reach your fifties that entitles you to buy property in retirement villages, but I would love this. I just wish it was easier over here to be able to build these types of properties and to afford land to put one on.

I like that they were able to make this house to fit her needs. I also like how open the floor plan is.that I could get around easily unlike a lot of mobile homes thank you.

Just have a couple of suggestions - the back porch needs a door & stairs or ramp so the house has 2 exits in case of a fire and the front porch needs a rail around it so an elderly person doesn’t fall off & it may also need a ramp in the future. Also the outside washer / dryer may need a vent added to the wall attached to the house to give it some heat in the winter, the insulation may not be sufficient to keep the pipes from freezing, especially with a glass door. Overall, great design and a very lovely home!

How much of an investment would this be?

It was an existing stud wall building. I had it moved and did my own LH. Omg. This is a fabulous home!!!! I love the tall walls, windows, porches. EVERYTHING!!!! She did the most amazing job with your building. The screened in birch out back is the bomb!

Cute home, and the washer dryer area is great...probably the best part. Her Son did a fantastic job, even though she said it wasn't good. I would have utilized the vaulted area more, put a loft or some storage. wasted apace.

I love this home I'm 58 year of age and I want to own my home. The apartment I'm renting now is a one bedroom and if I resign my lease it will cost me 975 dollars a month.I can't afford to for a apartment right this is something that I will be looking into. Have you guys happened to think about possibly doing an entire neighborhood of these type of homes? I think it would be something worthwhile to look into especially geared toward the seniors in different areas. I think it's absolutely amazing and it would be perfect for me. The design tool you get when you click through the link is really cool...but when you finish the design you want, then you have to submit your contact information in order to get a quote. So I guess the "instant pricing without any personal details" is a little inaccurate.

I want this house!!! Perfectly designed (ooooops on w/d😊) I love the 2 porches, perfect places for breakfast, lunch or dinner....or just wool-gathering! I just got AC for the first time in 40 years, so I understand Kay's delight! My understanding that there are certain parts of the country (state, county, and town) restrictions on modular constructed homes and their placement. I would have to investigate Shed-to-Home laws in my area. Congratulations Kay on your lovely new home!
